I can still see bunch of western shit products like Cola, Lays etc. If you read the packages and brand owners it's the same one as the original for many of "new" products, they're just rebranding it for Russia and sending it here thru Kazakhstan etc..
Strange how Haix never sent you Добрый Кола as it's the closest replacement for original Cola today in Russia. It's basically being made on same factory which was producting Cola in Russia. Also about sweets and stuff: it's not exactly that we eat here. And definetely not the best that you can get in Russia. If you interested, try (Some turkish food not originated in Russia but quite popular here) и сырки вроде Б.Ю. (Big problem is that they definetely will not survive travelling over the sea but with good amount of luck you may find it in some russian/ukranian/polish grocery store in USA)
"Тульский пряник" (Tula gingerbread) has been around since long before some Western companies left Russia. Gingerbread in Russia is popular in its own right and has its own history of production, it is quite varied, to say the least.
"baikal" and "tarhun" have been produced since the times of the ussr. "baikal" has has the taste of a mix of a huge number of different herbs, which, as the name suggests, grow in the region of lake baikal. tarhun is a herb that has exactly the same taste as this soda. as a child, I also considered the taste of tarhun is chemical, but after I tried this herb in its pure form, I was surprised that something grown in the garden could taste like shower gel. haix made a big mistake not to send you "dobriy kola" (добрый кола), it is produced at the "former" Coca-Cola plant in Russia, which is now under the control of a subsidiary of the renamed Coca-Cola's company
Тархун is is the literal translation tarragon, chernogolovka drinks actually use a natural extract of tarragon, but most other brands don't. And Baikal has a herbal taste, as if Jagermeister were soda.
Oh yeah, i live in a post soviet country and i remember drinking tarhun when i was a kid, well i didnt live in soviet times but still it was pretty popular.

Actually, there is no lack of Western snacks or drinks at all. Only Coca-Cola and PepsiCo drinks became harder to find, mostly you get them from Borat now (Kazakhstan). Also, most of these "Coolcola" type of products are trash. The real replacement for Coca-Cola is Добрый-кола named after one of the biggest COK (juice) brands Добрый ([Dobriy], Kind) and it's being produced at the same factories. The logo is different but it tastes basically the same.
Yes, true. The McDonalds replacement is the same thing too (but we don't have the Big Mac yet; it is to be released in January, called "Big Hit"). Also, we still have Oreo cookies, ate them just yesterday.
not only the factories is the same, the recipe is same too. i'm 100% sure that any european wouldn't guess where is "dobriy cola" and where is the original coca cola
A lot of these "replacement products" are still made in the same factories by companies who are subsidiaries of the companies that have "left Russia". So, really they haven't left and just rebranded their products.
Companies left but … how to say that … employes will continue working there … so … if the original company does not have money from it… russians are making fake food 😂😂
@It’s just a joke chill do you really think that original companies will lose profit in this capitalism world. None of them really left and they gather money by some dark schemes
Fun fact, Chernogolovka was making cola long before whole predicament started, but others are just same drinks as we had before, made on same factories, by same men, just under new big company that basically took over those factories after the companies left country.
I'm Russian and we do have oreos Also the real replacement for coca cola etc is Dobriy ( Добрый) cola since it producing in exactly the same place as the coca cola before sanctions
The date for the “Oreo” cookies is actually when they was made. Russians print the exp. date in the ingredients. I think the expiration date for them is 6 or 12 months
I’am from Russia and before I used to be sceptical about Chernogolovka cola, but once we made blind cola test with friends and Chernogolovka smushed original cola really easily
It took the package a long time because they first airdropped it into the warzone from a plane. Then a heroic Romanian taxi driver who got lost without GPS found your package and delivered it all the way to Malta
Tarhun is made out of the grass that the drink is named after, it tastes and smells just like the drink but it also has some spicy aftertaste unlike the drink itself, that drink is super nice so it's really sad that you didn't like it
The problem is, when we had actual cola, sprite e.t.c. it was tasting the same as the replacement, since was made in Russia. So we haven't lost anything in particular.
