😅 You don't "betray" anyone, just be you.
This is more like the next chapter of your life. Your biography continues. 🎉

You should never feel constrained by a label. They are a useful short hand to describe ourselves to others, but we should all recognize that with new experiences we may change. It is perfectly natural for us to reevaluate our identities throughout our lives, and you should never feel any guilt about that. I am so happy you have found love. No matter how you identify now or in future you deserve nothing but love and support.

sam this video feels so apologetic :( pls remember you did nothing wrong!!
you are in a relationship now yes but that doesn't take away that for years before that the aro/ace lables helped you understand yourself and advocate for this community - so many aro / ace people have all sorts of relationships with all sorts of feelings and its fine! its all good!! this is part of the spectrum too, you know? sexuality is fluid!! there's no wrong way to experience it! this also goes out to all gray aces nd gray aros who do experience some attraction some of the time and feel like they don't fit in anywhere: not with the aces and not with the allos either... but I'm here to tell you that youre always welcome in the community! radical acceptance! and if a lable doesn't fit anymore you can thank it for its service, take ot off and put it back on the shelf
    happy pride!

We're all on a journey and labels are only useful if they are helpful. Speaking as an aroace that followed you because of your aro/ace videos, it's not a betrayal, it's just your personal journey and it's perfectly fine. I'm here for you, not your labels ^^

It's more than perfectly normal to be unsure/still finding out who you really are. Props to you for being open and honest, as (from what I've seen in the Asexual Community) an expectation that once you have a label that you have to 100% committ to it forever. Anyone is allowed to re-evaluate, question, experience and experiment. I'd rather anyone question who they are rather stick with something they may not be. Life is about being comfortable and happy and being you.
I hope your journey to find who you are is an awesome journey and that whatever the outcome of it that you are happy above all else. The community and those around you are proud of you and will support you, always!
P.s. I loved your comment about 'having a boyfriend should not be a personality '. I think i need to relay this to quite a few people 😂

Thank you for having the courage to share this story. For me this seems like demi-romanticism and demi-ace so I feel you could still identify as aro-spec and ace-spec if you wanted to. But if the labels bring you nothing it's of course fine to drop them too.

thank you for sharing so honestly Samantha! i will have to say, as an aroace person currently dealing with some emotional reactions to a close friend dating someone (romance repulsion, fear of being less important in their life, etc.) I might have to pass over content with romance for a while. but I'm glad to hear you're happy

I am in my 40's and I use the label bisexual but label's are just that it can't explain all off you. I am happily married to a man that I want to spend the rest of my life with but at the same time I think that I am not bisexual but see all humans in the same way and just fall in love with their inner personality whether they are male or female if that makes sense.

I found your channel a couple of years ago during my own search for knowledge on a-romanticism. I know it can be fluent and that it might change for me. Or not. Who knows. I like your fresh approach and I like the person who I see in your videos. Thank you for being here.

The A-Team! Hahahahahaha. You probably aren't familiar with an early 80s tv show, but this is great and i ams stealing it. Also, I find that my asexuality fluctuates, but my aromatic is sold.

Someone did say to be once sometimes it's best not to put a label on yourself and I didn't for a while... not until it felt right 😊 to be honest I am not a fan of labels but I do know I am bisexual and it just so happens that label is more common and we'll know đŸ€·đŸŒâ€â™€ïžâ€

No matter what label you cling to, you have my support! Your aspec advocacy is always appreciated!
I've recently found myself questioning my place on the Aro spectrum. Usually, I'd just find someone's aesthetics attractive, but I tutored this cool girl at my job and really hit it off with her. We exchange texts, she seems comfortable around me, and she wants to see my band play a show. It's rare that I'd want to date someone, but this girl checks a lot of boxes for me. Of course, I'm kinda worried because I'm much older than she is, and I'm honestly not too good at this whole dating activity. We'll see how it goes.
And, no matter what label I may sync with, I will keep my Aro and Ace flag patches on my battle vest!đŸ€˜đŸ»â™ ïžđŸ’šđŸ–€đŸ©¶đŸ€đŸ’œâ™ ïžđŸ€˜đŸ»
