Thank you for putting yourself out there. It's very scary to do, and there is no shortage of hate from people on the outside. Dealing with the pressure is it's own skillset that is completely independent of golfing ability, but it makes or breaks your tournament scores. I have some similar experiences of breaking the hell out of par in practice but then showing up and shooting 76. I haven't played like I want to in a tournament in probably 10 years, but I'm going to keep going. You have inspired me by allowing me to not feel alone in my experiences. I plan on playing in some mini tour events early next year. I'd love to get a round or two in with you when I get there! I used to be a pro at Disney back in 2010, I might be able to get us a round there if I still know people there.
Thanks for sharing that man, means a lot! Keep on grinding… and yeah, would love to get a round in one day 👊🏼
Relatable!!!!
You're too hard on yourself Andrew. You're a great golfer, but tournament golf is stressful and not that much fun if you're not playing well. To really perform in tournament golf you have to be able to commit the practice time and you just have other priorities now. That's okay. I still like watching your videos and I think you're doing good things.
Thanks Clint! I’m hard on myself but just the right amount… thankfully I’ve learned over the years to not beat myself up as much anymore and just roll with the punches. Tournament golf beats me up but after an hour, I’m all good and ready to enjoy life again haha
@@andrewjensengolf That dad life too! I balance full time work, 2 little girls, a marriage and golf. If you want it bad enough, you stop at nothing. That's what I love about your videos man! And you're a super cool dude.
Andrew I think for me this was your best video yet. I took 10 years off from tournament golf. I played my first tournament this year and man just like yourself I enjoyed the work. I practiced like I don't think I had done before. Played some practice rounds and saw improvement. Tournament time came and I played like I never played before. Flat-out awful. I learned that I can't just go out and play a tournament without really getting some rounds under my belt. I was way too rusty from just not playing much. I likened it too a rookie football player where the pro game is just too fast at first. I'm not going to quit though. I have 2 daughters and I feel if I quit I'm not teaching them anything like the value of perseverance and hard work. I feel 18 years ago I put in as much time as any pgatour pro and never got anywhere. I worked part time for a pro so I could practice and play all I wanted to. The only thing I got was a few failed Monday Qualifiers for Nationwide tour events. So I certainly understand the frustration. I hated it so bad I had a hard time watching it on TV. I regret quitting for those 10 years. I regret not changing my practice or playing time simply because it wasn't working. If it doesn't work try a different method or routine. So in summary chin up and keep grinding. You've experienced more success than a lot of other players.
Driver
Appreciate that story man! Chin is always up… just my pursuits of playing are behind me, and I’m sooo okay with that. I love this life as a creator more than the life of a traveling player.
No quit in me ever, but a 10 year career with some ups and downs behind me is a fine thing to hang my hat on. Now I can focus on making golf fun and sharing my experiences with everyone else 👊🏼
@@andrewjensengolf there is nothing wrong with that. I know I certainly appreciate the videos you make and the content you share.
Hey brother, bad tourneys happen. You know this as much as anyone. I’m sure you use a lot of your experience with that fact about golf in your skills lessons. You put in the work and that pays off eventually. Sometimes later than we’d hope! I love the content and love that your content is relatable! My last tourney this year was a defeat and victory all in one. Come out on the first day hot going -2 through 4 holes. Score a horrendous 8 on the par 4 5th. Proceed to make some dumb errors throughout the day to shoot a 77 round one. Come out the second day knowing I’m pretty much out of it but wanting to show the other guys in champ flight I belong. Shoot second low round -6 day two. Easily could have been a contender for placing but you said it. This game we love.
The shoe rack is back ! Made the day with that AJ ! Keep your head up that was just another bad run can’t win them all 😎 what you bring to the game and golf community is awesome looking forward to the content 🤘
Thank you for documenting the tournament week. Despite the disappointing rounds, you were honest and real with your reflections. And that's why us subscribers love your channel.
Appreciate that Austin 👊🏼
The sound track to this video is fire!!!
You my friend… have great ears 👊🏼
love your honesty... tournaments are hard however if anyone can do it, it's you. Be patient with yourself. All the best
Thanks Kavi 👊🏼
AJ, the grind never stops man. I came across you from the stinky shoe video, lol. I have these Puma (Bryson's shoe) and they reek to high heaven. I've played Winter golf, walked through tons of water and every other condition. Needless to say, I just hand washed them. Still have some smell, but hoping the powder knocks the rest out.
