  • POKHARA, NEPAL: We heard about a great trek in the Annapurna region, that was shorter than the Annapurna Circuit, but still very challenging and so, we decided to make a move and buy our permits to complete the Mardi Himal trek.

Nice info guys, we are heading back there soon to do some trekking. Probably the Annapurna Base Camp Trek so this was extremely handy

Hey guys! Good to be in touch and glad it was handy. I actually saw on your instagram a couple of weeks back or so, that you mentioned you were going to do something different and I bet Xiomara it might be trekking. I mean you guys know Nepal city-wise, but for sure you'll love the treks. The scenery is just breathtaking! Hard work, but so worth it. I literally gorged myself on Pizza for 5 days in Pokhara afterwards though 😂

You don't need insurance and you can use a Nepali friends number to put down. It is a little over 20 dollars each for the permits. I don't find that very expensive.

The forms require an insurance policy number and despite whether you need it officially or not, it's not something I'd feel wise advising anyone to avoid having. Accidents are rare, but happen nonetheless. Around $40 per person for both permits, plus your gear. Is it eye watering? Of course not

So glad we did it, it was an amazing experience. We desperately wanted to do Langtang too but we both got pretty sick with food poisoning, plus Xiomara got a bad cold and so we weren't ready for the cold in the mountains. 100% will return to do that trek
