    Here are a few tips:
    1. Always have the daily discussion with your friends it will level up your friendship
    2. You already figured out the favourite gifts, keep that up
    3. Every friend has a role, for example if you chose fishing for them always have them with you (= hang out) when you are fishing, it will level up your friendship and get you more fish, gardening more crops, mining more gems and so on
    5. Crops will make you money, plant 99 crops, pumpkins are the best (buy at goofy in forgotten lands), but you can start with what you can afford like onions (goofy at forest) and then okra (goofy at swamp) is good once you can afford the seeds and have your gardening friend with you when harvesting!
    4. Keep digging those glittery holes and clearing the thorns, you will need a lot of dream and night shards
    Have fun playing 😊

      @carissavanschie Před rokem +4

I like to just have someone with me always regardless of their role. Even if you have a fishing friend with you and you are doing gardening, they will still level up, just a little slower. The only time I seek out specific roles is pretty much for gardening. Otherwise, I'll just choose someone with the lowest level to hang out with me. The other thing I have been doing is making sure I have one of each role and them making the rest gardening companions. Thats my preference anyway.

I mean, you have to craft it to dream light in one of Merlin’s missions, but other than when the quest asks you to, I fully agree. Unless you have a lot. I never used mine so at one point I had two stacks of 99, so I did make some of them into dreamlight, but still had a lot left, and I keep getting more, so I didn’t regret it. I have more than I need of them. Same with rocks, they took up a whole chest, so I had to get rid of some, it’s so easy to get more 😂

Some extra tips! That I haven’t seen anyone else mention yet at least 😂
    1. Stock up on clay, stone, grass, all types of wood and especially iron. You’re going to need a lot of it for different quests.
    2. If a crop is starting to glow, start spam clicking it cause as long as it’s glowing you can harvest the crop over and over until it stops glowing. You’re doing great so far ☺️
Bonus. Something that took me quite a while to figure out was that you don’t need to stand by a well to travel to another well. You can just freely travel to them no matter where you are

Two really helpful tips people told me are that flowers are the best gifts to give (besides the favorite gifts of the day) and if you want to try to find a resource, the collection tab tells you what biome it’s in!

  • @Mirmir009
    @Mirmir009 Před rokem +56

    Haven’t finished watching but…
    1) check on the character tab on the menu under collections for which roles your friends have; this also shows the favorites for the day without having to go to all friends. Hanging out with your friend while doing their assigned role will get them more exp and you will have a chance of getting more than 1 of the item from the activity ( mining 1 more of last item dropped, definitely most helpful with farming as you can get almost double your crops when the friend is maxed out)
    2) each animal has a favorite food and special way to approach. Ex: Rabbits you will need to chase till they stop.
    3) Farming = money maker.
    4) all storage boxes are connected when you craft or cook(no need to keep items on you.
    5) may want to put a bench and stove outside to save load times.
    6) save dream shard, later quests need lots of them.
    7) stock up on iron as soon as you can mine it LOTS of later quests need a TON of iron.
    8) don’t put off leveling friends as there is stuff locked behind them(upgrades and such)
    9) unlocking friends can be more beneficial sometimes via the new biome.
    10) pretty much everything on the map can be moved, so don’t be afraid to redesign the village to suit your needs. :)

Haven’t felt about a game since ACNH, the clearing out of night thorns is akin to cleaning the weeds.
    Tips;
    1. Treat the map fast pass like Elden Ring once you open a realm in castle you don’t need to enter castle to reach realm.
    2. Hoard all the gems that aren’t Shiny.
    3. You may have heard of the extra grindy friendship clock quests by now - with Scar update you get a lot of needed items needed for that clock quest so save yourself the headache.
    4. Make everyone a farmer (mining/fishing are good back up)
    5. Goofy has outside crafting station besides his home saves time from entering building/also placing chests outside helps storage also quick way to meet item requirements for Scrooge beauty up the scenery quests.
    6. The collection screen can let you know characters preferred gifts without talking to them/also lets you know areas where you can find fish/flowers.
TL/DR hoard all the things and get rich via pumpkins.

