I've never had my nails done, and can't Imagine when I would have the urge, but I love watching your videos, Tatiana. Your voice actress does a great job of calming me down before bed.
Saaaaaame
I also had a greenie under my presson nails, have everything well removed and very lightly filed over the greenie then cleaned well with alcohol and then I put tea tree oil on it 3ĂĄ4 times a day. You saw it getting less by the day . Maybe this tip will help someone!!!
This video couldnât have come at a better time. Iâve just ordered these dual forms and a natural gel so that I can make my tips this way. But I was wondering about pinching. So thank you. Loved this video â€ïž
The number of people conflating bacterial green with fungal green is kinda strange, considering this lady is also a professional nail tech. Can confirm greenies are bacterial and painless! And I've gotten them due to water seeping into gaps. :( It made my nails a skosh flimsier, but nothing else happened. Never treated (because it dies when murdered by acetone and air) and it never treated anywhere, crawled anywhere, or infected anything or anyone else. Fungus, however, is a brutal nightmare I've thankfully never had myself!
Eh. This bacteria group is actually huge. Can cause green or BLUE urine from UTI and itâs often the culprit of HAI, Hospital acquired infections which are often deadly. It can be found in water, soil, and in and on our skin.
For most folks, yes. Itâs not a big deal at all. But it can spread and does often kill.
When I see lifting and itâs a rare occasion when I have no time, Iâll grab my drill, remove the lifting, dehydrate/sanitize the small area with alcohol, then quickly cover the area in clear gel to seal things off. It doesnât always look the best, but it prevents this issue.
Same. After i had this happen once with regular nail polish, im so careful when having my nails done for longer than a week or two
Thanks for the tip! It happened to me for 1st time with my last set! That's such a good idea
I do the same thing. Unfortunately clients donât get this luxury unless the book a nail repair which I always encourage
Same here.
I had a situation that escalated about 2 years ago. I hit my nails on my left hand twice within 2 weeks and didn't think much about it. It hurt like hell but I never suspected I had damaged them and tht I had lifting. The issue was that my gel was cover so I couldn't see what was going on underneath. When I was doing a refill, I couldn't see any lifting so I just proceeded with the application. A week later I felt burning pain in my nails and decided to remove everything to see what was going on. I had little droplets of blood under the nails that turned into brown lines as the nails were growing (about 2-3 weeks in total of growth) and the greenies started appearing. Thw problem was that because of all this my nails started separating from the nail bed...horrible. I cut them short but didn't dare remove the gel because my natural nails are as thin as paper. Slowly they were growing and I kept cutting the free edge and at one point the infection was bad. It started affecting the healthy tissue. So I used regular vinegar eveey day for 20 minutes for a week and the infection was gone finally. After this incident, if I feel something is wrong with the nail, I don't wait but take off the product immediately. If I hit my nails, O wait maximum 3 days for the pain to stop and then remove the product. I also stopped using cover gels as it is easier to see what's going on under the material when the gel is clear. I like that you show this can happen to anyone đ€
Lifting is serious. I got a crazy infection from hitting my nail. It was literally full of pus all around the nail. & it wouldnât stop. I had to keep cleaning it daily and the nail finally fell off like 2 weeks later
I always use clear builder gel just so I can keep an eye on anything going on. I can paint any color I want over the clear, so I just don't even bother with anything but clear builders
Clear iodine is wonderful to use on nail separation from nail bed. Keep the nail dry as much as possible. After shower, dry nail and re-apply iodine. It works because iodine will work on the infection as the nail grows back.
No one asked for an essay
@@KAAKKK no one asked you to read the essay or comment on it either :)
Oooooh, I love the combo of these colors!!!
I donât trust myself to be able to lay down the foil like that tho, so I might cut it in shards for an easier application.
But the end result will still be the same comboâŠ
Saving this for a future look! Maybe around new yearâs, cuz itâs darkness and vibrant colors like when fireworks go off at night at midnightâŠ
Wow now that is a transformation. I love this design. You are so talented and creative. Thank you for sharing your beautiful design.
Wow I never would have thought to use those skinny dual forms (I bought them a while back and they fit two of my fingers) as a dual tip! Thank you so much. The design looks amazing!
