Masters of the Universe is a popular multimedia franchise that originated as a line of action figures created by the toy company Mattel. Launched in the early 1980s, Masters of the Universe quickly gained immense popularity and expanded into various forms of media, including animated television series, comic books, video games, and a live-action film.
At the center of the Masters of the Universe universe is the heroic warrior named He-Man. He-Man, also known as Prince Adam, possesses the Power of Grayskull, which grants him superhuman strength. Together with his allies, including the courageous Battle Cat, Man-At-Arms, Teela, and the Sorceress, He-Man defends the realm of Eternia from the evil forces of Skeletor.
Skeletor, the main antagonist of the franchise, is a malevolent sorcerer seeking to gain control of Castle Grayskull, the source of He-Man's power. He commands an array of henchmen, such as Evil-Lyn, Beast Man, and Mer-Man, as he schemes to conquer Eternia and rule over its inhabitants.
The Masters of the Universe franchise captured the imagination of children and adults alike with its engaging storytelling, vibrant characters, and memorable designs. The animated series, titled "He-Man and the Masters of the Universe," was a significant part of the franchise's success, running from 1983 to 1985. The franchise also spawned a successful toy line, with numerous action figures and playsets representing the characters and locations from the series.

How many people did we lose doing an episode on Funko Pops? 😅
Not me, the draw is the process, what the seller is thinking versus sometimes the reality of the market for their collection. Keep up the great content, and love the quality of your channel and videos.
Thanks so much! Sometimes we get worried about the content in a certain weeks episode. Hoping for more people to think like you think!
I hate Funko overload. But some of them are especially awesome. Seriously. I was given a Stan ' the man ' years ago. I consider a treasure. 😂
Some of them are cool, but most are not.
Luv it! I collect star wars and marvel pops. Only have one motu pop, he-man in blue armor from last summer convention
LOL if you're collecting for value. You're doing it wrong. You collect because you love or like the items. If at some point in the future, they have value, that is just a plus. Value comes from rarity. Nothing mass produced today will have rarity. Nostalgia products will not have value. the future market will not have that nostalgia connection that the market now does.
Toys yes, things like land no .
@erikrhafer6644 how is land suppose to be nostalgic lol?
Ok boomer
Tell that to the guys making bank selling G1 collections at auctions
Loser
I love each episode regardless of the content. Part of what’s fascinating is seeing how you guys (respectfully) deal with your customers and strategically and fairly negotiate.
Thanks so much!
Funko pops are the worst collectibles I’ve ever seen. Take up space and not even cool to look at
"I would like 1000 cash and 1500 store credit."
1 sec later
"Ok, I will take 800 cash".
A lot of the toy stores near me have a huge wall of funko pops and nobody ever buys them
All 2nd hand shops I have been to, have a big collection of Funkos for almost nothing.
I laugh at people who say people who collect funko pops aren't real collectors, they do the same exact thing that other action figures of collectors do, they SIT on a shelf, i like the way pops look, and the way they look in and out of box and how easy they are to display, i only buy what i like.
Personally think pops are the new beanie babies
I mean, they're close to it. The only difference is they do at least have value still.
This pretty much sums up my thoughts too
Beanie Babies could be on a rise in a couple weeks though
It made me smile the other day when I saw a bunch of FUNKO POPS in a plastic bag just hanging in a thrift store WHERE THEY BELONG well there or the trash can!
The fact that funco had the nerve to sell the same figure all over the place and the only reason they are limited is because of a little sticker says it all.
The consumer obviously fell for it so can you really blame them?
@@bladerunner1bnot the brightest people in our communities
Landfill, I see stores with 1 dollar price tags on pops at this stage and they still aren’t selling
I have never bought a pop, and I never will
I've noticed a large increase in people calling in to sell Pop collections over the last 6 months or so. We have basically stopped buying them, and while they still sell the volume is down significantly.
I love this channel, I don’t even collect this type of stuff and I still can’t get enough. It’s fast becoming my favorite channel on here. Thanks Toy Federation
Thank you!
The muscle figures really bring me back. Had loads of fun as a kid with them
Yea! They're great! And now we have some!
I used to enjoy them too. I remember they sold a mini garbage can that was full of them.
Mini Garbage can? That sounds interesting.