I love your content, your dedication, your overall demeanor. I'm the same exact way in my approach. If you ever come up to NY, let's play a round man! My goal is the tour within the next year or two. The hustle and dream never stops! GET IT!
Great video, really interesting to see the prep work for getting into competitive golf. Nobody is perfect, glad to see that you are going to keep playing and making vids
Thanks Adam... and just think, this is a fraction of what the actual prep looks like for a full time player! I miss those days, but wouldn't trade this life for them!
I would give anything to have your opportunity. I’m 41, live in Michigan, have three kids, work a desk job 40 hours a week, and hardly have any time to practice. Don’t waste this chance. You will look back one day and regret it. I guarantee it
I already had my time in the sun chasing the dream. 10 solid years and I’m so happy with where I am now at 37 with a wife and baby. No regret, just now my focus is on chasing the dream of great golf videos 🙌🏼
Keep grindin brother!
As a dad of a 1 year old
And who plays golf I love practicing and playing but don’t get to play that much with work and being a new dad golf is secondary I am having trouble to enjoy tournaments I want to enjoy it but don’t
So watching this video was the first time I saw myself in you! Keep it up have fun making the videos you love to make
I can't tell if you are a golfer with a video editing addiction or a video editor with a golfing addiction but both are exceptional. Keep doing what you are doing and show these young whipper snappers what quality content looks like. I for one would love to see you crying as you hoist a trophy on Sunday as your family surrounds you but I will stay tuned to what your future holds. You will do awesome things. Continue to write your story knowing you have fans out there waiting for the next update.
Thanks for that Frankie, means a lot!!
Can you make a video on how you block and/or structure your practice because it would be of great help to me and a lot of other people as well. Keep up the great work Andrew!!
Check out my “practice like a pro” playlist… and stay tuned for my app launch in the new year with even more goodies about practice and the game 😉
Enjoyed the video per usual. No shame in going out there and competing. Golf happens. Don't hang your head or feel you need to explain it because you don't, it's golf which is the greatest equalizer. Most important thing was you did this for fun, which I think you kind of got away from during the tournament. But thankfully for us you are amazing at your youtube full time job! 😁
Love the honesty of your videos and your are a good golfer there’s no doubt in that and a good CZcamsr too
With great content
At the end of the days it’s mixing the two together and enjoy what you do.
Appreciate that so much Richard!
So good to see the trunk back in action. DRIVER😉
Was a fun week to have it back!
Appreciate the work and grind you put in. Although a tough process, it really puts this game into perspective. Thank you for sharing 👏🏽 driver.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Still love seeing your thought process on how you are preparing for these tournaments. Next tournament will be the one. 3wood.
Thanks Scott
Great idea for organizing your golf gear in the trunk/hatch.
100% man... check out the tour I did back in 2018

A Casey Niestat Vlog, and Andrew Jensen mini tour vlog, released in the same day. This can’t get any better!
HAHA that's truly amazing... he's the GOAT and all of my early stuff was the best Casey meets golf videos I could make!
@@andrewjensengolf Well you and him are big reason why my channel exists. Awesome Video! Reminds me so much of the videos when I first found you!
It’s a grind man. Love ya for posting this. Stay focused and grind more on your game.
Appreciate it
Great video. I still believe in you. If you keep working and the results will come. Hard work still beats everything!
Enjoy the process. The golf is simply the CHALLENGE
Enjoy and embrace that challenge. Don't be so result oriented and see what comes from it after its all done and over with ✌🙏
I feel you man. Had a meltdown my last money game round a few Saturdays ago. Expectations too high. Lost it.
Head up man. We all love your content and thanks for being real.
3 wood!
Thanks Jim!
So it didn’t quite go as well as you’d hoped but got to give yourself a break as it was your first tournament in a wee while.
As an aside what does the crossed feet during your practice session help with in your game?
My practice is in a Saturday medal 😫 no time that's why am stuck at 10 handicap 👊🏴⛳
Hi Andrew, I enjoyed your video, great to see how you put the work in! Can you let me know what kind of caps you are wearing in the video? I do like those... :-)
Thanks Sven! These are Melin hats 👊🏼
@@andrewjensengolf I'll go Check those out, thanks! Greetings from germany!
Loved the video Andrew! What den caddy do you use?
It’s just a Jones bag👊🏼
YESSS!! The TRUNK!!