My favorite design youâve done. That is how much I love this.
I have never heard such a relaxing voice talking about an infection before. đ If only the news was reported like this, I might be able to handle it.
I just love when nails start to grow out and you can see the Gap between the artificial nail and your real nail, guess Iâm a little wried which Iâm totally fine with!!
Bahaha sameeee
I like it too! But no longer than 3 weeks for me, or my nails go to lifting hell.
I really like your technique of using the form for the gel as the extension and then adding builder gel on top for more strength
I am honestly surprised I donât have greenies more often, as I do a lot of hand and dish washing.
The one time I DID have themâŠ. I think it was beach related? Maybe?
Thank you for also keeping us informed on the less fun side of this hobby.
Some times these things just happen, but if you know what to do about them: itâs not such an issue.
I Think some peopleâs nails reject product more than others. Been watching a lot of tatyanaâs videos and she seems to run into lifting issues when she does her own nails. Normally itâs issues with the tech but since sheâs really great, itâs probably just her own nails
@@Frosting1000 yes! One of my regular clients got greenies all the time when she was pregnant, but never any other time. It was crazy!
@@Frosting1000
I definitely have heard that different brands can go with different people.
I had lifting issues A LOT. But then I changed brands and now I hardly have any lifting.
The guy at the nail products store told me that some times itâs about matching the right brand with the right person. Heâs had many costumers switching brands and suddenly no more lifting.
I have noticed that one particular powder always gave me lifting, but it didnât matter witch monomer I used.
@@Frosting1000
However, lifting and greenies are two separate things.
You donât ALWAYS get greenies with lifting. I sure donât.
@@themurrrr I agree with all these points, thereâs a lot of factors that contribute to it. And yeah, maybe some pplâs products/nails/lifestyles are more prone to greenies? Idk
Absolutely love your channel and your work! Would love to see a gray & pink design. đ
You are going way too long between fills - thats how you get so much lifting and greenies.
Yeah, she spends all her time working on clients.
Beautiful set!!! Definitely a great way to come up with new ideas!! Those shoes were definitely cute!!! đ„°đ„°đ„°

I absolutely love that colour combination.đ
What agreat twist to the aurora nails! Love them so much!
Love your channel, I watch every upload! Could you please explain the difference between acidic and nonacidic nail primers? Also where and when to use each one? Much appreciated, thank you!!đ
Iâm obviously not your target but when I was taught, acidic primers will chemically microscopically etch the nail to create the very fine texture which the product will adhere to. A non acidic primer wonât do that, it will instead act as a double sided sticky tape (called a double covalent bond) which will help adhere the product to the natural nail
@@DendeDog That was a great explanation that I easily understood. Thank you.
Oh I really love this design. So chic!
This is beautiful! Is there a reason why you didnât do your thumb?
I do my own gel nail extensions and some how never had greenies. But I almost always fix nails right away. And I almost always do a whole new set. But I'm hard on my nails, I go white water rafting and kayaking, caving, and skiing in the winter.
How do you get so many greenies? As a professional this grosses me out.
Omg same! đł
Un cleanliness probably. Her nails lift constantly and bacteria gets trapped in between, leading to infection. This is supper easy to get if your nails lift and you keep on washing dishes, cooking, etc without the appropriate tools or using gloves
Yeah wtf lol it's disgusting and NOT that common...
I used to get them a lot before I started routinely disinfecting everything I use even though I only use it on myself
Well one thing she is dipping her brush into her product and onto the infected nail and back into the product again. Spreading the bacteria to the entire pot of gel and product
I've been doing my own nails (with gel) for years and I've never had a greenie?
I was thinking the same thing. Wondering how this could happen? đ I prep each nail as best as I can and use the best products I can get and thank God this has never been a problem for me
The uploader most likely doesn't keep their tools clean. So the greenies aka fungus keeps spreading. I hope she doesn't do other people's nails. đ€ą đ€ź She needs to clean her shit ASAP and ever time.
