Sup flemlo. You should make a podcast I would watch every episode
I hope you see this but sometimes when you do the red line in the thumbnail I think it’s the completion bar and that I already watched the episode. I’d consider dropping it from the graphic cause other folks might also be skipping vids by accidnent
@@jackcorbett4704 flemlo needs a podcast for sure
A Flem... shout out to your Bengals bro.... last time yall was smoking at receiver like this.... which is why I wanted to ask... after a black history special on Doug Williams and Warren Moon... do one for your boys playoff appearance remind the world about the most under appreciated receiver core the football gods blessed us with... Chad Ochocinco/ TJ Houzmanzada/ and R.I.P. Chris Henry.
It took 6 1/2 minutes to start your story 🤮
A wise man once told me, “when you do good, they barely remember, but when you do bad they NEVER forget”. Hold your head D Hall you’re a legend in this game regardless
Yup, same thing with Nate Robinson unfortunately
@@545047 yeah he will NEVER live that down
The caveat is DeAngelo set himself up. Every man is bound to mess up. What you do leading up to that moment & in that moment is what they'll never forget. If he got mixed up without ever getting Nuk riled up, it wouldn't have been as bad.
@@llc8508 yeah he did push him a bit much prior to that point. But regardless he’s a legend in the game on all levels
@@06alwilliams Agreed. But, that's a big stain on his jacket.
This is one of the storys that i always enjoy having conversations about. Players like DeAngelo Hall always EXPOSE the casual fans of this generation who think viral MOMENTS define a players career. Hall one of of the best defensive backs of his time. Those who understood football know how good his was... But these new generation fantasy football fairweather madden statistic driven fans don't care about your body of work... Only about how viral a player is.
Helluva video Flemlo!
Crazy how some people don't even know bout his 4 int game
Chiseled Adonis speaking facts as usual
D Hall was that dude
That said, he was a monster on Madden 07' & 08'.
I thought he was one of the best CBs in the NFL in his time. I must've missed all the chirping from the talking heads.
@@Nalon.1242 you completely nailed it. DeAngelo Hall had his 5-7 years where he was lockdown and a pro bowler. He also got routed my a future All NFL player.
As a lifelong Washington fan who couldn’t be happier about your Bengals making it to the big game, thanks for this video.
D Hall is a treasure in Washington and is universally loved by fans and Virginians here
Used to love watching Steve Smith run them pockets 😂
That has to be a crazy feeling to grow up watchin Mike Vick than following his footsteps to the same university THAN drafted to the same NFL roster as him 🔥🔥🔥🔥

I didn't realize that people were summing up DeAngelo Hall's career with this one play, he was one of the nicest players of the 2000s, he was a beast in Madden games too not just as a corner but as a returner too, I guess it shows how quick people forgot and how younger generations don't know their history.
Same, like for me - i was a big football fan, (primarily college, but also NFL), back in the 2000's, but when my Raiders showed they could never rebuild from that post Gannon collapse and then my Michigan Wolverines being total dogshit after ditching coach Carr, i really kinda gave up watching football for a while. Thankfully Michigan has finally started to be consistently good again so i've started watching football again the last couple years - so i sorta missed everything that happened from like '09 till just a couple years ago. So I had never even heard of this vid until this video, but remember Hall being a fuckin killer back in the 2000's.
11:08 Roddy White. Reggie White was an Eagle, Packer, and Panther. The dude was next-level beast on the field, a Super Bowl champ, and a very good man off of the field. I also own two of his books. Honest mistake; similar names.
I always forget that Reggie White played for Panthers at the end of his career.
I thought he mean Reggie Wayne lol
I thought that was a CC error I didn't have the sound on. I thought surely he said Roddy..... Well damn.
Always good. I'm looking forward to the Donald Driver piece, I went to Packer football camps growing up. Donald played quarterback for our team, he threw me a touchdown and ran and picked me up. He had some of the most genuine good energy I've ever experienced. I always thought nationally people didn't get a chance to see how great he was at wide receiver.
I disagree people feared him.
He wasn’t as big as many during his time because he wasn’t out causing trouble and pr problems like several big name receivers of his time. I miss Donald, he is a class act and Im glad I grew up watching him
Lions fan. Had to deal with 80 twice a season.
Watchu mean? Him and Favre were always one of the most feared duos.
Ya driver was nice in his prime I remember those early 2000 packers teams
The Tyree catch was in the Giants 07 Super Bowl win, not the 2011 one. Perhaps you’re thinking of the Manning to Manningham throw and catch? To be fair that throw was perfect, no CB in the league was covering that.
Imo the Manning to Manningham throw and catch from that 2011 Superbowl doesn’t get enough hype it deserves!
There was also a miracle catch in 2011 that DHall could have prevented in an alternate timeline.

