Thanks Jeff, I was looking at actual track wheels double flanged a singleand they are expensive. Your method is definitely they way to go as well as for safety. Again thank you sir. As soon as I get mine set up I will post some pics. So far we are still working in the portal.

Nice job,how well do they corner? If you removed the out side lip off the rim some how they should corner beater,not bite in or ride the rail. I run 18 inch between rail and around 18 1/2 to 18 3/4 on the bends to prevent derailing.cheers

Cool, and yet simple to make. The symbol of all mining is the ore cart. My favorite type of cart is the side dump car because it has a more classic look to it. Keep those videos videos coming, Jeff! Great practical video! Tony and I need to build one so we can muck out the bottom level. I'm thinking that ours would be a trolly to transport the ore bucket back into the drift. Once full, wheel it out to the shaft and winch it up. The old track is already in place so it should work easy.