They occur when the nail lifts so moisture is trapped between the fake and real nail
@sari that's my point exactly, the nail shouldn't be lifting like that at all. Also why not remove all the material, sanitize everything and start fresh? Just a thought đ€đ
These nails are GORGEOUS! đ€
WOah that design looks so cool!
Stunning as always. đ€đ
Hi I love all your videos! I've been watching every video everytime u upload!
I thought if you have the greenness you had to remove all product until it grew off the nail. Is this true? Also could it spread to the other nails by using the same bit or file? Thanks...This design is beautifulâŁ

Those nails are a trip! Love them!
I do my own and have for 3 years. Iâm a nurse and never have gotten a greenieâŠâŠI donât understand how you get them so much being youâre a professional. No hate Iâm honestly curious. I love your content.
Yes I agree completely, been doing my own nails for years and never gotten greeniesâŠ.i love Tatyana and her work but she gets greenies a lotâŠđł
She must just be prone to it.
This isn't the matter of being prone to bacterial infection. It's the matter of a really unprofessional and irrational attitude, which is touching the infected nail and the rest of the nails with the same brush. The bacteria spreads a lot and quite fast
No, there are definitely mistakes happening here.
Her biggest mistake was just not immediately taking care of the lifting that happened, since her issue arose from moisture getting inside that and taking advantage of the small, warm and moist environment. Not a major issue, just a matter of procrastination, which I think a lot of nail techs experience when it comes to their own nails.
I LOVEEE these!! đđđ
Never heard of a greeny before. Learn something new every day.
Where do you get the fiberglass gel from?
OMG! those nails are amazing
Love your videos! You have taught me so much âșïž
Oh wow, I'm no expert but if i had a greenie on my nail, i wouldn't put anything on or over it until that went away. They look so gross đ . Love the end result though. Also you should do asmr coz your voice is very soothing.đ
I personally think your nails look so much better when they are Short. But regardless, wonderful job as always â€ïž
I do, too!
I had this last week! I bashed my pinky on a door frame and forgot about it. Apparently it lifted/cracked just enough to get moisture in it without looking or feeling wrong and when I took off the dark gel polish to find... green!
Basically did the same thing but smashed my nail hard then used super glue to keep the chip from falling off. Two days later a little green. I honestly had to wonder if it was a bruise or greenie but yep, slight greenie. No biggie but my fault for using glue! Ya do what ya gotta to not ruin a mani before a huge event đ€·đ»ââïž
*LOVE THESE!!*
How does one get the greenies? I have never had a nail infection in my life.
Well, also true that I have never had nail extensions either, I have always done my own manicure at home.
So, how can you tell if it's a "greenie" or fungus?
So, I just had this happen with my last set of nails. I only use nails and glue, and then paint them. To get rid of the green I only need to put acetone on them?
Do I just skip putting on nails for a couple weeks and just use polish only or can I go back to normal right away?
Great design!
Love those they look so cool đ đ
I would love to learn acrylics and gels - especially such a pretty design like this. My problem is that I change my polish and designs so often, I'd be burning through product like crazy doing it every week! I'll paint my nails and do a design and then 3 days later I wanna change them again. It's a STRUGGLE to make it an entire week sometimes before i plop down at my desk and go at it again. I can't FATHOM keeping the same manicure for weeks on end
totally understand which is why I learned to do my own nails.
girrrlllll, I had a tiny greenie when I took down my set today. luckily it was tiny and I caught it quick
This is so unique! How do we know the difference between satin and velvet matte top coats? Iâve never seen it on a label beforeâŠ
I was wondering too. I do see velvet matte listed on labels ofte , but rarely see satin matte or brands that offer two different matte finishes, normally just a velvet matte.
I don't think there's a difference. Pretty sure it's just called differently by different people. I could be wrong but in all my nail time I've never seen any options when it comes to a matte top coat other than a laquer vs gel.
I ran into this with a client. She came in with nails on from somewhere else. I took her gel polish off and 4 out of 5 fingers had green under the nail like you show here. How can you tell that isn't fungus? I didn't know how to determine it so I removed all her existing product, cleaned and dehydrated as best I could but sent her home without acrylic nails cause I didn't know how to tell if it was greenies or fungus. The entire nail bed was dark, vibrant green like moss colored
Lifting is caused when the initial layer with the tip was applied, no product should touch the sidewalls let alone be cured. The natural nails look to have a good c-curve but there is no apex applied in subsequent layers to prevent cracking and additional lifting in the stress area.