Dude flemlo I found you on here shortly before I quit drinking and I'm glad to say partly from looking forward to your videos I've not had a drink in a year and a half
This is the first place I came when I saw the bengals beat the chiefs. I'm stoked for you man! And bengals fans in general.
I know you happy the bengals are in the super bowl
Awesome video as always. Can’t wait for the Donald Driver episode. Dude had a really interesting life story and people really do sleep on him in terms of his ability. He was indeed a beast of an athlete.
Edit: Congrats on your Bengals this year. Happy to see Chase excel especially after all the doubt this pre season. Good luck this week.
DeAngelo Hall did NOT RUIN his legacy. Only fans who don’t know much about the game would let that clip w/Hopkins influence Hall’s EXCELLENT CAREER. His story about Randy Moss shows who he is as a man & an athlete; proud but humble. I will always respect Hall’s career. He gave as good as he got.
Hall was a beast at VT and I wished that the Skins had drafted him out of college. When they got him as a free agent from the Raiders I was stoked and he was a solid Redskin for years. Home grown dude playing in his home state as a pro. No matter how internet trolls remember him the dude earned his stripes and lived his dream. We should all be so lucky. Good vid Flemlo
Congrats on the Bengals making the SB Flem. You’ve been with them through thick and thin. Enjoy it bro
This is the dude I think of when the Bengals win.
The second Hall, (First Dante Hall), DeAngelo was lockdown before this injury, fastest corner and one of the highest rated in madden during his prime too. Thank you for this one!!!
Prime Nuk still beats prime Hall every day
I respect your opinion, and Deangelo was definitely solid, but nowhere near a shutdown. I'm a NFC south fan and Brees (and others) would consistently get the best of him.
Fastest? Not
@@jeremywashington4889 thats brees though bro lol alot of great corners lose that chess match against elite Qbs and great coaching look at Tom Brady and Cj Gardner Johnson

He really is and there are some great storytellers on CZcams. I respect the hell out of flem. He definitely taught me to not be judgmental when I read headlines of athletes/celebrities etc.
True. I always find myself binge watching his videos because he does such a great job of humanizing the athletes and really giving you a different perspective.
Young man, you do a fantastic job. Your depth of research, clear analysis and, most of all, the grace with which you handle those hard stories of utter failure are excellent. We all fail. Learning to come back, every damn time, is what it’s about.
You teach that well. Carry on.
Saw this two years ago for the first time…just watched it again…Flemlo….you are a GIFT…I have no words…thank you for giving Lawrence the eulogy he never believed he deserved, in a world that would never have otherwise given him one…
DHall got outperformed by Nnamdi Asomugha in Oakland. The bump and run man to man coverage every play in Oakland didn’t work well with Dhalls skills. When we went to more diverse defenses he played better
Hall is my dude! He went to my favorite college and is from where i am in Va, Chesapeake. Had to watch this vid. ✊🏿
WHO?
Ironically, the raiders tried to accommodate him by letting him play off man coverage. Just like the eagles tried to accommodate nmandi, letting him play press man coverage 😂
Had Flemlo done a Nnamdi video?
Talking about exposed! Nnamdi should be in jail for what he did to the Eagles 😂😂
Deangelo Hall was a hell of a corner. 1 practice play doesn't change that or ruin his legacy.
Congrats on your Bengals moving on in the playoffs. Really fun team to watch, Burrow and Chase have a chance to be a connection that can develop into an potential top combo on NFL history. Rooting for the Bengals rest of playoffs. As a Bears fan who wasn’t around when they won the SuperBowl in 1985 you guys are closer than the Bears right now.
Yeah they got lucky against The Ravens in the playoffs, the Bengals almost lost to a bunch of 2nd stringer’s because everyone was hurt!!
Can’t wait til you hit a million subscribers bro you deserve it. Appreciate all the time and effort you put into researching and putting these together. Great video as always

