The scene with the purple "A" was the stadium with everyone's Army Bomb light on and the boy's view from the stage looking at us. It's so emotional

I've been waiting for this moment. No MV has ever moved me like this one does. It's not possible to hear or watch this song an not be shattered by the end, and even more so if you were Army at the beginning and went on this journey with them. Just for anyone who doesn't know here are a couple of little things a lot of people miss: 1) The black wave that hits JK is a real thing. In Korea, the black ocean is when a group is performing on stage and all the fans and/or antifans shut off their light sticks as a rebuke against the band. Imagine being onstage and instead of being able to gain the energy of a screaming crowd you get a silent blackout. A boycott of your existence. This happened to BTS in 2016. 2) Under the words "BTS" graffitied on the wall at the beginning is the word "solo". This is in reference to the time when Bang PD asked Namjoon to choose going SOLO or staying with BTS. Namjoon did not hesitate to choose BTS. 3) When Suga is holding his arm that represents when he broke his arm working as a food delivery boy to make ends meet when BigHit was on the verge of bankruptcy. 4) RM and JK both have the word "for sale" on their jerseys because the company was so broke that the clothes they wore in their debut MV were bought on sale. 5) the papers that fly around JK in the beginning are all the offers JK got from different companies before he chose BigHit, which he did because he was a fanboy of RM. 6) JHope (the redhead crying at the end as the others gather around him) represents when he gave his speech at the end of the Wings Tour Final. And yes the whale is from Whalien 52 and the purple lights are all the ARMY bombs in the seats of a stadium (the shape of the purple lights is the shape of stadium seating. 8) and finally, when the ARMY logo changed in 2017 and at the end of the MV it's because they don’t need a Bulletproof vest anymore…The doors have opened and we can reach the purple ocean (old logo:closed doors, new logo: open doors). Great Job Anthony, as always.

Oh I learned something new. I thought the part where Hobi is crying was from their MAMA 2018 Speech when they talked about how they almost disbanded. The reason I thought this was because Hobi is holding the square gold trophy that they give out at that award.

The part that broke me is when they sing "Tell me why you don't stop this, tell me why are you still walking with us" because I asked these same cuestions at the beginning, when I was being dragged into their rabbit hole, and the answer is LOVE.

This is exactly how I feel about this MV.
There were lot of references like the 'Butterfly' , 'Born singer' and the 'Boy with Luv' in the end. All purple lights that look like an angle is stadium as they see it when the army bomb turns purple.

This video touched Army in so many ways it was such a representation of bts's journey to get where they are and from the beginning and the old studios to the first videos to the blackouts to the heart pain just showing their love for when they found Army and army found them and when they realize that Army had their backs yo. To the whale that represents the loneliest well ever and realizing that they have found their matching pitch in Army to the colossal Army bombs that are always floating around them just a purple lights that you see throughout the video it's just a beautiful representation of bts being 7 but forever being 8 with all of us.
I cried when that will busted through those crowds cuz Jimmy hit that note at the frequency of which that whale cries out to find his companion and there's no echo back but BTS hears us echo back.
There was also the mv RUN & U did get Not Today correct the 2nd time. When they're walking towards a tree, that's Spring Day. This song makes me cry every time I listen to it 😭
That scene was them at a concert and Army around them with the Army-Bombs 💜💜💜

Also, the ending scene was the " Boy with Luv" MV. This was their last Era WITH ARMY before COVID caused them to cancel their MAP OF THE SOUL TOUR which of course lead to a 2 year absence of touring and seeing ARMY face to face.

After Suga's amd RM's part the scene where you paused but couldn’t guess that was from Young Forever MV then I Need U, Run, Blood Sweat & Tears, Not Today, Spring Day...then V crying before the BTS logo door open is from MAMA 2018 where all of them get emotional after getting the award...this MV has So many memories and at last with Boy With Luv 💜✨
I bawled when I saw this video the first time and again just as hard when they performed this at the PTD concert. What an incredible journey - I'm beyond proud of them!
Been waiting for this reaction for a long time and finally we're here. Everytime I see this MV it makes me cry my eyes out at how hard our Bangtan fought throughout their career and how much they love and appreciate ARMY. I liked boybands ever since I was young, but BTS stands out the most out of all because of how genuine they are as an individual, as a group and musicians. They are uncomparable. That's why they are THE BEST!

Whenever i watch the mv, i always cry! Been there since n.o era & watching them grow this big is amazing & at the same time makes my heart clenched in fear (idk if that make sense) for whatever hatred they're gonna face because how big they've gotten. This sweet animation is so emotional, I am getting goosebumps every time I see it. Their whole story is in it, with all its trials and tribulations - Boy in Love scandal with accusations of misogyny ( = RM´s confidence cracking, mirror breaking and him sinking into sea of doubt and depression); incident with the Black Ocean they have received by other Kpop haters ( = depicted in this video as well, sweeping over them); Suga´s character singing We are bullet bullet bullet proof and while clutching his left shoulder in pain.... its endless.... so, so touching and real . A masterful video.

Anthony, you did good, you got most of it straight away. There are more subtle things that not everyone picks up on first watch, like the purple hearts lifting RM out of the water, Suga holding his arm (referencing his shoulder injury), them crying on stage. It is an emotional journey.

It doesn't matter how many times I see this MV, I cry every time. The animation is amazing, the song is beautiful, and they both touch me on a deep emotional level.
This MV was a gift from BTS to ARMY for the 2020 Festa. The obvious references, like the MVs and the more subtle references, like them all standing in a circle for Born Singer or J-Hope holding a trophy while they all cry from the 2019 MAMA acceptance speech. Nearly every ARMY across the world cried when we saw this video, especially the first time. RM even has a solo song called Reflection. This was their closing song at the end of their Map of the Soul ON:E online concert last year. Big Hit had set up 800 screens for ARMY to live broadcast during the concert, so BTS could actually see and hear ARMY, for the first time in a year. Jimin cried, hearing ARMY for the first time after so long. He hadn't known that ARMY was live. They all looked so sad and broken hearted when they sang this song at the end. ARMY sang the melody at the end back to them in a loop as the concert ended. RM kept saying, "We hear you, ARMY. We know you're there." ARMY was just as emotional, too. This song, and the MV, are very special to both ARMY and BTS.

Not gonna lie, I cry almost every time I see this music video or hear this song (almost because I mean, say if I listen to it 5 times in a row not like I can cry the entire time LOL). I'm a very emotional and sentimental person so when this came out, mannnnn. There are so many symbolism in this music video that even if you don't see it all, you understood enough to know why this song and music video is so meaningful to us. This is all I'll say since a lot of other ARMY has also commented to point out the meaning of certain images and just generally how proud we are that you were able to recognize most music video references.

The purple lights that you were trying to make up the shape is Army, but it was in the layout of their Love Yourself stadium concert tour. This MV is super special because it super detail. Suga's scene when hes holdins arm (his shoulder was injured), the black ocean that eats RM (the black ocean they got from antifans that opposed BTS rise to popularity).
Wish I was there when they finally performed it live. The one song I want to see them perform most of all.