Haha a small comeback!
Great vid, quick question: What does the drill where you cross your legs (put front foot behind trail foot) do for you?
Sequencing, balance and rhythm. If you’re out of whack, you’ll chunk/thin it or fall on your face haha
I hate to dislike a video, but it's only because of the ending. I hate to see you dude down after a few bad rounds. Enjoy being a dad for awhile! If you're ever in a tournament in OH, I'll gladly caddy for ya!
Driver would be sweet. I’ve had enough teeing off with the 3 wood 😂
😉
Don't give up on the tournaments yet, and definitely keep doing the CZcams thing love the content and the DRIVER!!
Where is the hoodie from in the beginning of the vid?
Galvin Green baby 👊🏼
Gotta explain that crossed up feet drill....thats one ive never seen before
It's a balance and sequencing drill
Don’t quit bro!!! DJ shot 80-80 in the 3M. Keep grinding keep going. Don’t give up don’t ever give up. Jimmy V!!!
I bet if you put in the same practice again next week and then played in two weeks you would improve significantly but I get it, life for you is not all about golf but got this when your ready for it🙏👊
Hey I live in titusville fl (New to the area) and I've had the hardest time finding a new coach. I have been playing for 15 years so it wouldn't be teaching me how to grip the club. I saw the Daytona beach exit so im guessing you're somewhere near me. Do you teach? If so do you have room for another student?
Love the videos! Keep playing random tourneys every so often...hire a camera man...these videos are so entertaining...if only we could have seen the putter throw!!!!
Yeah like everyone else is saying, you’re a good player. If you want to play a tournament and not tell CZcams and see how that goes, go for it! If not, no big deal! I played in the New Hampshire open this past summer and stunk but in the second round I was 2 under through 9 before the wheels fell off but it happens 🤷🏻♂️ Keep plugging, play for fun and enjoy the game whenever you can 😃 “fairway wood”
Thanks Corey
Keep your head up Andrew, you did great! Yah the scores are not what you expected but stop focusing on the negative parts. Yes you put a lot of work in but dude you are a DAD now AND you literally have a full time job on top of practice, drills, practice rounds, etc. And the fact you are putting yourself out there to vlog this whole process, adding more pressure to perform. It’s not easy!
Everyone wants to perform their best but sometimes you’re the windshield and sometimes you’re the bug! Cheer up, move on, keep pushing! And keep on making great videos!
Side note - do you have the WHOOP live when you demolished your putter? Asking for a friend 🤣
Love the videos like this. Driver
That sucks man!! Keep your head up!!
Always!
What percentage of your practice do you listen to music and what percentage do you just listen to the sounds of the golf course or really concentrate on your practice?
Music aids my concentration, but I will take the earbuds out if I find myself getting a little too "out of touch" with the feel/sounds of impact and the swing
Hell yeah!
I commented to early in the video. I was getting into the preparation not knowing the result at the end.
Hahah all good dude!
Don't forget those travel vlogs where Starbucks was "our 1st stop" of the journey 🤣
Got aa son now... so it's a lot more iced coffee at home to start the journey lol
I blame the jaguars record on why I play bad, could try that. DRIVER
Hahaha yes!!
It's okay Andrew. I can't break 80, but I'll buy you a round. Come play Palm Harbor with us!
Your new born could care less what you shot. 😀 Thanks for all the great content. We appreciate it.
Amen to that!!
Driver and earllyyyyy
😉
Wasnt expecting the DRIVER let go
😉
Sorry to hear you are so disappointed. Keep up what you love to to do we always look forward to the You Tube posts.
Been subscribed for a while but don’t necessarily watch all your videos. Your swing is actually looking really solid. Exiting left and rotating hard. Tournaments are tough but I think you’d get much more satisfaction playing matches against some of the good good guys or other golf CZcams guys. Make it “tournament style” but you also don’t have to do all the annoying tournament stuff. Anyways I did enjoy this video and have a good one
Thanks Max!
Lots of possibilities on the content horizon, stay tuned 😉👊🏼

Why does it show you as DNC?
Hitting a putt with that bent putter after throwing it… totally didn’t realize it. So that’s why it’s NC. Not sure exactly the +7 came from
@@andrewjensengolf Lol duh I should have thought about that. Golf Genius never shoes the true story. Also keep at it. Your identity is not found in this game. Unfortunately we, as golfers, believe the lie that it is our identity.