Good to have you back my brother. 🙏🏾
Congrats to the Bengals FlemLo!!
Bengals finally did it, bro. I'm not even a Bengals fan and I couldn't be happier.
Their season will go down as one of the greatest comeback stories in football.
I can't wait for the next video to drop.
Diangelo was really good at his peak.. I wouldn't say great.. he took mad risks and when they didn't work out in his favor he was quite af.. but in the era of Terrell Owens, Steve Smith, and Chad Johnson.. he did iight
I feel he was a lesser version of trevon Diggs, both are polarizing players with huge swings in their game from getting interceptions to not holding their own on other plays, but trevon Diggs does get a lot more spot light either from his last name, the team he plays for it the fact he just plays in a different time from deangelo, but all aside playstyle is very similar in my opinion
I wrote this before I got to the part of flemlo comparing trevon Diggs to deangelo hall so I wasn't intending to copy what he said 😂😂
Crazy era. They dont even know
@@ffllaasshh2067 Lessor? Are u familiar with the era? I dont compare players of today to player 10+ yrs ago. No way. Different game
@@SirAntBo I meant lesser as in exposure I don't believe deangelo hall was getting as much publicity as trevon Diggs is right now
I always will remember Hall from his prime battling with Steve Smith every year down in Atlanta. Smith was a tough dude to cover, and tough dude to deal with period on the field. When i think of D hall, a moment of practice doesn't even register with me
Thank you for all the work you’re putting in on these videos, they are really a pleasure to listen to. 👍🏽
Bringing light to even more important football stories. Thank you so much for what you do Flemlo!
Agreed. I dig this type of content, especially since I’m more of a casual fan. Great work, FlemLo!
At VT. I heard he would run at full speed for 20 minutes on the treadmill. He was definitely a beast at corner in the beginning of his career and his transition to safety was actually pretty smooth. However D hop completely destroyed his ankles on that play in practice
My man slipped
Nobody can run at full speed for 20 minutes straight. He may have ran at pace that’s faster than most people’s full speed tho
@@martianmurray Lol, just cause you can't doesn't mean top athletes can't. Plus top speed isn't referred to all out sprint but his maximum sustainable speed like track runners.
Or how I trained and I did dead sprints in intervals of 30/60
Did you Just say that man bench press 300 pds as a 17 year old as a scronny kid? Got to rewind.
@@msannson212 I got 315 up my senior year at 17. It's not too crazy for football players.
By 21, I could rep 315. (Tho I started to transition to speed and quickness and not so much power for a corner)
I want this dude to have a podcast. One of the best content creators on CZcams
Hope you and yours are feeling better man! Glad to see you are still on the grind with great content.
I met D Hall at Dulles Airport to a flight to LA. He was on the way to start recording for NFL Network. He’s a humble guy. Told him I enjoyed watching his intensity on the field. He thanked me.
He didn't ruin his legacy. One play from a PRACTICE when DHall was coming to the end of his career does not ruin his legacy. He was a good defensive back for many. many years, 3x pro bowler and has a jersey in the hall of fame. Really good player in his day. Anyone defining his legacy from one play in a practice is being silly.
Agreed. It was just some goofy entertainment stuff, it can’t take away from his 14 year (NFL) career.
I think this the point. Anyone who watched him and is objective knows he was a great cb. But the internet doesn't care about facts or being objective, only memes and kicking people while they're down
No it just showed he fell off something fierce. Granted he played on a horrible defense so he got exposed more than he probably should’ve been. As a Dallas fan I watched Dez torch this man so many times over.
@@premiersmith9317 as a Redskins fan, Dez didn’t really “torch” him. Most of their match ups were really good and Hall shut him down several times. I’m fairly certain this video with Hopkins is from around the time Dhall had switch to free safety for us. His ACL injury sapped some of his speed. As a Hokie fan and Redskins fan I’m glad I got to see so much of his career.
A backpacker is traveling through Ireland when it starts to rain. He decides to wait out the storm in a nearby pub. The only other person at the bar is an older man staring at his drink. After a few moments of silence the man turns to the backpacker and says in a thick Irish accent:
"You see this bar? I built this bar with my own bare hands. I cut down every tree and made the lumber myself. I toiled away through the wind and cold, but do they call me McGreggor the bar builder? No."
He continued "Do you see that stone wall out there? I built that wall with my own bare hands. I found every stone and placed them just right through the rain and the mud, but do they call me McGreggor the wall builder? No."
"Do ya see that pier out there on the lake? I built that pier with my own bare hands, driving each piling deep into ground so that it would last a lifetime. Do they call me McGreggor the pier builder? No."
"But ya fuck one goat.."
Logged on to find your most recent video to just say ... congrats to you Bengals man. So happy for you, you're a diehard fan
I honestly kinda forgot about that play until this video. That’s definitely not his legacy he was a very good player in his prime. I mostly remember him being so fast at Virginia Tech & him being a top 10 pick by the Falcons.

