LOL @ Loch NAS. I wish I had thought of that when building out my FreeNAS host.
The main reason why I'm not a fan of Active/Active is maintenance: You can disable one, do whatever needs to be done, fail-over, and work on the other one. You get no interruption, you don't need to schedule down-time, and you don't need to do work outside of business hours (unless you're feeling paranoid)
I love these fail-over test videos. Makes me giddy.

Is there anyway you can convince IX to let you demonstrate the integration of the M50 with their disk shelves?
@lawrence what was the drive spec and layout you where testing? Just curious about results. Can you do a few more windows Crystal Mark tests and provide results please?
Your videos have intrigued me and i setup a pair of Xen servers and have played with raid setups on them and such, and have played with FreeNas and such.. However, i always find some annoying task i have to do or limitation along the way. I love to play with the systems, but cost and headache considered, my conclusion is always that public cloud is cheaper, more robust, and easier in most cases. Id love to see your views on these products pros and cons vs their public cloud counterparts. 👏😁
What if I will build ceph cluster (like with proxmox) and place TrueNAS as vm on it? Should I create one big vdev and place it on ceph?
Oh yes SAN failures are a pain. Even when you have 2 of them in a HA setup.
