I'm legit 99% convinced Tingyun has Destruction level taunt value. She gets hit as often as my Dan Heng IL or even my Jingliu when I use her with them.
The way I understand it (unless I'm completely wrong) is that Jingyuan's Lightning Lord is more of a manifestation of power than an autonomous entity, which is why it can't act while Jingyuan is stunned. Numby IS an autonomous entity, with its own personality, and therefore can act on its own, and why they're called Topaz AND Numby.

Clara and Blade are what my idea of a "destruction" character should be. the limited Erudition characters and hunt characters are for the most part what they are told to be and do that job pretty well. now the question is... They're the type of who lean in Strength over survivability, But they do have some Defence, Like my jingliu having 4500 hp 🙂 And my IL having 40% effect res 🙂
Destruction does have great survivability. If the enemies are dead, no one's gonna threaten your survival. I'm.more.concerend about the fact that half of the erudition characters have abilities that don't target every enemy and instead do blast attacks(Serval, Himako, QQ)
It's to create different set ups. Himeko is designed around breaking to charage follow up, Serval does bonus atks to shocked enemies (so it's kinda to keep her under control as a gen 1 4 star), and QQ... is QQ.
If you look closely at the "subscribe for more" light cone there is sushang being crushed at the bottom so basically this is her alternative signature(a term I came up with and almost every character has one).
I think celestial differentiator was made for yanqing or any character that increases their cr and have low cr to start. So for the first initial hit they do they can benefit from the added cr until they can buff themselves up for the rest of the fight.
1:53 Ok but here me out. Bronya’s Cramage support scales off her own Cramage. This set is good since it gives her 16% for free thus making her support stronger. And she does have guaranteed crit normals from her traces so the differentiator set is basically useless
broken keel gives perma 10 cdmg to the party and she already has eff res in her traces, her buff would only give 3% more off celestial and only during ult uptime

That set was only useable at the beginning of the games spawn for support Bronya. After Broken Keel was released, it lost any value it had lol. The only scenario this set could be useable is for the zero cycle runs. And even then it's hard to utilize

For jing yuan I would say that the lightning lord has to be summon (from what I understand story wise) to whereas numby is a "separate entity" from topaz ( idk just a theory)
Yanqing is part of the top 1% strongest people of the luofu possibly the entire xianzhou alliance but we haven't seen the other ships his only problem is that he exclusively fights the top 0.1% strongest people he doesn't stand a chance against but I'll give him one thing he tries at least he truly does his best and we know he's probably going to be general one day maybe after fu xuan

One thing that don't make sense to me, and maybe this is a thing in genshin, but why do we have credit requirements on top of other material requirements? This counts for leveling characters, ascension, lightcones and traces. As one who want to get multiple characters up and ready, I find it frustrating that I have to split my focus in both farming materials and keep an eye on having enough credits. I much more prefer to use my credits on healing materials, recipes and synthesize materials. Don't know if this is just me.
I think the reason why lighting lord cant attack if jing yuan is stun or something while numby can is that jing yuan summon lightning lord and numby is a different living being than topaz
Sometimes it feels like Celestial Differentiator is a set tailored to Yanqing, to give him the extra CR he'll need to crit in the first attack while he doesn't have Soulsync active, same reason why his signature LC has the same weird mechanic. But it's still not a good enough excuse to make it that bad, also 120% CD is SO high to reach if you're not running a CD body most times so having such a trashy CR increase is just plain dumb.

Single most annoying thing I have encountered is that you have to teleport around to heal your team when farming (if not using an abundance character). When you farm something (with say a Fu Xuan as sustain) then your team will drop hp after every round. It's really dumb that after like 2-3 rounds I gotta quit out of the menu, teleport to the next space anchor to heal up, teleport back and start the same run again, which is just a tedious and totally unnecessary process. I feel like after every paid run (paid with trailblazer energy) your team should heal to full hp.
the way I looked at that one Yanqing Trace that boost Effect Res was hoyo saying to build him with the effect res Orb and Rope set, and I'm inclined to agree. My Bronya and the rest of the team love their little support Yanqing, he may get bullied in that team too but he's supporting, just like how he supports the general