I like how flem lo is 100% real. His opinions are logical. He reports facts. He doesn't get into the typical political opinions of the day. I've never heard him shade his videos w racial shit. I respect that. It's not common.
Glad to see Deeda (What we call him) get some shine. He's from the Camelot section of Deep Creek in Cheaspeake which was full of talent. Although slightly younger then me we grew up together and even dated sisters lol. We attended the same church (Trinity Faith Diamond) and played ball for the church basketball league. He's always been a good guy and very humble but also very confident, which most people may have taken for cockiness but not me. Very talented on the basketball court and the track as well. Also has never been afraid of no one. Glad bruh was able to go on and have a good career in the nfl and wish people would get to know him before judging because he's really a good guy who cares a ton about people and his family.
You from the LOT?
@@marcuswooden7859 nah from Portsmouth just went to that church that's all. Mad lòt guys went there because they have a basketball gym in the church so cats came there to play ball.
OK Respect!
I went to Virginia Tech and had the good fortune of seeing DHall in a bar one time after he was already in the NFL along with some current Hokie football players. He was extremely humble and willing to talk and take some pictures with anyone who wanted. I dont think he was even drinking just playing older brother to the current players and making sure no one got in any trouble. I always liked him as a player but gained a lot of respect for him as a person that night.

Totally gonna sound biased here but I really think that clip with DHop only happened because Hall was already older and past his prime and was dealing with injuries. When he went to cut back he planted his foot and it just have out on him. Either way he was always a really good player, super underrated. Love your videos brother. But that Tyree play you were referring to was back in 2008, not 2012. Still Hall would have been beneficial on the 2011 Pats who made it to the SB.
The older football heads saw this play and just thought, “Hall is older now. Of course this could happen against an up and coming beast WR.” And we deleted it from our memory. But it sucks that for the younger generation, this stands out
DHall def deserves a better defining moment. Dude was rock solid. Never great, but a shade above good. At times spectacular, at times getting cooked, but always bringing it.

Flemlo D-Hall's most memorable moment for me was when Steve Smith torched him up in Atlanta. I think that was his 1st fall from the top. He then got traded to Oakland, got cut, then Wash signed him. He was way overpaid in Wash until Cutler didn't do his homework and gave Hall 4 picks in 1 game. Hall was overly aggressive and fell for every pump fake and play action.
Thats why I can't take this dude seriously. Panthers all day!
Smith never really had a big game against hall . He may had best hall on a few plays but never put up big numbers against hall
"I fear God boy" was my first thought before I even say the video!!!

This was late 90's 2000. Still a incredible almost made it story.

I’ve seen that hard knocks sequence several times, but I thoroughly enjoyed your breakdown of it. You are a superb story teller. That’s a rare talent. Keep it up, man.
Just a small aside, as Vick and Iverson went to school on the opposite side of the harbor from Hall, and because all three major crossings are garbage, the separation is probably more like 45 minutes to an hour in terms of real world drive time. Especially back then, before some infrastructure upgrades were finished that eased some of the congestion on both sides of Hampton Roads. (Although the harbor crossings themselves remain a problem)
Iverson & Vick from Peninsula Tidewater, Hall from Lower Tidewater. All 3 from opposite side of the bay which is like 30-40 minutes apart. I've witnessed better talent from Virginia Beach despite Hall being from Chesapeake...
