This is a series of lectures to highlight the salient fundamental tenets which govern the Doctrine preserved under the Tradition of Theravāda. In this series, we will be pointing out the actual position of the Theravāda Tradition in the Buddhist Community, among the eighteen schools, and how it got evolved, into its present form. Moreover, we will be emphasizing the relation of the Theravāda Tradition with the ancient Tradition of Mahāvihāra emerged in Sri Lanka (previously known as Ceylon).
It is a rarity that sentient beings encounter the teachings of a fully enlightened Buddha. In a time, the teachings exist one should strive to develop oneself through practice and be vigilant so that one is not mislead. With a view to learn and develop in the teachings of the Buddha, International Institute of Theravada (IIT), is organising series of courses, which cover the teaching in-depth and comprehensively.