I feel like the celestial set was meant for Characters like yang jing or maybe jingliu, that buff their crit rate with their skill or similar. With celestial they gain CDmg to use with that Rate as well as crit rate for their first turn,where their buff isn't up yet. But yes balancing wise it is a bit weak,as sets like the one with CRate and skill/basic damage provides similar damage buff that also applies on non crit hits.
Even for jingliu it suvk. Jingliu need to be on transcend state to deal ton of dmg and missing 20% elemental skill dmg bonus from rutilant is quite a bad idea. Guess it artifact purely for farming daily creep on map. Wher u one shot them in one turn. Using technique SW, this artifact on himeko proc on follow up then enemy low 50% herta followup.
That electric god is summoned whilst numby is a partner. Makes pretty good sense to me. I mean if we do compare both, numby will literally be by topaz side when dying and that god doesnt do that for jingyuan, also his ultimate literally shows that god is summoned.
What makes no sense to me is how it takes salvaging ten whole 5* relics to synthesize just one. Just for the synthesizing RNG to be beyond trash. I wouldn't mind the number if they gave more ways to receive the self-modeling resin just so we could at least cope with a main stat or something.
The topaz preservation lc actually features aventurine on the right side if you look closely and aventurine will be imaginary preservation character so i dont think its THAT absurd (im coping btw)

I have celestial differentiator set on my Seele only because I have pieces with really good substat rolls. However, besides giving crit damage, it can be useful for her first ultie attack (if she has enough energy) to activate Herta's shop light cone effect
Regarding Gepard. Try moving around in a set of metal armor and carry around a person sized Guitar case looking metal shield. I'm surprise bro could even move at all.
Funfact- that sett is for Yanqing. That's his best because his first hit is so low, it literally doesn't crit. This takes care of it, and then after activating his passive ability his crit rate is sky rocketing, not needing anything else. On him you should only build crit damage either way, and this sett is the perfect sett for his shortcomings too.
Destruction path can attack at most 3 enemies, at least with their skill or ultimate. Some passive does attack everyone, but most Destruction only attack at most 3 enemies. While erudition can attack every single enemy, means 5 enemies in their kit, either in ultimate or their skill, or their passive.
What never really made sense to me is how Y’know how we have 7 5*s on the standard banner? And, 7 types, as well as 7 paths. So, okay, each character should get one path and one type? NOOOO. Gepard and Yanqing both have an ice element, and quantum isn’t on the standard banner.
As for Yanqing's Effect res is there so he cant become affected by anything for ONE TIME, That's the purpose of that thing, you cant just expect the enemies to ignore everyone or dont do a aoe debuff like kafka or something

Perhaps Celestial Differentiator would work on Yanqing? After all, his soul-steel buff needs a turn to become active, and you don't need much (if any) crit rate on him because of his self buffs. Probably not worth it because of some other sets (I haven't really looked into it, so idk), but that would be one use for it
1. celestial diff just needs a rework 2. aggro isn't just based on taunt value, lower health = higher aggro. try giving tingyun an hp% orb and she'd get hit less 3. eh destruction is fine, jingliu is just overtuned, IL needs high investment. 4. chonky oinky deals less damage than jy and is an independent unit while LL is a manifestation, jy is stunned, he can't manifest LL 5. i gen think they just realized late that letting hp scalers basic atk scale with atk is dumb so they fixed it too late 6. traces eh. 7. well!
Bailu hits with her tail, so it's seems logical that basic attack scale is ATK, and Gepard seems logic this way. Now HP scaleers: Linx is simplest - she uses her weight to deal as much damage as possible with her pickaxe. Let's see Fu Xuan I can explain her HP scaling, that she uses her "life energy" to attack.. maybe.. I can assume... Ok, next Huo Huo. This will be a little more interesting. I can assume that when *Tail* forces her to attack, her "swinging attacks" uses a little bit of her weight to deal at least some damage or as heliobus, he uses some of her actual life energy to control her.
Here is one you missed: Sushang’s Sword Stance proc is a fixed percentage. Even if she uses her technique or ult, that base percentage never increases, her ult just gives her an extra proc *attempt*. If her traces/eidolons/ult gave her a higher percentage for her Sword Stance to happen (even if they give it to her Technique), she would be able to make up for her inconsistent damage. I honestly think Qingque is more consistent than Sushang (Botha at E6) because of this. TLDR: plz buff Sushang’s Sword Stance proc Hoyo
Aggro value is real, but it’s done with math in a gacha game, if it’s not 100% it might as well be 50:50. for real though, Tingyun feels the way she does because she has the lowest defensive stats in the game, every hit she took will feel worse than any other character. And class aggro value differences are very small, it’s basically useless if it’s unbuffed. Path distiction is just there to divide which character gets which lightcones. Baliu gets damage reduction, Fuxuan gets healing, the only difference is the amount of healing and damage reduction they do. Tbf with that “funny” kit you mentioned, a lot of them are older characters, newer characters don’t have the problem of having wrong scaling in their kit. And with Yanqing i prefer using him with Fuxuan or Huohuo for their offensive value, you don’t even need Soulsync to be 100% on, just use skill before his ult.
for the lightcones, Subscribe for More, there's Sushang in it which makes it a hunt path Trend of the Universe has Adventurine in it which is Probably a Preservation unit in the future older lightcones have different logics behind them and then it got changed later on
Jingyuan. Simple Really, in the lore lightning lord tied to jingyuan itself or more like his summon really while numby is dumpy... It is it own entity not tied to topaz.
Me builds a team Trailblazer(P) - March - Clara - Tingyun i use Clara's ult so she is more likely to be attacked! i use March Skill on clara she is more likely to be attacked i position Clara between March and Trailblazer so that aoe attacks on either of them hit her as well! i use Traiblazers Skill to taunt enemies so that their AOE hits clara Enemy Gepard spawns 2 guards points at tingyun attacks Tingyun Tingyun dies (IT HAPPENED! and my friend was laughing!)
I use Celestial Differentiator on just Bronya, purely because of the Crit DMG boost. And while I don't have her E4 but in theory it would help with the Follow-up too.
Team idea Use Blade, Jingliu, Qingqiu and whatever other character you want in the last slot. All can have enhanced normal attack/skill and cannot gain SP when enhanced.
The path system is fine imo (for the most part). I'm not gonna talk on supports since i honestly think all supportive units (offensive and defensive alike) have been perfectly fitting in their roles. It's just that some have a niche on top of their main supportive class. So that leaves dps. The only true outliers are DHIL, jingliu, and seele. Cause all 3 are competing with other dps classes in their roles while still being best in slot in their own respective archetype. All other limited dps are fitting in their role. Jy, argenti suck in single target for the most part. Kafka is dot queen but not a crit hypercarry. Blade is the only limited destruction that follow the rules of the path. And topaz while having the niche of supporting foa units, she's still a single target carry through and through. The path system itself isn't an issue it's some outlier units that are imo.
That celestial differentiator is like royal set of weapon that from paimo's shop Like Whats the point adding crit but then remove the crit again for every hit😂😂😂