Can you let me know where you got the buffing block you used in this video?
May I ask which ACID primer you use? I need one really bad.
so pretty đđ
Stunning nail's Tatyana đđđ đ
Really like these â€ïžđđ đŒđ
How do you make the difference with a fungus ?
If you were getting greenies that often do the lifting you need to change your product line. The line that I use there is very little lifting on any client. That's gross.
What line do you use then?
Ugh I'm going through this now I got rid of it but it came back and I lost all my nail
I would just leave it bare and let it air out fully
Omg, some of the misinformation in this comment section. đ€Šââïžđ€Šââïžđ€Šââïž Yes, it's perfectly fine to use product on a nail that has a greenie. As long as it hasn't advanced beyond what's shown here, it's fine. Make sure all the lifting is filed off and the nail has been cleaned and it'll be fine. Do not try to file off the green. You'll just end up damaging your nail. If it's worse than what's in this video or if it's black, you need a doctor's attention asap. No, your nails don't need to "breathe". They're dead tissue. They don't have lungs. They can't be repaired other than a whole new nail growing out to replace the old one. Nail products themselves do not damage your nails. The damage happens with prep, usually over-filing the natural nail prior to product application. Y'all, please seek out actual information on this issue. Misinformation can be dangerous.
Lol @ "they don't have lungs". I couldn't help but laugh đ
@@mahlatse8605 I heard that one from Kirsty Meakin a few years ago and it really stuck đđ€Ł
Pseudomonas is extremely contagious so yes those files and every product that can't be sterilized must be thrown away
Actually, latest research suggests coatings shouldn't be applied on top of greenies
@@KA-vd9wm I thought that was an obvious one so I didn't list it. But knowing people these days, I shouldn't just assume that they know anything lol
How can you tell the difference between bacterial and fungal? Love this design.
Fungal nails are brittle and falling apart like tree bark. Greenies are just discoloration.
I just want to know what the gel is at 2:32
I tried to look through the links and couldnât find it so if anyone knows Iâd appreciate it!
Never had this my clients always message me as soon as they notice lifting and I get them in that evening to fix it. So I must be doing something right seeing my clients have never had greeny/infection area. So handy to know though incase it does happen as some clients might not bother messaging to say they have lifting.
Please don't. This doesn't really cures the infection, and you could end up spreading it to the other fingers, or even to your other clients. Infections need to get properly treated with medication and let to rest for a while, or your clients could end-up losing the nail completely (it happened to my mom in 3 of her fingernails)

Hey! Have you got any suggestions for someone who's allergic to gel (I've had allergic reaction to Kiara sky gels and Rosalind polygel since allergy started)? Is there some kind of non allergic gel?
Technically there's a gel called Bio gel that is less allergenic than traditional gels. It is only available to salons that are certified to carry it, I think (at least in the US). But you could find a salon near you and have them do one nail with it to see if you react.
You may also try products that strictly say they are HEMA free, as that is known to cause reactions.

@@cassandra6315 no need for a rude comment
@Eddie Wayne but arenât your nails super weak, thin, and brittle if you donât give them a break? Why do some technicians give this recommendation then?
@Eddie Wayne Its important to take a break from nail enhancements every three to six months. This will give your nails a chance to strengthen and rejuvenate and enable you to apply products and supplements that benefit their growth and strength. Breaks are especially important if your natural nails are damaged or dry to begin with. However, nail enhancements should not cause any long-term damage so long as correct preparation, maintenance (every two to three weeks), aftercare, and removal procedures are followed.

It's most likely the pressure from the apex moving towards the free edge more and more. You may also be using too much product, which used to cause soreness for me, but there's no way to know without seeing your nails.
Gel and acrylic both shrink when they cure. It doesnât hurt at first but your first full set is gonna be sore. It should go away after a few days and shouldnât come back until you have the fake nails removed, spend some time with no extensions and then have a new full set put back on.
