  • On this episode I am restoring the front steering knuckles and brakes from the golf MK1. For the first time I used a sandblaster and painted with an air compressor.

One big mistake mate. Them dust shields are on the wrong way round. You will have to press the hub out again😞 to put them right... they look good though 👍

Wow... Good to know. I will undo the screws and chop out a section from the guards and take them off and flip them. Otherwise I will need new bearings. Thank you mate, i failed and didnt even realise it !

I made a big mistake. The dust covers go on with the curvature facing the engine not the wheels. So i will have to take them off and flip them. I am always under time pressure so I make mistakes like this, sorry guys for the wrong information given in the video.

I was going to comment this haha...But Man... I made the same mistake 😁.... but not following your video, so dont worry...It simply looked better that way and it looks like that on many many cars. Well I was not laughing at all when I tried to put the disc on ehh... 😡.. Then I had to.chose if I push the hub out and trash one set of new bearings, or carefully cut out one part of the shield and slide it off the knuckle.. I opted for latter.