I much more prefer to use my credits on healing materials, recipes and synthesize materials. Don't know if this is just me.
I think the reason why lighting lord cant attack if jing yuan is stun or something while numby can is that jing yuan summon lightning lord and numby is a different living being than topaz
Sometimes it feels like Celestial Differentiator is a set tailored to Yanqing, to give him the extra CR he'll need to crit in the first attack while he doesn't have Soulsync active, same reason why his signature LC has the same weird mechanic.
But it's still not a good enough excuse to make it that bad, also 120% CD is SO high to reach if you're not running a CD body most times so having such a trashy CR increase is just plain dumb.

Single most annoying thing I have encountered is that you have to teleport around to heal your team when farming (if not using an abundance character). When you farm something (with say a Fu Xuan as sustain) then your team will drop hp after every round.
It's really dumb that after like 2-3 rounds I gotta quit out of the menu, teleport to the next space anchor to heal up, teleport back and start the same run again, which is just a tedious and totally unnecessary process.
I feel like after every paid run (paid with trailblazer energy) your team should heal to full hp.
the way I looked at that one Yanqing Trace that boost Effect Res was hoyo saying to build him with the effect res Orb and Rope set, and I'm inclined to agree. My Bronya and the rest of the team love their little support Yanqing, he may get bullied in that team too but he's supporting, just like how he supports the general

I feel like the celestial set was meant for Characters like yang jing or maybe jingliu, that buff their crit rate with their skill or similar. With celestial they gain CDmg to use with that Rate as well as crit rate for their first turn,where their buff isn't up yet.
But yes balancing wise it is a bit weak,as sets like the one with CRate and skill/basic damage provides similar damage buff that also applies on non crit hits.
Even for jingliu it suvk. Jingliu need to be on transcend state to deal ton of dmg and missing 20% elemental skill dmg bonus from rutilant is quite a bad idea. Guess it artifact purely for farming daily creep on map. Wher u one shot them in one turn. Using technique SW, this artifact on himeko proc on follow up then enemy low 50% herta followup.

That electric god is summoned whilst numby is a partner. Makes pretty good sense to me. I mean if we do compare both, numby will literally be by topaz side when dying and that god doesnt do that for jingyuan, also his ultimate literally shows that god is summoned.

I can explain the reason for topaz and jing yuan follow ups. Numby it’s numby, it is a living creature that does what’s best for its owner, the lightning lord is a summon that jing yuan does, you can’t summon if you are unconscious or asleep, it requires you to be awake or conscious.
Really, why did they give us a second crit% set when the one we had is actually ok and the crit DMG is complete garbage?? I really hope they make a better crit DMG set soon.
to jingyuan, i think why he's lightning lord won't attack if jingyuan is stun i think it's because he needs to summon it first before he attack. Meanwhile numby is a real living being even if topaz gets stunned he can still attack. (This is what i think)

Heres the tging i have to disagree about the differentiator set.My yanqing WAS trash (hes now less trash) but with differentoitor I had good crit on the first hit and yanqing's talent starts to make him less trash