  • @dancesmokesmile344
    @dancesmokesmile344 Před rokem +5

Remember to always do the daily discussions (like the “do you need anything?” To wall-E) at least until you reach max friendships with the different characters. You should also make and deliver food at Chez Remy after you get him back and open it to work on the friendships with villagers :) And I’m not sure if you have figured it out yet, but just in case; to feed and befriend the rabbits, follow them when they run from you. They will stop until you catch up, then run again. Just keep following, and pretty soon after it will say “interact”. You should feed them carrots, that’s their favorite food, though if you don’t have any, they do like basil too. Squirrels like peanuts best, but apples work. Blueberry for raccoons (move super slowly). White Stungeon for foxes (salmon also works, run after like with bunnies). For turtles, stand still until they stop hiding their head, and feed them seaweed. Crocodiles like lobster (or another fish fishes in the area the crocodiles live in), and the birds like a white flower I don’t remember the name of.

X Have at least ONE villager as your digging buddy Unless you really enjoy digging lmao.
X DIG IN THE GLADES WHEN IT RAINS! You will thank me! ABUNDNANCE of clay here. A villager is going to be asking for a LOT of clay at some point
X Have a villager stuck to the hip when you're running around doing quests, think about what the quest wants you to do (IE mine rocks) and grab the right companion!
X !! If you have quest collection items (IE Wood sticks) but the quest prompt isn't updating try to drop the items on the ground and pick them up. !!! (BUG FIX)

Yay fun!! A tip I have used, my whole house is basically a ton of chests. You can craft them for relatively cheap, they don't store a ton, but I love to hoard, and it has been quite useful thus far. There's some really tough quests where you'll need tons of stuff, so I'd definitely recommend just keeping a bunch of everything, only sell excess stuff (i.e. i have a stack of 50 for every vegetable in chests for cooking, anything i grow now i can sell!) - never sell your wood (esp hardwood) or stones! you'll never have enough trust me hahaha, i finally feel like i have enough but i've done everything possible in the game now lol

If you go to the menu that shows you all of your quests, recipes, collections, there is a tab called “event” where you can collect the Halloween items using those blue moon tokens you find. The blue moon tokens can also be exchanged for more pumpkin tokens to redeem stuff (it’ll be at the bottom of the screen, just look for it).
If you fish and have your fishing rod go outside of the fishing circle you will collect seaweed and sometimes a common fish that isn’t worth much.
Flowers are the best gift outside of favorites and will level up characters quickly especially at lower levels.
While cooking you will also see recipes at the top left of your screen where you can navigate your recipes and the ingredients used to make them.
The most exciting thing for me was if you go under the furniture tab anywhere in the world not just in your house you have complete reign over decoration such as moving buildings, removing/ adding paths and even shrubbery/trees, fencing. The decorative items will tell you whether they can be solely inside or outside! Hope this helps (:

seaweed is needed for a bunch of quests to make fiber. however, it takes a long time to respawn on the beach which makes it hard to complete your quests.

I've done all the quests so far for this game and leveled up all the characters, i can tell you that you rarely need the shiny versions of the gems. Those can be sold for money. I would keep a stack of the normal gems around just in case. You can make multiple chests to put in your house, along with your house storage. So hoard some items, sell the rest. Farming is good for making money, as is fishing and shiny gems. You can keep everything in chests, when you craft or cook, it takes it out of your chests without you keeping it on you. Fishing, mining, and gardening are some of the better skills to give your characters. Foraging and digging takes way too long to level them up. I regret giving one of the characters foraging, and another digging. Though they are helpful to have to get more items when you forage or dig, if you're looking to get extra items. Yes, everything in a zone respawns daily. Including the thorns, though the thorns only respawn in one zone a day once you unlock everything and clear all the thorns out. If you look at the Collections tab, you'll find some useful info about items you've collected. Where to find certain flowers, what the daily gifts each character wants, etc. I'll stop rambling now haha! I'm still watching the video, so not sure if you've discovered all of these throughout playing yet.

Loving this play through so far!!! Some super helpful info that I had to look up when playing my own game is what the animals like and how to approach them:
(also if theres a better way to explain something feel free to add on)
Squirrels- love peanuts, but fruit is ok; you can just walk right up to them
Rabbits- love carrots; you have to walk up to them and then chase them around a few times
Sea turtles- love seaweed; when they duck their head into their shell, just stand there and wait, once they poke back out you can feed them
Spoilers(?) for the rest of the biomes in the game
Crocodiles- love lobster; as you approach its kind of a stop and go game. as you get close they will perk their head up (thats when you stop), and once they put their head back down then you can take a step, and rinse and repeat until you are close enough
Raccoons- love blueberries; same game as Crocodiles
Sun Birds- each bird loves a different flower; you should be able to walk right up to them
Emerald Sunbird - Green Passion Lily
    Golden Sunbird - Sunflower
    Orchid Sunbird - Pink Bromeliad
    Red Sunbird - Red Bromeliad
    Turquoise Sunbird - Pink Houseleek
Foxes- love white sturgeon; same as the rabbits chase (but maybe a bit longer)
Ravens- love any 5 star meal; as you approach them they fly up and fly in a few circles, once they come back down you are good to go