@@toyfederation Super7 first sold their MOTU MUSCLE in packaging that matched the old school muscle packing. Mini garbage cans and the long display box.
Muscles! Now that’s something I haven’t seen in 40ish years.
I hope they have some vintage when I finally get down there!
Ugh, I feel like every con or sale I go to are just walls of Pops
And you can't even use them to build a shelter...total waste. One thing you never see is a collection of them opened. I mean, what's the point with opening them, but still, just weird I've literally never seen loose ones.
Why anyone would think that a cheap product ( also kinda ugly) produced in the millions would hold any value is just beyond me…
I know Not Since Beanie Babies Look How that turned out glad I was not caught up on that crap,,
wait till you hear about Bear Brick lmao
Why anyone, anywhere, at any time, would ever buy ANY of those stupid Funko Pops is beyond me.
Hahaha
Could not care less about Funko Pops, personally. That said, I enjoy seeing you guys and the shop business regardless of what's spotlighted. Also I don't begrudge people their passions whatever they are. There's a contingent of our community that loves pops. This is for them and that makes me happy! Meanwhile - Street Shark M.U.S.C.L.E.!?!! 😮
Yea!
We live in Malaysia, we have watched your channel and are impressed with your store and are thinking about planning a trip to the US to come and visit your store/
Oh wow! Please let us know when you do!
The MOTU pops are some of my favourites! Really eye catching and fun
there must come a time when you own a store that you look back 10-20 years ago and say “man I used to stock that item and now its worth $10,000.00
End of the day what you provide is free content people should be grateful you take the time to produce such great episodes and appreciate the hard work
Appreciate the compliment!
The guy should had sold the Pop Figures and the protective caes as two lots.
Fascinating stuff and so nicely edited. A must-watch every week.
Thank you! Check out our cinematographers channel!
When I walk in your store I’ll be asking for you to point me towards the Dairy Products section lol. The opener had me cracking up.
Love seeing behind the scenes! Love your store and what y’all do! Keep it up!
I see alot of people hating on pops so i just want to chime in as to why i personally collect them, they hold more licenses than any toy company ever, with that said i like that i am able to grab anything from a star wars figure to a cat in the hat figure, whatever it may be thats nostalgic and they display the same, same size, same semetrical appearance on a shelf. Its nice having different characters from different franchises that you love in the same visual likeness, when you have random stuff from different companies it just looks like clutter, i will say however alot of the newer ones are worthless because mass production, the older ones tend to retain or gain in value especially limited piece ones. But regardless of what you collect you better love it because if not you may lose alot of money trying to get rid of it later. Kids nowadays watch other kids play w toys on youtube, they arent really collecting things so i suppose it will all be valueless in the future
Who cares? They all look like the same generic, ugly, square-headed doll.
@@diablojones Indeed. Whoever the marketing people were sure done a fantastic job in duping gullable people into buying that garbage.
As much as I can't stand Pops (including the roughly 10-12 that I somehow wound up with), I do see your point. To be fair, a couple of the Little Shop of Horrors Pops that I have are actually really cool, mainly because the plant doesn't fit into the moronic look they give all the human characters (Those dead eyes drive me crazy). The uniformity is what kept them alive this long. Seriously though, who has space for these new giant ones they're pushing? Not even the stores that are trying to carry them have space.
Pops are the stupidest collectible fad since Beanie Babies - but at least Beanie Babies were well made. This soulless trend is going to crash any moment. and it's well overdue. They have zero style, and there are barely a handful of Pops ever made that are the least bit interesting looking. Nothing is rare, they overproduced everything. A"special edition" sticker doesn't make a thing collectible, people. /end rant.
It’s crashed pretty sure they aren’t making them anymore, stores can’t sell them and they are for a fact going to landfill as we speak
30 million worth going to landfill to be exact, pops are OVER and if I owned this store I would turn away anyone trying to sell them to me
Besides watching the sweet old toys and guessing what the offer will be, I love watching and guessing what cartoon is playing in the background. Thank you.
Pops are the beanie babies of the future.
Keep dreaming lol
Horrible. I sold all 16 of my pops in ma yard sale for about 3 dollars a pop. Now I have so much space for nice action figures. Don’t regret it one bit.
Calling something exclusive and just putting a sticker on it and selling somewhere else is shady.
