For last 23 years Taleigao Market has remained untouched by development

Though Taleigao boasts of broad roads, community hall, towering buildings and is virtually an extension of Panjim city, the market place remains dirty and congested, villagers say. Until recently there was no toilet for women. The gutter water flows below the market. The market is a small congested shed where local fisherwomen and vegetable vendors mostly from the SC/ST community sell their home grown produce.