I have celestial differentiator set on my Seele only because I have pieces with really good substat rolls. However, besides giving crit damage, it can be useful for her first ultie attack (if she has enough energy) to activate Herta's shop light cone effect

Funfact- that sett is for Yanqing. That's his best because his first hit is so low, it literally doesn't crit. This takes care of it, and then after activating his passive ability his crit rate is sky rocketing, not needing anything else. On him you should only build crit damage either way, and this sett is the perfect sett for his shortcomings too.
Destruction path can attack at most 3 enemies, at least with their skill or ultimate. Some passive does attack everyone, but most Destruction only attack at most 3 enemies. While erudition can attack every single enemy, means 5 enemies in their kit, either in ultimate or their skill, or their passive.
What never really made sense to me is how Y’know how we have 7 5*s on the standard banner? And, 7 types, as well as 7 paths. So, okay, each character should get one path and one type? NOOOO. Gepard and Yanqing both have an ice element, and quantum isn’t on the standard banner.
As for Yanqing's Effect res is there so he cant become affected by anything for ONE TIME, That's the purpose of that thing, you cant just expect the enemies to ignore everyone or dont do a aoe debuff like kafka or something

Perhaps Celestial Differentiator would work on Yanqing? After all, his soul-steel buff needs a turn to become active, and you don't need much (if any) crit rate on him because of his self buffs. Probably not worth it because of some other sets (I haven't really looked into it, so idk), but that would be one use for it

2. aggro isn't just based on taunt value, lower health = higher aggro. try giving tingyun an hp% orb and she'd get hit less
3. eh destruction is fine, jingliu is just overtuned, IL needs high investment.
4. chonky oinky deals less damage than jy and is an independent unit while LL is a manifestation, jy is stunned, he can't manifest LL
5. i gen think they just realized late that letting hp scalers basic atk scale with atk is dumb so they fixed it too late

Here is one you missed: Sushang’s Sword Stance proc is a fixed percentage. Even if she uses her technique or ult, that base percentage never increases, her ult just gives her an extra proc *attempt*. If her traces/eidolons/ult gave her a higher percentage for her Sword Stance to happen (even if they give it to her Technique), she would be able to make up for her inconsistent damage. I honestly think Qingque is more consistent than Sushang (Botha at E6) because of this.
TLDR: plz buff Sushang’s Sword Stance proc Hoyo

Lest we forget that Tingyun is the Aeon of Preservation in disguise.
Aggro value is real, but it’s done with math in a gacha game, if it’s not 100% it might as well be 50:50.
for real though, Tingyun feels the way she does because she has the lowest defensive stats in the game, every hit she took will feel worse than any other character. And class aggro value differences are very small, it’s basically useless if it’s unbuffed.
Path distiction is just there to divide which character gets which lightcones. Baliu gets damage reduction, Fuxuan gets healing, the only difference is the amount of healing and damage reduction they do.
Tbf with that “funny” kit you mentioned, a lot of them are older characters, newer characters don’t have the problem of having wrong scaling in their kit. And with Yanqing i prefer using him with Fuxuan or Huohuo for their offensive value, you don’t even need Soulsync to be 100% on, just use skill before his ult.

I use Celestial Differentiator on just Bronya, purely because of the Crit DMG boost. And while I don't have her E4 but in theory it would help with the Follow-up too.
Broken Keel would give your team more crit Damage that Bronya with the differentiator. Unless your broken keel has good crit damage rolls

The difference is minimal (Celestial has 16% while Keel gives 10%) and it boils down to substats at that point.
Team idea
Use Blade, Jingliu, Qingqiu and whatever other character you want in the last slot.
All can have enhanced normal attack/skill and cannot gain SP when enhanced.
The path system is fine imo (for the most part). I'm not gonna talk on supports since i honestly think all supportive units (offensive and defensive alike) have been perfectly fitting in their roles. It's just that some have a niche on top of their main supportive class. So that leaves dps. The only true outliers are DHIL, jingliu, and seele. Cause all 3 are competing with other dps classes in their roles while still being best in slot in their own respective archetype. All other limited dps are fitting in their role. Jy, argenti suck in single target for the most part. Kafka is dot queen but not a crit hypercarry. Blade is the only limited destruction that follow the rules of the path. And topaz while having the niche of supporting foa units, she's still a single target carry through and through. The path system itself isn't an issue it's some outlier units that are imo.

There’s also the fact that Welt makes no sense to me. Like seriously, why does (in most cases) his ult do less damage than his skill? His ult animation makes it nearly look like he is destroying a world, and yet all it really does is apply debuffs to buff his skill. Ofc it makes sense for his skill to be powerful, but why is his ult weaker than it?
