In addition to Tuba Skinny, I've been recently listening to a lot of blues music as well, especially by musicians such as John Lee Hooker and Mississippi John Hurt.
Hurt released "My Creole Belle" on the flip side of the same album with "Richland Woman Blues" in 1963, but the actual tune of "My Creole Belle" was a well-known ragtime tune that had virtually the same title of "Creole Belles" and it dates way back to a composition published in 1900 by the Danish-born violinist Jens Bodewalt Lampe, and was recorded in 1902 by an ad hoc outfit billed as the Edison Concert Band.
And so naturally I searched all over for "Tuba Skinny Creole Belle" and, in spite of their huge repertoire, I could not find any recordings of this old, familiar tune. Therefore, let just me put it out there as . . . a REQUEST! - j q t -

Many thanks, digitalalexa! 'Black Rag' was allegedly composed by William Ridgley in 1925, and recorded by Celestin's Tuxedo Orchestra. However there's a mystery that hints at plagiarism: it is virtually identical to 'Down Home Rag', composed 14 years earlier by Wilbur C Sweatman & L Brown. Compare the two pieces for yourself by listening to the Jim Europe's Society Orchestra recording of 'Down Home Rag' made in 1913: czcams.com/video/-xxQQ6xO-d8/video.html
The Tuba Skinny performance is very closely modelled on the Papa Celestin recording, even including the string interlude (1 min to 1 min 09) and the jovial two-bar break taken by Shaye and Craig at 1 min 35 secs and at 1 min 54 secs. Like Celestin, Tuba Skinny play the first Theme in Bb. Then, after the key-changing Bridge at 37 secs, the rest is in Eb. The chord sequence IV-I-V7-I (familiar from such tunes as 'Blueberry Hill', 'All Night Long Blues', 'Redwing', 'The Girls Go Crazy' and 'Down by the Riverside') is prominent. When they revisit Theme A (2 mins 43 secs until the end) they do so in Eb.
