You all seem to be enjoying so much everything of the place which I miss so dearly and desperately want to go back later this year. I'm getting a bit emotional watching your glowingly smily faces. I was literally gazing at the screen, watching you sitting in those lovely coffee shops, sipping coffee while enjoying the peaceful street scenes through the windows. I understand it's a lot quieter than the Shanghai i used to visit so often but I am so glad the vibe there has come back. Love watching your videos and I am going to share them with others who love the city too.

@@melissa_renee welcome to Ireland! I left Shanghai more than 20 years ago. I grow up in Shanghai than moved to Sweden until I met my partner. Now living in country side with 3donkeys. 🤣Shanghai looks so different than I remembered.

I love watching your videos, it’s so soothing and nice for the eyes. My favorite is your house tour, I found you channel because I’m in minimalism. And I could not imagine Shanghai to be such a cool place. Can’t wait to see other cities you will be visiting. Just doing cafe is intriguing.

Actually I think you are lucky there aren't too many people. Dispite the nonopened shops, you get to enjoy the view quitely and thoroughly. We local people can only dream about this to happen.

I think the reason why it was so few people in the vlog was that many people caught Covid in the past week (me included). I am now recovered and out in the street this week and there are more and more people now, on one hand i am very happy life is getting back to normal, on the other hand I miss the tranquility haha. but i am more happy that our life are finally getting back to normal!

If you are interested in ancient towns in Shanghai. I recommend Jinze Ancient Town and Liantang Ancient Town. They are less commercialized than Zhujiajiao and very quiet and peaceful especially Jinze. But they're more remote, far from the city.

I think most Chinese stores close during the Chinese New Year - people shut down shops to enjoy the New Year with family or go to the ancestral homes in the countryside.

Hello! Im traveling to China probably soon (from oz), how do i link my account to wechat for making payments in China? a while ago I heard that foreign bank accounts cannot be linked to wechat?? if it is doable now, the foreign curreny (AUD) gets converted to RMB by wechat when the payment is made in China? is it a good exchange/conversion rate? thank you!
ps: is cash accepted? i know banks cards / travel money cards issued in oz probably not accepted in China :(
Unfortunately, I don’t have an answer for you. I’m very sorry this might be something that you can look up online maybe? I do know that cash is accepted but it’s not common anymore.
