just go the h5. great video. i updated the software to 2.1. for record options, i do not have mp3, just the wave formats. it did not have mp3 options before i updated the firmware either.
GREAT tutorial! Would you recommend under Record Mode to have it set at stereo file when doing voiceovers rather than multi file since I can get 96 kHz instead of 48 kHz like you explained. Thank you for your insight!
Hello, sorry I wanted to ask I am classical musician, and I want to record for audition, and I don't know which I have to choose stereo or multi. Maybe can explain me?
So I've begun to record a few demos pieces. But on playback I hear a loud beep at beginning. How do I stop that from appearing? Not sure where to go in menu to adjust that record playback annoyance. Thanks
Hi, Thank you for this. On my Zoom H5, both the 1 and 2 lights for XLR come on simultaneously and go off the same way. I am unable to just keep one or the other on alone. Is this something perhaps that is just on a newer model of the H5? In all the videos I’m watching, they are generally on one at a time, if you only have one mic plugged in to the XLR jack.
..and one more question...Can you record in Stereo with the XLR mics? I am sometimes asked by an agent to send them an mp3 file rather than a wav. Since you can't record an mp3 in multi mode, is it safe to recored an mp3 in stereo with an XLR mic? I have a CAD E 100S. Thanks, agian.
Hey there , When I connect my Sennheiser E945 microphone to my H5 the sound just comes out of Left side of the speaker. So can you just let me know what settings should I do to get volume from both side.
Excellent video. Concise and packed with all the essential information.
Just bought an H5, thanks for this tutorial.
This vid was INCREDIBLE!
This has been a huge help, great presentation dude.
Have you played with channeling directly to the camera to avoid syncing in post?

48 is fine and you'll want to mix down to mono in post processing anyway for VO which you already know ;)

I love my h5 but the "shock mounts" for the XY capsule that comes with it are not reliable.
Awesome job, perfect place to get me started recording!

Is it possible to transfer a recording from Zoom H5 to Mac Final Cut Pro?
does anyone know if you can power the H5 thru the DC usb instead of using batteries??
Yes you can use the USB connector to juice it up

Add another mic to get stereo - you are only using 1 channel ( xlr input ) with 1 mic hence only i speaker outputs sound.
Can I just get one video without fluff
Yes, this one. It could’ve been organized better but he’s informative the whole time
