Absolute gem of history there and nice to see the 4CORs in action. The dubbing is as close to accurate as was possible so massive respect for putting sound to the motion. Brings it truly alive!!👏🏾👏🏾😊😊👍🏽👍🏽
Dorking North (now Dorking), Dorking Town (then Dorking West, now closed?), Deepdene... couldn't believe our small town had three stations! Used to get the Dorking Town train to Redhill for college daily in the 80's!
Wondrous footage. And incredibly rare I’d say. The original and lovely Dorking north station, where I spent many many hours in the late 70s early 80s. $SUB and 4EPB in the sidings. I spent much time up in the signal box too. Is this your footage?
n136h I used to trainspot on dorking as a child and the Bognor and Portsmouth Harbour trains were the cause of great excitement. I was even allowed to help ensure all The slam doors were shut.

Dorking West is still here for no reason
This time is when Britain was proper Britain
Lovely footage. I hadn't realised that BEPs worked through Dorking.
Bognor Regis trains. They were so exciting when I was a kid
Woah! 4 COR UNIT-NESS!
By the late 70s they were usually only 4VEP/4CIG or 4BIG.

Never knew you could go direct to Portsmouth from Dorking
This route from Victoria via Dorking stopped in the 1970's.and went through East Croydon and Three Bridges to Horsham instead like today.
