Thank you for the video! I had to improvise and use a paper clip for the hinge tool, piece of paper clip for a pin and soda can tab as a lock for my tweezers. 😊
Is there a way to fix the actual spring hinge itself if it has broken in half? I have an expensive pair where that hinge that slides into the box broke somehow. Cheap metal or something. Thank you.
"IF THERE IS SPACE" that will help, but I was not lucky ... mine was a smooth curve that was basically flush with the leg/temple and nothing would fit inside... used a piece of 1mm wire to press on the hinge with a small pair of vice-grips after pulling it out... thing was a major pain :-(
Not everyone has all these fancy tools to work with. I'd rather watch videos where the person is like Mcgyver who can fix everything with a tampon and a pocket knife!

Saved me so much headache. I used sim removal tool as pin to keep the hinge stuck out and it worked perfectly. Thanks

Push pin from the bottom up ,aligning the 2 barrels. Screw will drop rite in .
