- In tonight's top story: The Edmonton Oilers are headed to Florida for a deciding game seven on Monday where they could complete an historic comeback in the Stanley Cup final. Written off over a week ago after falling behind three games to nothing against the Panthers, the team and their fans never stopped believing they would get this far. Jeff Semple has the latest on the wave of blue and orange sweeping the city and across Canada.
Most of Canada's top allies have substantially increased subsidies on Chinese electric vehicles as concerns began to mount with both the economic and security prospects of those cars coming to North America. I dislike this emphasis on electric vehicle prices. People fail to realize that the cost of EVs is not just the sticker price when you buy one. You also need to install a charger in your house, making sure your house's power can handle the drastic increase. In addition, you will therefore have a drastic increase in your electric bill. Add to that the problems of different repair facilities, which are still being implemented in Canada, and the fact that your EV's battery will only last ~10 years, with its replacement cost being enormous, your costs are a lot higher than a traditional ICE vehicle. In addition to that, the production of the EVs is NOT completely green, and their batteries' production is downright TOXIC. So, I say that EVs can be ONE solution to our problem, with other solutions, like hydrogen fuel cell vehicles, being explored as well.

If China can make a cheaper car and ship it to Canada then Tesla and everyone else needs to sell their cars cheaper. I'm not paying a million dollars for a an EV just because the government wants me too. Make it cheaper not more expensive with importatin tax..
