  • Fukuzumiro Ryokan was established in the Meiji Era 1890.
That makes it over 100 years old! The hotel itself is a wonderful experience with very homey style interior that feels very welcoming.
The best thing about it is the fish pond right in them middle of the corridor! Eeeek!
The onsen pool, although small and not the most grand looking, is quite decent with natural spring water pumped from 100m underground. It feels really good and could relieve all the stress build up.
Breakfast and dinner is served in-room in multiple courses. The food is delicately extravagant with top quality beef and seafood. Both meals are filled with traditional Japanese produce and cooked in an authentic way.
There is plenty to door in the area, the shopping street is very entertaining with weird and wonderful things. If you want to venture out, you can always do the Hakone pirate cruise or head to Owakudani for those Sulfur eggs they boil in spring water. Too bad it wasn't the right weather conditions for it that day, but I'll definitely come back to visit again! I visited in April, during the Sakura cherry blossom season.
I was here for the weekend and I absolutely would recommend it anyone who will be visiting Japan.

I stayed there last year and it was one of the highlight of the trip. I will never forget that day, it I felt like I went back in time and the staff is the nicest people I've ever met. Highly recommended!

    昭和感万歳の旅館いいですね。天気が悪くなって残念。箱根は冬に行くと雨が少なくて良いですよ。

Thanks so much for this video! I was looking at booking this onsen ryokan in October and you did fantastic job detailing the room and local area. Much appreciated!

Beautiful Ryokan Lisa! Would absolutely love to stay there! 😃 Hakone is quite a charming place, great onsens and lots of sightseeing places from what you showed. I was really close to staying in hakone actually but went with Lake Kawaguchiko instead because of Mt Fuji views. For that quick trip out of tokyo, Hakone is a great option!
    (P.S. I seeeee youuuu with those snaccks 👀 😂😂😂)
