Never seen this camera and film system before! Thanks for sharing! I like the style of the camera! Very interesting info on the ASA/ISO system!
It is pretty nice system. You just need to make sure to have an empty rapid film cartridge to be able to use the film. That made the 126 cartridge and regular 35mm film a better alternative in the end.
FYI: 126 cameras were produced until 1988, Kodak 126 film was produced until 1999 and 126 film in general was produced until 2007, the last manufacturer being Ferrania (Italy) which went out of business in 2012. Fortunately they got things going again in 2014 and are producing 4 different types of black and whit felm by now, the plan is to make color film (print/reversal) and also in dead formats like 126.
Hi, i have a Optima Rapid 250. It got the same system I guess, do you know if it is possible to adapt a regular 35mm to be able to use it? It still work but i believe the rapid film is not available anymore, or at least in my country and it's a shame not be able to use the camera. I can't find any videos about this particular camera
SL Cassettes were the East German (GDR) version of the Karat cassettes. Fully compatible with Karat but missing the film speed tab so only limited use in Rapid cameras
You put it... the wrong way round? The left cartridge feeds into the right cartridge
Do you have a business email? I was wondering if you do restorations.
Hi, check my "About" section from a computer to get my email address. It won't show up on mobil. If you check my other videos, those are the type restorations that I do. I can definitely give you tips on helping fix up your camera though. Thanks!
