A1(M) is the designation given to a series of four separate motorway sections in the UK. Each section is an upgrade to a section of the A1, a major north-south road which connects London, the capital of England, with Edinburgh, the capital of Scotland. The first section, the Doncaster Bypass, opened in 1961 and is one of the oldest sections of motorway in Britain.Construction of a new section of A1(M) between Leeming and Barton was completed on 29 March 2018, a year later than the anticipated opening in 2017 due to extensive archaeological excavations. Its completion linked the Barton to Washington section with the Darrington to Leeming Bar section, forming the longest A1(M) section overall and reducing the number of sections from five to four.

Każdy z odcinków jest przebudowanym fragmentem drogi A1, głównej osi komunikacyjnej północ-południe, łączącej Londyn - stolicę Anglii - z Edynburgiem - stolicą Szkocji. Pierwszy odcinek, obwodnica Doncaster, został oddany do użytku w 1961 roku i jest jednym z najstarszych fragmentów autostrad w Wielkiej Brytanii[1]. Budowa nowej części A1(M) pomiędzy Leeming i Barton została ukończona 29 marca 2018 roku, rok później niż zakładano z powodu licznych prac archeologicznych. Otwarcie tego odcinka pozwoliło na połączenie fragmentu Barton - Washington z odcinkiem Darrington - Leeming Bar, tworząc najdłuższą sekcję A1(M) i redukując całkowitą liczbę istniejących fragmentów trasy z pięciu do czterech.

Nice catch. Love those excavators, on low loaders, the Fox CAT machine is about 50 tons. Good mix of types, 8 wheelers, artics, box trucks. All new up to date trucks.