Genuinely, thank you for being positive about the situation. We over in Russia sure as hell want to roll back to a simpler time. Lack of western brands is probably like 5th on the list of reasons why
By the way original oreo(and milka) is still here as well as many other products, I was surprised that my diet and overall daily routine didn't change at all, I thought my country depends a lot on western productions, I guess not. The products you tasted that came to market after sanctions are very cheap versions of original, except Chernogolovka, Pryanik and Alenka chokolate, this ones is in average price category and they taste very good(not after a month of mail shipping).
You have to consider though that coca cola and other drinks taste different in each country for some reason, and maybe they didn't taste much different from the replacement products. And trust me Haix is safe for a while.
I'm finnish and i started drinking baikal as a joke when i saw it in the shop, after tasting it i was hooked. Ever since the invasion i haven't been able to get my hands on any. If anyone here can try it, take the chance. Its worth it!
I advise you to try a native Russian product - kvass, but with the taste of currants or wild berries. It is called "Вятский Квас". They have green and purple bottles, it looks like soda, but something completely different. I think you'll be surprised.
If you'll have next opportunity to buy some replacement, try the Dobry cola. Even despite the fact that it's producing on genuine cola factories, this is the closest one to be original. Also you can find Jumbo Cola. It's actually making in Kazakhstan, so we just import it, but this one is, imho, absolutely same as original, or even better
Also if you need something very special you can order it in companies located in Kaliningrad - they bring goods from Poland (polish customs are still in good relationship with 1990s commercials)
Disclaimer: These are mostly the worst replacements, being chosen on purpose. Real Coca-Cola is now produced under the brand "Добрый Cola" and mcduck didn't change at all as well - it is sold to a Russian businessman and just works under a different brand. All the other brands are either still in Russia or just got sold and rebranded the same way.
We actually have regular cocacola which is called "Добрый Кола" (old russian brand), which uses same ingredients, same tools on same factories, it tastes the same, and Im pretty sure cocacola just replaced the logo and stayed in Russia, cause recently they sued Черноголовка (which makes really good sodas although their extremally cringe name) for naming one of their products "Fantola" (which is really good soda).
Super Kontik (Супер Контик) is actually Ukrainian btw, I don't know why Haix sent it. Oreo came to Russia not so long ago, before oreo we had Kremiks from Kazakhstan. There's also soviet brands like "Jubilee" biscuits.
in fact, from what you considered, only drinks left, snacks remained. and then, the original soda is also sold, only it has become more expensive and it is brought from neighboring countries
The taste of cool-cola is 100% the same as original, at least as it was in Russia. None of my friends could tell the difference when drink it from the glass without seeing brand.
Everything new is well forgotten old (Russian proverb). In the 90s there was such a chocolate bar "Shock/Шок", very similar to "Mars". And now on the shelves there is a "Super" bar similar to "Mars". And I'm like, "Oh, the old days are back." :)
Many say about Добрый кола but i wanted to add that it is not only made at the same factories but it is still basically made by coca-cola because it ownes the company that produces Добрый кола, so its not even a replacement, im not even sure if they changed the recipe.
Surprisingly enough, thanks to restriction now there is a shitload of different brands and variety of new products (and renamed originals, of course), and a lot of them are actually great, and a list and quality is just getting longer. What do you know...
8:02 u may think this is a replacement of a coke, but its not a coke, its a russian parody of coke named taiga, it's literally soda water + tea + coffee, about oreo. 6:10 I didnt ever saw a replacement of an oreo in my country but these replacements of an oreo looks like BIG FART. 8:18 These russian rectangular snacks are named Tula gingerbread, i dont think its a replacement of something bc these gingerbreads was before the war. 11:38 That marmalade in a nutshell is turkish national candy, btw really cool candy. Everything you ate in this video is relatively cheap in Russia, for example, replacing of cola or our taiga costs +- 35 rubles for a bottle. its 0,50 usd. I liked your reactions to the fact that we eat/drink almost every day.
12:55 this existed back in USSR. As far as I understand, Черноголовка now* owns both technology and IP on those soviet soft drinks as well as Дюшес, Крюшон and Ситро. It is uncanny but they taste exactly the way I remember them from my soviet childhood.
Its really a shame that almost everything that you have tried was fucked up by shipping, and also haix was really bad at choosing what to send you, good content anyway
A lot of my countrymen are praising Добрый Cola. For being good. I'm 100% agree, but in my opinion, Evervess soda is the best. They started out as Schweppes replacement, but then added more flavoures and types. One of them is basically a Pepsi, and it's really good!
