You need to connect it to your Wi-Fi as a previous contributor said it allows you to update the phone where when available and connect to a time server. Personally I would’ve bought the max version though because you might want to check whether your license is fully registered as well, the fact that you didn’t get a book with yours means it is definitely a clone
Well I think the WiFi capability helps a backdoor for cyberwarfare, eastern's brainwashing tactics whenever they're in need to in case of world war engagement, so chinese's government can confuse and interfere with western public information and fake or anti-truth news whenever they need to.
Know they're no independent companies in the chinese tech industry outside the government's agencies radar of cooptation, so if they're told to put a specific chip or whatever, it might be vacuous at the beginning, but it will fulfill its purpose in the future.
If western's radio army people reversengineer the firmware won't share their discoveries hoping they can use it in our favor some day
Chinese are not Russians or Nazis, they come cold and friendly, they're masters in that game, any attempt of thinking this's stupid, conspiranoic or silly is just a proof of how far under reality we're trapped in our innocent western world
Turn wireless off in setup to start fast without wifi. I think its 5ghz but have not found out how to use it yet.
Their is WiFi built in even to the ATS25. Go into setup and switch it off.
What does the WiFi do or allows to do after the firmware update? How can obtain the update?
I'm interested in one of these ATS25 SDR-like receivers, but it's confusing as there are a few other versions in the market: ATS25-X1, ATS25+ and ATS25-Max. If the current crop of the X2 version is buggy, I'll take a pass. Are radios like this one worth purchasing or should anyone considering the ATS-25 might as well save up towards something like the Malahit SDR? Thanks in advance! 📻🤔
I sent this one back, boot time was awful, and no reception on shortwave on telescopic antenna at all, so being portable was a bit pointless.
@@danwalkley304 Thanks Dan, you just saved me a lot of grief! There's a 6.6 sale on a popular e-commerce platform for SE Asia and several vendors are offering the X2 version with discounts.
It makes me wonder if these manufacturers are pushing out new but buggy ATS-25 radios and making their customers become their beta or even alpha testers.
You've got a new subscriber here! 📻👍

This radio is big shit.
What a dull review or was it just a moaning like hell because a £60 radio doesnt work like a £1000 radio?
No, it was a complaint that a radio didn't work as a radio, regardless of price,
i dont know what the wifi does either but it takes ages to boot if its trying to connect wifi.. turn wfi off in settings instant boot. bright light seems to be something to do with the "dimmed led" segments on freq display
