    This is a very useful technique, smaller jars with condensed colors.

    What do u think of the flesh color paints

    • @leabellenurserie
      @leabellenurserie  Před rokem +1

      I have tried them one time at my beginning. I think they are tricky to use if you don't dilute them enough or use too much layers as they contain white, wich can cause the kit look chalky. I prefer the control that primary colors gives me.

  • @milesreborns7047
    @milesreborns7047 Před rokem +1

    How many layers is used in one color and what color should I begin with?

    • @leabellenurserie
      @leabellenurserie  Před rokem +1

      As many layers that you need/want to achieve the skin tone you want. It depends on the dilution and desired skin tone. Begin by the color of your choice. There's no rules.

    Did you use the primer before starting to paint?Does the primer have to dry before starting painting?

    • @leabellenurserie
      @leabellenurserie  Před 2 dny

      Yes, the primer is the first coat that will help the paint to stick well to the vinyl. It must be completely dry before painting.

    If one were to neutralize would it be the neutralizing color diluted with water and medium added? I neutralized and I didn't notice a difference because I couldn't find a tutorial on airdry neutralizing. Am I supposed to add medium to that wash?

    • @leabellenurserie
      @leabellenurserie  Před 5 měsíci

      Yes, it's the same as for the washes, maybe a bit more dilution (with medium). You may need several layers.

    • @leabellenurserie
      @leabellenurserie  Před rokem

      As many as you want. Usually we do veins at the beginning, so between 1-6 layers, but there's no rules.

    How do you get that pink colour?

    • @leabellenurserie
      @leabellenurserie  Před rokem

      It's not pink, it's red. Because it is mixed with a medium it appears pink but it will show red when applied.

      I have responded to your other comment. It's red mixed with medium and water. It will be red on the kit when dry.

    What products could I use to prime my doll kit before painting with air dry paints? I can’t seem to find the “paint adhesion medium”

    • @MyAmandajames
      @MyAmandajames Před 3 lety

      Or do I not prime it at all?

    • @leabellenurserie
      @leabellenurserie  Před 3 lety +1

      It's not an obligation to prime. You can use Golden mat medium to prime, also RebornFX has a wonderful primer (MacPherson craft)

    • @MyAmandajames

      @@leabellenurserie Thank you so much! I have found the Golden matte medium. So I will use that. Thanks again

    would it be easier to pre-mix my colors to desired color then add to doll?

    • @leabellenurserie
      @leabellenurserie  Před 3 lety +1

      It will not be easier, but faster. It will be more difficult to adjust the skin tone if, for exemple, it get too red. But it is certainly possible !

  • @pattycakeandplaydatesnursery

    How much glass and tile medium do you use with each paint color?

    • @leabellenurserie
      @leabellenurserie  Před 3 lety

      I do not use glass and tile medium but it should be similar qty ? About 3-4 time the paint quantity, you can adjust as your taste.

    • @pattycakeandplaydatesnursery
      @pattycakeandplaydatesnursery Před 3 lety

      What do you use to make the paint stick to the vinyl?

    • @leabellenurserie
      @leabellenurserie  Před 3 lety +1

      I don't understand your question. It's acrylic paint. It stick to the vinyl by itself. You may want to use a primer to get better adhesion but some artists don't use any with good results. Is it what you meant ?

      @@leabellenurserie Thank you for comforting me but I dont know in what ratios mix the air dry paints. I am really scared even touch again reborn doll. :( If I do it again in the same ratios it will be wrong once again.They say in prescription that ratios should be 1:1 water and medium and only small amount of paints (like a pea size ).I did everything like they said and it didnt work out. :(

    • @leabellenurserie
      @leabellenurserie  Před 3 lety +1

      I usually do a drop of paint (small amount) and 2-3 time the amount of medium. I add water until I get the right transparency (I test on a paper towel) and I always try on the back of the head first. The layer should be barely visible on the kit. I have never heard of a ratio medium/water. Practice on a cheap kit or test part until you feel it gets better.