There is actually a way better replacement "Добрый Cola", which is made on the same factories and produced by Coca Cola daughter company "Multon Cola". It's the same cola but different name. Also, most of drinks, which were made by coca co and already had russian names stayed exactly the same
"Alyonka" (chocolate) is not a replacement brand It's russian original We also have "babayevsky" which is probably the most popular brand of bitter chocolate in Russia. "Russkiy dar" is a kvass, but its kinda bad. ''Lidskiy kvas'' is much better for me
I live in Russia and we actually have kinda McDonald's it's called "Vkusno I tochka"(Tasty and dot) and it's very good I'd say it's like just non branded McDonald's
Regarding cola. I myself tried them all, and "Dobryi Cola" only came out the same as the original. The original in terms of the fact that it is the same as the usual cola with us.
I don't think that was marmelade. That was a knock-off of what people call "Rahat-lokum" (or "Turkish delight", as english wiki tells me). They are usually taste like nothing, or have a subtle taste to them, with some nut shavings on top. At least these knock-off things that are sold in Russian stores don't have a strong taste.
0:43 i can confirm, Coca Cola, Pepsi and McDonalds is not existing now on Russian region, BUT, actually in fact McDonalds still exist, it just got renamed and lost some of food, but other stuff is exact same as before, i recently (until December 31) ate one of the burgers, fries and even nuggets, they taste exactly the same as when I ate them at McDonald's, and I probably haven't eaten there since 2019 Русский Дар means Russian Gift
yes here in russia i think almost all substitute products are crap but we have a lot of local companies doing good things like flash energy drink and jaguar... yes i dont know anything about different foods because I just eat energy from energy drinks every day
Nah, flash energy is mostly shit, except for orange taste - so juicy and sour. Tornado energy way more better for the same price. Cactus and Ice tastes are still mindblowing me
Man, people don't buy that in Russia, they buy the usual brands, the same Coke as you have, the same Fanta as you have, the same Sprite as you have, the same Oreo as you have, and such products are rarely taken.

They're both old but Baikal was, in fact, developed in the USSR as an alternative to Cola.

Ah yes, "Крым Кола" XDXD
@восьмёрка 💀
Sitting in Moscow, sipping some Pepsi and watching video
Anomaly: there is no Pepsi in Russia…
Weird flex but ok
Haix has been preparing for this moment his whole life with his rigorous diet to stay in stickman physique so the military picks him last.
Disclaimer:
These are mostly the worst replacements, being chosen on purpose.
@Andrey Rotor не знал
in fact, from what you considered, only drinks left, snacks remained. and then, the original soda is also sold, only it has become more expensive and it is brought from neighboring countries
bro this man is the best and the funniest guy on earth! i love him keep up the good work!!!
Anomaly you and papa make my day after work 👍
The taste of cool-cola is 100% the same as original, at least as it was in Russia. None of my friends could tell the difference when drink it from the glass without seeing brand.
as a person from Russia, I can say that they did not send you the freshest products, they look much better here than what they sent you.
Everything new is well forgotten old (Russian proverb). In the 90s there was such a chocolate bar "Shock/Шок", very similar to "Mars". And now on the shelves there is a "Super" bar similar to "Mars". And I'm like, "Oh, the old days are back." :)
"before you die and step on a landmine" Haix has never felt more relaxed in his life until now
Actually I'm pretty sure thecdonalds food would have been more well preserved than anything else packaged
as a russian viewer, i can say, this video is so fun guys, i really like it)
You feel bad for a friend who might get deployed that the candy in his country tastes shit. True friendship there 🥰
Many say about Добрый кола but i wanted to add that it is not only made at the same factories but it is still basically made by coca-cola because it ownes the company that produces Добрый кола, so its not even a replacement, im not even sure if they changed the recipe.
Surprisingly enough, thanks to restriction now there is a shitload of different brands and variety of new products (and renamed originals, of course), and a lot of them are actually great, and a list and quality is just getting longer. What do you know...
Damn, it's funny but makes me wanna cry at the same time. For ppl it's memes, for us it's the world we live in lol
as russian, i could say that nothing could replace original ones, but replicas isn't that bad
Now for all the folks...watch the Russian MRE video and recall famous words of Anomaly
"How do i enlist into russian army"
Chernogolovka isn't replacement btw. It's old russian brand.
