    Great video Jason! I especially liked the safety tips. I agree with you, safety first more than anything. As much as I want to get the shot, I want to get home to my family. I worry about bears, alligators, and panthers here. If I am traveling alone, I always send a text to my wife to let her know where I am at. And PLENTY of batteries, can't ever have enough. Great video and fantastic images at the end! Hope you are doing well and staying safe.

      Thank you so much Paul. I appreciate it! I can't imagine have to worry about gators! I am the same way, I text my wife as well.

    Nice planing and preparing for your journey friend!! This video is best for the serious or the newbie in photography, cheers!!

  • @AndrewHamiltonPhotography

    Very interesting Jason - I use Maps Earth and TPE 3D As an aside I often don’t do less planning than I might ordinarily do eg - just walk a trail or location and see what happens ! That way there are no expectations and no disillusionment as when you are researching, you tend to see some awesome images which you can rarely replicate. So I’d would agree that these are great tools and that planning does play a part of any pre trip planning but more and more I tend to try not to be influenced too much by what other images have been taken and try to find original or different perspectives on locations. So for sure I’ll check sunrise and sunset times and directions, weather etc and plan for safety too but after that just wander and see what images present themselves. Depending on where I’m going it’s a balance of the two approaches. Thanks for sharing and take care 👍🏻

    • @JasonStewartPhotography
      @JasonStewartPhotography  Před 3 lety +1

      Well put Andrew. I appreciate the input and thanks for stopping by. I agree with the balance. I do wing it at times as well. I usually only go into that great of a detail if I have never been to a place before and its a long drive. I want to make sure I have an idea of what options I might have. Have a great week and stay safe!

    Some great shots there Jason across the mist and cloud, here in Norfolk UK it is so flat and stay safe in these difficult times.

    Great tips, Jason! I didn't think of scouting locations on Google Maps before, but it is so clever! I totally agree you need to be prepared for the weather conditions and with plenty of water and food. Nothing is worse than being hungry and cold in a beautiful location

    Great tips Jason!! That was a cool app it looks like a great tool to have. I definitely agree with the safety portion you gotta be aware of whats around. Out here in az bears aren’t the problem but I gotta keep n eye out for those rattle snakes. Great stuff sir I hope all is well.