?
Action figures over funko pops any day!
I still collect Funko Pops. I don't care about their value or if they are still in style, etc, etc. at all.
I collect things PURLEY on my enjoyment.
Nothing more, nothing less.
Perfect!
We came into your store while at SEGE, this year. You have an amazing store, fantastic stock, and helpful staff. I picked up a Toybiz Hulk but I wanted literally EVERYTHING from the display by the door, and glass cases…
THANK YOU. I cannot recommend your shop enough!
Thank you so much for coming in!
@@toyfederation funny thing is, I’m a subscriber. A very dim, burnt-out subscriber. I really enjoy the show too. Don’t know why I didn’t realize. Probably because we were all over town and ready to drop.
Been waiting all week for your upload! Thanks guys!
Love it!
Pops are a waste
your funko policy should be like your beanie baby policy..
there it’s just to much and all over saturated, takes up too much space.:
Not a Pop collector but love the content from the store.
AWesome!
i am not a toy collector but love vintage stuff so its cool to see your videos,
Great video, stores looking great , can't wait to see you guys clean up some of the storage and see the transformation , keep up the great videos and hard work 👍
Yea! It's daunting!
Why do I find this channel so interesting? It's fascinating to watch and just draws you in, even pops at a push lol
So great! WE don't know why either but we're glad it does! haha.
It's sort of like Pawnstars, but just toys.
That was our goal!
Funko is the definition of classic oversaturation. I never understood the love for them. Doofy looking generally unmoving figurines
The modern day beanie baby
I still see Funko pops as the beanie baby of this generation
Gotta love the toy box stare off thinking of a price
Wish we had some stores like this out west, most are very small and do not change inventory much do to their lack and brining in trades and people selling collections.
I'm not a toy or figure guy. Only deal in videogames but i love how informative the channel is and there is some nostalgia attached. Now on to funko's i do have all opened pokemon ones.
We are at a retro video game conference today!
@@toyfederation guessing south east game exchange. If so have fun love the videos hope you make some on the event whichever it is.
@@south-sellgamers853 No filming at this one but we do have some more con videos coming down the pike!
I love that Megatron og. I will never forget getting it the year it came out as the center piece present that Christmas. It is my fondest Christmas memory next to the Return of the Jedi year when I got all Rebel and Imperial starships :).
Great video as always. Glad I never got into Funko Pops. That landfill story is pretty funny. Keep up the awesome work though. These videos are such high quality.
Thanks! You should check out our cinematographers youtube channel!
Saw you guys on Froggy Flips and had to come check out your channel. Good stuff! Earned a new sub.
I avoid Funko like the plague! To me it's overproduced and overrated! I stick to real toys both vintage and new. Love the chanel! Keep up the great work! Hope to visit someday 💯
I always thought POPS were cool but knew it was a mistake when people were paying big bucks for them. They do nothing lol
I can't for the life of me understand why people buy them just to sell them. The only value they have is the memories we give them. I have like 7-9 funko pops I think. All out of the box, all scattered around my house and my work office. But each one of a character that means something to me. Top Cat and Benny cause that was the cartoon I grew up with. Yacko Wacko and Dot, for the same reason... Red power ranger and Ryu because when I played with my cousins I was always the Red ranger or Ryu in street fighter lo. Like I BLED to be those characters lol, literally! So they mean a lot to me.
The plastic doesn't have value to me, they're there to remind me of those memories that mattered to me. Seeing people collect walls of the stuff just to collect. I dunno how to feel about that.
I’m all in! Love the channel and all the content regardless of the FP. Store looks awesome!!!!
Thanks!
