I purchased a 12m Spider Pole from yourselves just a couple of weeks ago, absolutely over the moon with it..thanks for another educational video Peter.
I have 3 12m poles (purchased here in the US; sorry Peter!) and all of them support my end fed and dipole antennas. They are on my deck, 10' off the ground, and then go up about 30-35' from that, with the other ends in trees. What I like is I can drop them easily for maintenance, incoming storms, or other reasons. Very nice.
Peter, I bought one of these at 2023 Dayton. I used it right after the purchase to hold the center of a lightweight 40 meter inverted I used for Field Day. This was an excellent purchase and highly recommended. Thanks for the video.
Thanks, Peter. I have a 12 meter Spider Pole as well and use it to support a vertical wire. I've installed a remote tuner at the base and it works quite well. de W5ODP 🙂

I purchased the same pole and its very good, i also purchased the spiderbeam mast clamp set cs-12m. You should really be using stainless steel for the clips and sleeved with rubber or pvc pipe as i have done previously with other poles. I have mine mounted on a length of 4x2 screwed to my garage wall and i use rubber lined Munsen rings as they give good support and protection. Great videos Peter 73s
It’s a great mast. I have it strapped to the wooden deck. Dexion angle iron would seem to work fine in an open space, but I doubt I can get it here in Canada. I worked at Dexion HQ in London in 1963 after I left school before coming to Canada. VO1OK.
I ordered one here in Canada a few years before the pandemic and don't recall any problems or outrageous shipping. IIRC, I ordered it from the US distributor. It might not be the best for heavy dipoles, but works great to give height to lighter wires.
I didn't realize until closer inspection that you were talking about availability of the support, but glad you're happy with your beam.
I have the 12m and the 7m poles by Spiderbeam and love them. The price is very reasonable.
I love my 10m fibreglass pole. It's a heavy duty version. It uses hose clips like yours except I have put some rubber pads on the inside held in place with heat shrink. This appears to give a bit more protection to the fibreglass pole sections when the clips are tightened. It's great for supporting the far end of my EFHW. Mind you I had to remove the top section through to reduce the lateral bend you referred to. The angle iron method of supporting it is a big thumbs up - works for me too. Now I'm thinking maybe the aluminium spidermast was the way to go🤔
I own three fibreglass poles. MFJ Jack Kite pole, Spider Beam pole and one from Max Gain systems. They all bend. The Max Gain comes with a guying system and is my choice for heavy duty use.
I got a 7m Spiderbeam mast (not from you) a few weeks ago, I’m sorry I didn’t get the 10 or 12m pole as the 7m is way too light and flexible so you’re pretty much stuck with not using at least 1.5m at the top to add some strength to it.
I wanted to ask a question. I am in the states and I am trying to get a dipole set up in the backyard. One of my local hams who has been super helpful to me told me that I could not use the SpiderBeam aluminum masts because they are conductive. I see you are doing the same thing I was thinking about doing so I am not sure what I am missing. The man has been so super nice to me and I don't want to question him like I don't believe him but I am trying to understand what I may be missing. Any help would be great.
How far down into the ground do you have that angle iron?
Are they able to support a relais switchbox containing a toroid rf choke too for a half square?
How do you unlock them when they won’t unlock

You attach a length of cord or antenna wire to the tip and keep it under slight tension to prevent the pole from collapsing.