  • @xoxMarit
    @xoxMarit Před rokem +5

A tip I can give is - don't mind the stars on the meals! They are set in stone, it has to do with the value of the meal. Like 5-star meals contain more ingredients.
Best way to level up friendships (in my opinion) are: 1. Talk to them every day (there is a text bubble prompt). 2. Give them their fav gifts as much as possible. 3. Serve them their meal in Remy's restaurant (highly recommend getting that ready). 4. Hang out with them and do ANYTHING (seriously, anything works!! the assigned task gives you more stuff, but ANY activity when with you will level them up - even if at a slower rate).
Also, when you don't have a task or are a bit stuck - go gather resources and put them into chests, you will need it! Anything works, rocks, iron, wood, even flowers - you name it.
Tips for animals/critters: some of the animals require a certain approach.
Squirrels you can just approach (and when standing still they will approach you), they like fruit but peanuts are their fav (buyable from Remy).
Sunbirds are the same, you can just approach them. They like flowers, but each bird has a certain flower they like (although I gave them any and still befriended them).
Crocodiles and Raccoons you have to approach like a tarantula/scorpion in ACNH is the best way I can describe it lol. When they bop their head down (for the second time) take a step, they will pop up their head again and then look down again, take another step and continue until you are close enough to approach. Crocodiles like seafood, their fav is Lobster (golden spots in Glade of Trust). Raccoons like Blueberries (Forest of Valor).
Sea Turtles will hide when you get close to them, just wait about 5 seconds and they will come out of their shell. They like Seaweed, just cast your line anywhere (doesn't have to be a fishing spot) and you can get seaweed easily.
Foxes and Rabbits will run away from you, just chase them around and after about 3-4 times you can approach. Rabbits like Carrots, obvs and Foxes like fish, fav is White Sturgeon (golden spots in Frosted Heights).
Once you unlock Forgotten Lands there are Ravens. When you get close, they will circle for a couple seconds and you can approach them. Ravens like.... wait for it.... 5-star meals (yep, you read that right) their favs are Large Seafood Platter and Arendellian Pickled Herring.

I'm SO glad you made Wall-E a gardening companion. The companion stuff is REALLY terribly explained, but Wall-E is the BEST gardening companion. And when things glow yellow, you can harvest them a bunch of times. Just be careful not to accidentally talk to your companion...Wall-E never gets close enough to you while harvesting to accidentally talk to instead of harvesting an item
Also! You'll get seaweed by fishing wherever there aren't bubbles...you need quite a bit of seaweed since it makes fiber, but the game never tells you how to find it. As for the bubble colors, there are certain types of fish that show up in different colored bubbles, so its good to try to fish in all three types

    1) Invest heavily in farming, you'll never want for money and you will need a lot of money. 2) Hang out with a companion when doing stuff (esp farming) and they level up even if it's not their assigned skill. If it is their skill, you get extra from what you're doing. 3) You can sell everything, even meals. 4) You can learn new meals by experimenting, and it's often intuitive. Great for energy, even combining just fruit in the starting area. 5) build storage boxes, Stardew rules - keep a few of everything for quests and crafting. 6) crafting is easy, taking items out of storage boxes automatically.

