The man was an immigrant. He came to Goa to work in the queries Years ago. while working there on the Hills he built a hut and later converted it into a house.
They have been lying that they were not given notice, but they received first notice in 2007 . All members in the family are working, but did not look for a alternative place.
They had illegally encroached into nearly 1000m3 of land (including their house and Garden )
I was born and brought up in Verna and I can guaranty that they were not living there for 40 yrs.
They also lied that the demolition was done at midnight, but in actual it was done during the days hours in the morning.
