I was fortunate to her this live version in the 9th grade in South Jersey on power 98.9 or power 99 in philly, the quiet storm!! Yassssssss!!! Best version of this song!!
Thank you SO much for posting this!!! I had the cassette single featuring the live version in high school and once I heard this version I never listened to the regular version again. The band members did their THING… !!! One of the best live songs of all time. Hard to find tho, thanks again.
Rapheal might've played it in the studio but their cousin Elijah Baker the lefty bassist always handled the bottom live, that's who's playing in this live version
@@GaryTisdaleFungkSta1 I think they called it live because it was real bass and drums unlike the radio version. But it might not be from a live concert because it fades out at the end and you only hear the crowd a few times for effect. Either way, I wish there was more info on who played on it.
@@rrdream2400 🤔You're misinterpreting the reply He said " Raphael hittin that bassline " but that's not Raphael playing in what you're listening to That's Elijah Baker playing in this live version, we're listening to. Raphael is playing the bass on the original studio recording or radio version as you would call it So wasn't saying it wasn't live, just correcting who's playing in this live 🤷🏿♂
Thank you for posting this. I had this once upon a time. It was on the B side of a bootleg 12" of something else and I don't remember what it was now. Lol
I have always loved this song! Thanks for posting love it, do you by any chance have the jazz rendition by Don Diego?, it's great too, but it's not on uTube. I need to get Slow Wine on CD, because I wore the cassette out, and it's next to impossible to replace the stylus on a turntable to play the album. Boy, what we will go thru to hear good music, not the garbage they make today!
I sure would love to see Raphael back with the family . Do you think he sold out for solo sucess . He was on stage with Mick Jagger at the Grammys . He's a great musician , but can't he still be that with Tony Toni Tone ????
@Nevermind7771 Thank you for sharing that, but you just opened up a question for me to ask you. Would you happen to have any footage stashed anywhere of what you do or did? I did not see anything on your page clarifying you statement on there. I love listening to clean talent whether known or unknown.
Always preferred this version. The bass is crazy!!!!
Yeah EB played ▶️ the heck out of it.
This version is the bomb.

Good music never dies!!!
I was fortunate to hear this version once on the quiet storm when I was 17 in High School back in 1992😢

I've searched for this since the early 90's
OMG TOO! Just found it today..
Raphael hittin that bassline, in addition to the vocals, is felt.
Rapheal might've played it in the studio but their cousin Elijah Baker the lefty bassist always handled the bottom live, that's who's playing in this live version