Funko Pops belong in the same landfill as the Atari ET game
I dug those up long ago
Didn't get a chance to watch when this premiered. But I just finished it while at work. Another great episode as always. I myself did start collecting POPs a few years ago for the wrong reasons. luckily, I stopped before it got out of control. I still have them about 50 randoms. But once I found out about the MOTU ones. Those I do collect. Looking for a complete collection. Yeah, your cash price is spot and your trade in is reasonable especially if he wanted cash and credit. Which you said $200 for cash and $1,000 for credit also fair and generous. Like always I'm not trying to be a hater on the seller. But I get it. I was like that too with high expectations for the worth of whatever I was selling or trading. People selling or trading need to really start checking prices before going to your store because a lot of items out there are really fluctuating daily in value. Especially Pops. Like you said there are a few of the MOTU POPs going high but most of them are decreasing in value. Like you also pointed out what there charging for a single POP on shipping is not a good sign. I truly believe POPs are the next Beanie Babies disaster. Just like you joked in the beginning. I already knew what you mean by that lol. POPs are fine to collect. But if you're expecting them to make you rich or to retire from. I wouldn't go as far as that. I do want to finish the MOTU POPs but I'm not expecting them to hold their value. I really do enjoy them for that reason because their MOTU. If they hold their value or increase after the downfall. Cool. If they become worthless. Then I'm fine with that too. Because that wasn't why I started to collect them to begin with.
Funko pop = beanie babies
1,000,001.
This was the most intense 'docu-reality' episode i've seen since early seasons of COPS!
... seriously though, this upload was entertaining to watch and there were interesting pieces in the background that caught my eye.
That’s great!!
I enjoy pops. Especially the MOTU ones. Definitely wish I had some rare ones like ram man, Faker, & scare glow. Love seeing the battle beast, I have a lot. Even some of the laser beast(ones with glass ball)
Love this show. Love seeing the store.
Thanks!
If I ever make it to that store my first question will be: Where’s your sporting goods section! Do you carry binoculars?
I’d buy those MUSCLES if I ever went to your store. 😁✌️👍
I can't get enough of these videos! Keep em coming gang.
So great to hear! Glad you like them!
Wish we had two episodes a week 😂.
Sometimes we do!
Another amazing episode with additional insights. I cannot imagine how hectic your Saturdays are without filming - thank you for taking the time to film as well! LOVED the update on the glass case. Also, your insights on the economy with the lower priced Pops is something I am seeing in my industry as well. Their are still consumers for the higher value items BUT the consumers that were able to spend $10-$20 a week are drying up. Wishing your entire staff a great week!
Thankfully we have a production crew so we just do what we do and they capture it and form it into a story some how
Pops are the modern Beanie Babies. The bubble has already started to burst.
so true. I never got the appeal of funko pops, theyre so lame looking.
Yeah, they blow
Best job in the world. Really enjoying your your. I am a toy collector from the U.K.
That’s awesome! Thank you so much!
Why buy those when the superior amiibos exist?
Hell yes! (Answer - because they're cheap). Nothing waters down a toy collection like a bunch of stupid Pops.
Funko Pops are an absolute pile of shite. Of all the cool things people could collect & they choose those steaming piles of manure.
I own one funko pop 😅
But it’s always interesting to see what other people collect and to see deals being done 👍
Man, that's an awesome store!
the film style for this video was excellent
excellent video as always!
The only bad thing about watching this video is now CZcams will be recommending to me Funko Pop and MOTU collecting channels for the next month.
Oh come on! You love it! haha
Honesty one of my favorite shows. Look forward to every video 👍
Much appreciated!
I expect to see walls of pops at thrift shops in a few years. It's going to be a real problem.
Love the show!!sweet shop wish I lived closer lol in New mexico you guys ship?
OMG! Those M.U.S.C.L.E Men are amazing
Store looking even better.. keep up the good work, best wishes my bro’s💯🎱 all the way from Jersey with ❤️
Do you have any vintage toys? "No, but our shelves are full of Funko.".
I just started collecting Funk pops after action figures the past few years. I'm only getting them cos I like the characters.
That’s great! Do what makes you happy!
I only buy Funkos if I cannot find the action figure. Like my Inspector Gadget POP.
As the dude with the beard, probably grew up with He-Man and still having his original toys from the first line, like i have.
I was tempted to get the giant He-Man once, but my utter disdain for everything Funko Pop keeps me from pulling the trigger.
Because, you see, like this dude is finding out now, you might like a character or a line of toys. if you get the funko version, you WILL be selling them sooner or later, because thay are tasteless uninspired worthless future landfill.
For some reason since watching a couple of these toy videos from other stores, this is the second video i got from you, where it is again, about funko, no worries, i'm not a subscriber yet, so you couldn't lose me as one ;)
Personally I have the giant heman beastman and trapjaw..woulda got skeletor but wasn't original version..they're display pieces..I love them and got discounts on most of my motu stuff not full price..I still love certain funkos
Best description of Funko pops ever
Bingo.
