The incident occurred on 27 july following heavy rain that overwhelmed the area's drainage. Authorities are investigating how the water managed to flood the basement. Initial theories suggest that the heavy rainfall caused water pressure to build up, potentially breaking a steel shed at the entrance, or that the water entered when a gate was opened to let a car out. Delhi the capital of India, being a student of delhi University I can say before coming to delhi i always assumed Delhi like venice, Italy, NY something like that but when i came what i saw was horrific. We can't even count it in an Average city.
And you know what it's not only about rajendra nagar but the problem of drainage system is continuing in most of the areas of Delhi from a long time but nobody was bothered by it....

Irony is that many IAS officers came out of the very same area, but after becoming IAS did nothing to correct it.
The single problem in all these incidents is the lack of proper evacuation plans in all multistory resident and commercial complexes where staircases should be outside each of these buildings. Another problem is that the government allows running commercial activities in such complexes where it should not be allowed. Students continue to die due to these very basic problems which should have been addressed by now.
The irony is, that a lot of aspirants in the past, studying in similar infrastructure, faced similar problems daily and later became a part of the administration. what did they contribute to resolve such common issues ????? NOTHING

Manual system is more covenient and safe than bui metric system which appears to be the reason for remaining door locked as there was no extra exist system as per news busted.
Now who is responsible for such socking incident . Family that lost their dear ones lost something precious than amything else which cannot be repay back . Government must ensure proper investigation and enquiry to bring the culprit into justice and harsh decision be imposed so that proper arrangement and facility are taken care of for future incident.
