    I bought another version of this at IKEA. There were 4 curtain panels that slid inside of a track via rollers. Well after about a year, the rollers were coming apart, the locks that hold the panels in place were coming apart and we had to constantly go to IKEA to order new accessories for this gosh darn patio door curtain until I had enough!! Then I ordered the sliding panel curtains from “GoDear Design”. Much better design. Much better functionality. And much better with blocking out light when it is dark outside. Stay way from the IKEA design that use little dinky plastic locks a the little plastic rollers!!! $140 down the toilet for us.

      It's cheap and fragile indeed. I've used mine gently and it is still working 7 years later. Oh and this took FOREVER to fine tune and make it work well.

    This is great - watched before installing, so hopefully will save a bit of redo time! Great video! I need to find a way to cut my rails....and will hope that your video will help me beat your 5 hour install time (I'll post - probably in a month, when I accomplish this goal)!

    Finally had the thing put up! It only took us 6 hours! Would have been more if it wasn't for your video. Thanks again. Btw, it was worth it.

      Betty9971 You are very welcome! =D I assume you had to order online because there is no Ikea store near you? And then they are coming later even though you ordered them at the same time? The thing is so low cost and looks so good at the same time. Such a bargain and high value.

      +Jacky Parris Cool! I'm so glad a video I already made helped you. My 2" overlap gets stuck 1 in 20 times still so maybe 4" overlap will be the sweet spot. Thanks for the kind words, if Ikea would give me anything I want as long as I make a video of the product. Ha!

    Hi I am still not too clear. Do I have to move every panel to 2 inches to make them open and close smoothly or just need to adjust 1 panel.
    Your video is very helpful and I am going to set it up my own very soon.

    ARE YOU USING AN IKEA RAIL SYSTEM WITH 4 RAILS FOR YOUR FOUR PANELS? I bought the IKEA VIDGA WITH THREE RAILS BUT, NEEDED A FOURTH PANEL, so I bought the IKEA VIDGA SINGLE RAIL to place up in front of the triple rail system. Is that what you recommend, please?
    BTW, Thanks so much for your great video!

    • @BeatTheBush
      @BeatTheBush  Před 5 lety

      I don't have a Vidga but yes, that is what I did. I wanted each panel to have it's own rail. I showed this on my first video on this here: czcams.com/video/92ahXAHxj6Q/video.html

    A very helpful video. But I'm still a little unclear on how far in on each panel ? To get the slide right. Track 1, slide bar at the very end -- add pull rod, next panel track put the slide bar into the second screw insert, third track put slide on third screw in and so on ? Is that right. Or is it on each panel put it on the second screw insert ? thank you

    • @BeatTheBush
      @BeatTheBush  Před 8 lety

      It would be on each panel put it on the second screw insert EXCEPT the first panel.

    • @mercedesfreeman675
      @mercedesfreeman675 Před 8 lety

      Ok BTB, I think I follow. Put the 1st panel screw in the first hole. But panels 2 & 3 screw goes in 2nd hole. So I still need to know for the tracks in the ceiling. The fabric panels you know normally go 1 is in the 1st track, 2nd fabric panel is in the 2nd track, 3rd in the 3rd track. Where does fabric panel 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 go ? Thank you

    • @BeatTheBush
      @BeatTheBush  Před 8 lety

      Correct for the first part. If you plan to have 8 tracks, you need either 4 parallel tracks or 8 parallel tracks. If you go with 4, you'll have two stacks of panels where you cannot completely open the panels so that they all stack 8 on top of each other. If you go with 8 rails in parallel, you can have 8 panels stack on top of each other. However, I'm not sure if the wide hanger will actually fit 8 in parallel. I remember it can only hold two triple rails at max.

    • @mercedesfreeman675
      @mercedesfreeman675 Před 8 lety

      Yes that is correct the bracket can only accommodate two triple rails. Right now I have one. I really am beginning to see this think more clearly........I'm still one of your number one fans !! Thanks
      Working on it today.....!!!

    Hi, how is it possible that you have 4 panels? IKEA in my country we have only 3 track "holder" not 4. I have windows that are 270cm and i need 5 panels but i have no idea how to do it...

    • @BeatTheBush
      @BeatTheBush  Před 2 lety

    I have a question... I have a 10ft wide sliding glass door, I will need 5 panels. Do i just need two rails? 55 each, can cut to size. but I need all the panels to open to one side. I see you have 4 panels. how did you do that?

    • @BeatTheBush
      @BeatTheBush  Před 7 lety +1

      Each panel will need their own rail so you'll need to buy a triple and two single rail and run those in parallel. And then to make it long enough, you'll have to buy 2 or 3 sets of (tripple+single+single).