I locked on the the Dark Gundam in the background 😂
Whats the best way to buy in bulk or overstock / nos stuff
I actually like funkos a lot. But when some of them reached hot toys 1/6 scale price that’s just absurd
What's so 'absurd' about it?
For me, Funkos are just a 'scam'....
For example, years ago I bought a 'Titanfall 2' figure from McFarlane for $49.99, and last year I sold it for $300 on eBay.
That's also 'Hot Toy-like value' - so what?
The figure is at least extremely detailed and doesn't have a high production rate - Because it's McFarlane.
Funkos, on the other hand - even the 'exclusives/limited editions' from various 'Comic Cons' or 'Walmart Exclusives' - are just a 'scam' and can and could be produced in 'absurdly high numbers.'
It's just 'artificial scarcity' from Funko. (Or whatever the Company is called)
Funkos are simply the 'modern-day Beanie Babies' and completely worthless.
They're also bought by people who otherwise have nothing to do with the whole 'collecting' and 'merchandise'-thing
They're just so boring.
With most 'figures/statues' (or whatever), you can 'make' money - you often get at least the money back that you paid for them, or even see a small 'increase in value. but I wouldn't even pay $5 for Pops...
I can understand buying like 3-4 of them because there's nothing else available, but otherwise?
For example, I have 'Earl and Baby Sinclair' as Pops - the only two I own because I couldn't find any other 'figures' or similar items from 'The Dinosaurs' Show.
(And Baby Sinclair just looks funny af with that big ol' head)
But now NECA is releasing a nice line of 'The Dinosaurs' figures.
Good call on adding Mythic Legions to your inventory. I wish one of the stores around me carried them.
Come to us! haha
I'm not a big Funko Pop collector, but I have a couple of them.
I have the Ginger and Mary Ann from Gilligan's Island.
I also have the Target exclusive "Kiss the girl" from the 1989 movie. My favorite piece.
They are not that bad, at least to me.
Awesome! Enjoy this episode?
They're this generations bennie babies, everyone has one.
There is just too much Funko Pop out there...
So much that even the funky company have to sent certain amount of funky pop to the land waste😮
While I can’t wait until those eyesores go the way of the Beany Baby, I dread the influx of plastic waste.
Love this show but never understand the appeal to Funko Pops lol 😆
It's good for the minor league collector.
Funko Pops are lasting longer than the Beanie Baby fade in the 90's.
Yes
Iv sold a few funkos on ebay (dont collect) but when he said 6$ free shipping I immediately had to go to ebay the cheapest of the cheap I can find are like 9.99 free shipping but for the most part the floor is 12$ +free shipping. It cost 4.75-5.50$ to ship with cheapest funko so theres no way somone was selling them for 6$ free shipping lol (unless you were mistakenly looking at opened/small form factor funkos/boble head funkos.
Funko Pops is Just a modern Beanie Baby
This is our new shirt idea.
I do love the content you share, you should have like 100k subs in my opinion.
Getting there! Hit a million views yesterday!
yall have no idea how hype I am that yall in SC lmao still about 4.5 hours away but awesome
Come see us!
I always look forward to this every Saturday morning ❤ I was curious though, what is the clone trooper bust over under the TV? I've never noticed that before. I've seen the Vader but not the clone trooper
Oh. It came in on trade a couple months back! It's super cool!
@toyfederation it looks super cool. I've just never noticed it in the background until today. Great episode as usual. I'm not a pop guy but that market seems to be going the way of the beanie baby.
You're right about pops. Also, I love that you're noticing the store and the background. We get new stuff every day. Store is constantly changing. Love seeing what people notide!
@toyfederation I was actually in South Carolina on vacation this week down from Ohio and thought about stopping by. Unfortunately it was just a little to far out of the way. Sometime though, the store looks great 👌🏻
Hate that we missed you!
They don't buy on the average, they buy on a 1/3 of the average, so you can flip it to make a profit.
Where this place at i wants to go there looks awesome 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I gave up on anything under 12 bucks free shipping a LONG time ago. Idk how some sellers do it. Or why. I get its a numbers thing but man thats alot of work and time at 6 bucks free shipping
