  • This is an animation I made using Lumion, the models are based on site maps of a site known as Gobekli Tepe. The site is in Turkey and is believed to be up to 12,000 years old. thanks for watching.

The pillars look like they supported a heavy roof.

Obviously they did this to have a good place to play Counter Strike 0.0 realistic. I can't believe this game is so old. You know, an 11,000-year-old multiplayer.

This could also be for a subfloor, or a basement.

Odd how those very strong stone pillars have the same configuration as the gravimetric landing anchor of a Nortrudan interstellar cruiser? You know the one with the refracting solar drive.

So was it built by hunter gatherers or did civilization start off before this time?

hunter gatherers, just before the real beginning of agriculture and later farming

Sir, I think you have just asked one of the most controversial questions of our age. For myself it depends on what one means by 'civilation;, and what one means by 'advanced' in that discussion. Personally I see it as they were a civilization mroe advanced than we have previously given them credit for. IMO given that before GT was discovered our difinition of 'hunter-gatherer' precluded anythign remotely like this from being possible, I think instead of asking if Gt was built by HGs, we need to re-think our conception of what we call hunter-gatherer cultures.

@@mathieuamigalithe7986 well the discovery of this site pretty much proved modern archeological and anthropological theory wrong. Up till gobekli tepe, it was believed that megalithic structures like this co-evolved with the invention of agriculture which they believed began around 3000BC. However this site predates those theories by 6500 years (9500BC)... So now this brings into question everything we have believed. Perhaps human civilization was far more advanced than we had previously thought. There is eveidence a global catastrophe occurred 1200 years before gobekli tepe was built, which suggests humanity was essentially reset by a massive global event and that gobekli tepe is essentially a legacy build from one of these civilizations. In the end no one really knows but its fascinating stuff

maybe just maybe people wanted to leave something behind so the new world would know of what was before the great flood an after to me it looks like a class room of sorts maybe we need to learn of their downfall no telling how many times this has happen in times of past ? an if we dont learn it will again