Thank you for your video, Mr Anomaly!
We're gonna make sure to place you on our favourite CZcamsr's list.
Yours sincerely,
EU Sanctions Officer
>Dmytro
@BuffoXD Dmytro isn't russian name. Russian variant is "Dmitrii/Dmitry/Dmitriy". It's ukranian or, as stated in comment above, polish.
@Layton Vicars never heard the name dmytro here in poland, so probably not
@Layton Vicars maybe other west slavs, but definitely not eastern slavs
I liked your reactions to the fact that we eat/drink almost every day.
i always avoid these replacements while shopping but now i spend 14 minutes to get review of it from Anomaly in Malta. Strange world we live in
For me, the best way to describe Baikal is if you mix some coke with Jin, but you remove the alcohol.
thanks for reviewing my country replacement products. I'm agree with ur taste, but fancy and green soda are not that bad at all.
If you really wanna drink normal Cola in Russia, you just gotta pay twice the price of "Черноголовка Кола", we have Coca-Cola imported from Turkey.
Also, most of drinks, which were made by coca co and already had russian names stayed exactly the same
Also McDonalds is exactly the same with different name "Вкусно и точка" (Tasty, thats it) The only difference I noticed is abscence of Big Mac
A whole 14min video with multiple drinks in it and not a drop spilled? This can't be the real Anomaly!!!
"Alyonka" (chocolate) is not a replacement brand
It's russian original
We also have "babayevsky" which is probably the most popular brand of bitter chocolate in Russia.
You need to try Dobry Cola - since Dobry bought the Russian part of Coca-Cola and is a direct replacement for Coca-Cola in Russia.
Regarding cola. I myself tried them all, and "Dobryi Cola" only came out the same as the original. The original in terms of the fact that it is the same as the usual cola with us.
@Heify смешно смеемся
There are so much cola variants. You have no idea.
Every Russian and Belorussian water producer has one.
0:43 i can confirm, Coca Cola, Pepsi and McDonalds is not existing now on Russian region, BUT, actually in fact McDonalds still exist, it just got renamed and lost some of food, but other stuff is exact same as before, i recently (until December 31) ate one of the burgers, fries and even nuggets, they taste exactly the same as when I ate them at McDonald's, and I probably haven't eaten there since 2019
Русский Дар means Russian Gift
Papanomaly: drinks cola
Also papanomaly: tastes as comunism… drinks again
Here in Russia there is already Coca Cola, from the Coca Cola plant in Russia, it is called Dobry Cola
But isnt all powder supposed to come from Poland like before? Where did you get it now?
@Julius i havent seen cola from Poland yet, there`s only dr.pepper and canada dry from Poland is still in the shops
yes here in russia i think almost all substitute products are crap but we have a lot of local companies doing good things like flash energy drink and jaguar... yes i dont know anything about different foods because I just eat energy from energy drinks every day
Nah, flash energy is mostly shit, except for orange taste - so juicy and sour.
Haven't had a good laugh like this a good bit lol thanks
You can immediately see the handwriting of our mail. Only the Russian Post could deliver everything like this.
Pray for haix, honestly hope everything goes well with him
he's russian, so probably end up bombed by Ukrainian rocket that west sends them, lul.
@Julius fr rip
@Lekser Surrendering wouldn't go too well for him since the Ukranian troops are apparently immune from war crime indictment.
Man he can barely hold a rifle in his hand not to even mention aiming it, they will reach new dimensions of desperation if they deploy HaiX :D
Tarhun actually is this type of products that you hate in your first try, but then you taste it again and fucking fall in love with
Coca Cola "left" but the company just renamed the sodas into Добрый brand. It's only recently started to appear in stores.
I like how Anomaly made a video about cleaning up his apartment. But now he is still living like a hoarder til this day
I kinda love baikal its made of eleutherococcus extract and black tea, so its "healthy" soda.
Hello from russia with love
And a ton of sugar, so "healthy" my ass. But it's good.
@danny365 Davvis better sugar than artificial sweetener rat poison
@danny365 Davvis well, its like 2 times less sugar, than typical cola, but i agree, no soda is healthy