I have a tip of you looking for one: The importance of Friendship.
Like any Disney game, the importance of Friendship is a big game mechanic and can unlock useful things. You can look at the residents of your Valley in Collection Tab. Characters will be the first one. This tab is very useful and I am constantly referencing it because you can get a lot of useful information including Friendship Level, Favorite Gifts, Friendship Track, Quest requirements, and Profession. Lets talk about each one:
Friendship Level - this is the level you have with the resident in your Valley when you invite them to live with you. You can look at the immediate level in the bottom left of the interface and the reward you will get if you reach the next level. If you want to see all the possible reward, you can hit the A button to look at the Friendship Track. There are multiple ways of increasing this including talking to the resident, Hanging Out with them, giving them their Favorite Gifts, giving them their order at Chez Remy, and helping them with quests.
Favorite Gifts - Every day, each resident has three favorite gifts that the player can give them to help boost Friendship Level. These gifts can include collectibles found around Dreamlight Valley, including areas you have not unlocked yet, and meals that can be made at any cooking station. You can gift a resident anything but Friendship Levels are boosted more if the item is their Favorite Gift. Personal observation: I have noticed that the residents have a rotating set of gifts they enjoy with a max of 7 - 10 items.
Friendship Track - Each resident has an experience bar that increases that you increase their Friendship Level. It starts out at 1 and maxes out at 10. Each level increase will reward the player with a variety of furniture, money (I think 500 gold at Level 3 and 1000 gold at level 7), costume or clothing options, and the level 10 always has a quest for the player to complete to reach maximum friendship. It is important to work of your relationship with the residents because certain story quests require a level friendship. EX: to get the Orb of Friendship, you need to have a Friendship Level of 5 with at least three different residents.
Quest Requirements - As mentioned above, some quest require the player to reach a certain Friendship Level with residents. The residents themselves have certain quest that become unlocked as their Friendship Level reaches certain levels. These are almost always a good thing for the player and some benefits include unlocking residents (Level 10 with Mickey) or enhancement to the Royal Tools. Ex: Merlin can enhance your Watering Can to get rid of Giant Mushrooms while Anna and Elsa enhance your Shovel and Pickaxe to get rid of Tree Stumps and Ice shards.
Profession - The player has Royal Tools they unlock early on in the game and certain residents allow you to increase one of five skills. When you Hangout with a resident, they will follow the player around and earn Friendship points every time the player does one of the five skills. Once the resident reaches Level 2, the player can assign a Profession to them meaning they can help the player with one of the five skills. If you Hangout with them and you complete their Profession, there is a chance they can find an additional item. Ex: Goofy has the Fishing profession and the player successfully reels in a fish. Goofy can find a copy of the same fish. The higher the Profession, the higher the chance of finding additional items. Note: Once a Profession is set, there is no current way change it for the player. The item will also be an exact copy of the collectible the player found.

    • @gregputnam7243
      @gregputnam7243 Před rokem

That was long but I think that is the gist of the Importance of Friendship for this game. A great way to increase Friendship is the Hangout system, Favorite Gifts, or giving them their Orders because it kind of like a fourth Favorite Gift. If I am typically doing a Resident Quest, I will ask that Resident to Hangout with me while I go around collecting the items they need to fulfill their quests. It does not work with every character and some character make it easier to find collectibles. Moana helps find fish and other Fishing collectible and Kristoff can help you find raw materials quicker and Wall-E can help you grow different vegetables.

Build chests to store pickups, hoard everything. Don't sell gems, everything you pick up, can possibly use as gift, or to construct something. Items stored in chests are used in construction and cooking, meaning you don't have to have them in your inventory
Always take a friend, while mining fishing farming etc, fastest way to level them up.

    3) check the quests tab because sometimes you run out of things to do and it’ll tell you how to progress in the game. sometimes for a certain quest you may need to unlock another area or character:)

A good early game tip is if you plant crops in the same area as the goofy stall you bought them from it grows faster than if you were to grow them at your house, because of this you can plant a lot more and then sell the stuff you don't need. This will help you with early game money and crop collecting for dishes.

best tips i found a few people may have mentioned as well:
    1. ALWAYS have a friend hanging out with you! anything you do will give them XP (more for their preferred activity)
    2. pick up everything, and just make chests to store things.
    3. not 100% necessary but grow where you sell. if you grow outside goofies stall you can sell and replant stuff far easier than running back and forth
    4. mining rocks respawn very frequently so if you need money fast do a few runs around the rocks and sell what you get (some people say to save the gems for something but I'm not sure why as they're pretty frequent)
    5. Have fun (I love your content and just thought id say thanks for the smiles) 😊

You don't HAVE to gift villagers their favorite gifts. I usually run around picking every flower available and using them as gifts. Gems and meals work the same way! Having them hang out with you while you run around fishing/gardening/mining is also a good way to get their friendship level up while still progressing the game!

One really helpful tip that I’ve learnt from playing this is that you can fast travel to the different realms! When you open the map to warp to a well there is a second tab where you can go straight to a character’s realm.
A tip I didn’t see in the comments is to always grab the foraging foods such as apples, raspberries and blueberries; they grow back pretty quickly and can be sold for a decent amount.
Also! When cooking there is a recipe tab in the top left corner which tells you what you need for a dish and if it has to be a specific item or is interchangeable.
You’ll need lots of seaweed for quests and building in the future; you can fish up seaweed anywhere in water that isn’t a bubble spot, the bubbles are just a 100% chance of getting a fish.
I hope this helps! I’ve loved playing this game and I love to see you enjoy it too ❤

-Chest in house for storage n can craft unlimited amount of chests
-Build friendship with scrooge to be able to upgrade your house
-it's better doing stuff with friend n more friendship points and bonus items if you do the thing you chose like fish with Mickey and garden with wall E
    - when a press u pops up do them straight away to get more daily tasks to do
    - time is real life time if you find its always dark when you play that might be why

Idk if you still want tips, but have one friend for each duty except foraging. After you have one of each, make everyone after farming. Farming in the middle game will rack in money especially with other biomes and you can level up friends super quickly when you’re planting like 200+ pumpkins a day.

I thoroughly enjoyed watching you play, Gab! I've been obsessed with this game for the last month! Crashing caused me to start all over again, but I've been enjoying it!
My tips for you: The recipes are all basically common sense...sort of. There are lists available online that help with all the recipes, but I had a great time randomly throwing things together and seeing what I came up with! Pasta, if I'm not mistaken, is wheat and tomato.
Also, your collection page will tell you where you can find each ingredient, even if you haven't unlocked it yet!
You still have a while before it becomes useful, but trust me...find a way to stock up on iron and clay (HINT: Start with the Glade!) early, and get a LOT of it!

    Very important tips: no spoilers
    1) don't sell mushrooms you'll need a ton of them so stock up
    2) some quest items can only be found by digging holes in the ground
    3) talk to all characters every day
    4) ask them to hang out, it's great not only to level up their friendship as you do things but also good to keep them close while you complete their quests

a couple of tips i have learned is to keep any night shards and dream shards, dont turn them into purified night shards or dreamlight unless you need them for a quest, there are a lot of quests that require the different shards and its kinda annoying to have to run around and find them lol. and also your cooking and crafting is linked to your chests, so you dont have to have the items in your inventory to be able to cook or craft

    A couple things ...
    1. Flowers will grow back. I believe it's about 10 minutes until they regrow and a max of 18 per 'biome' grow.
    2. Talk to each character a day. That will increase friendship. Give their favorite gifts for maximum friendship which change daily. Flowers are also a quick gift to increase friendship. Once at level 2 you can assign them a job and having them accompany you on that job will increase friendship as well as have a chance of double rewards.
    3. Early on, try to save about 10 of EVERYTHING! Later on aim for 30-50 or more for later quests. While playing you'll figure out the big use items like wood and iron.
    4. Mining is important. Don't forget!
    5. Squirrels favorite snacks are peanuts ( only purchasable from Remy restaurant later on) but they like apples as well. Rabbits favorites are carrots, turtles are seaweed, raccoons are blueberries, foxes are white sturgeon fish, hummingbirds are Flowers based on their colors, and the new ravens are 5-star meals.
    6. You can move or remove anything! So if there's a rock that you keep getting stuck on, remove it! You can always add them back when you're ready to decorate.
I hope these help you and anyone else who needs it. Have fun!

Gab, lol got a bunch for this one. You can give three items of the day once and after that the amount of exp it gives go down. Best thing to do to level them up is to ask them to hang out with you. They will gain small exp if it’s not their skill and if it is, you’ll get more and extra items. Try to unlock the new areas with Dreamlight asap because when you unlock the Forgotten Woods, you gain access to pumpkins. That’s your moneymaker. Leeks sell well also from what I can see. Dig the shiny spots when you see them , you might get the pink Dreamlight shards. Do NOT sell your gems unless you absolutely need to, I learned this the hard way. Some quests will ask for certain gems. Ummm, shiny gems don’t count towards quests unless my game is bugged. You can move whatever you want, wherever you want it. Literally anything, I’ve moved buildings all over creation and trees, and rocks. You can also do the trick where you unlock the fast travel wells and move those to get to certain areas that are unreachable. You’ll know when you unlock the Scar area. That one and Glade of Trust I moved the well so I could get quest items quicker. Not sure if I’m forgetting anything. Lol. Hope this helps!!
