To everybody commenting about removing the air box, I removed the air box to be measured for an aftermarket drop in filter and also for dimensions for a possible custom enclosed CAI. Didn’t have the air box with me and was only running the K&N for that reason. I am well aware that it probably hurt my times some since my trap speed was lower than what I have seen but nothing (even the stock air box) would have made a difference against the Tesla. That thing is a beast and the instant electric torque is a killer. I’ll be attempting some more runs when I get the box back and in better conditions and hoping to at least run 11.6 as published by Jeep. Thanks dragtimes for a fun day!!

I wonder what the race will be like with the revamp on the Model X with a bigger battery. If the Tesla Model X used Model 3 style batteries it could hold more juice and be even crazier! Not to mention all the talk about new battery technologies drastically increasing the range and performance.

.7 is really nothing for that hellcat engine to makeup in all honesty that has to be one of if not the greatest v8 in a factory car 1000+ hp is almost effortless compared to other engines even the mighty LS i like the tesla but that jeep with 5k-10k in mods would be 70k cheaper/quicker and sound like hells fury.

os63 it was the best run for the track hawk @ 11.9 but not the best for the Tesla who did 11.28 in the first run. So it was the most favored one for the Jeep, that’s for sure.
I'm sorry, but I disagree. It was VERY obvious that Tesla jump started first three runs, that much is VERY obvious. Don't get me wrong, I love Tesla cars, they're great. Tesla Model X is still faster tho. No wonder. It has 40% more torque than Trackhawk and it's instant torque.

I was quick off the line in my RS heading down a two lane road the turns into a single lane, behind me was a model X 100d and it was far back, i guess the owner wanted to get infront of me before the merge so he just accelerated and flew by from so far back, and the model x is just one of those cars, you just gotta accept defeat, once it starts pulling you just know its done.

B-rad1storlast Wishful thinking. The Jeep is still losing ground all the way to shutdown. Only after the Tesla reaches its 155 mph speed limiter will the Jeep "reel it in". And that's utterly irrelevant anywhere but a racetrack.
The Jeep even got a better start than the Tesla on the last run, but it just doesn't have a prayer.

There is a CZcams video of a Tesla Model X on the Autobahn, and the driver got it up to 250 km/h (155 MPH) and it was still accelerating, but he got scared with how fast he was coming up on other cars, and slowed down. The thing is an absolute sleeper!

you people do realize that on the 4th run they both had basically the same reaction time? that was a totally fair race and the Tesla won fair and square (although the Trackhawk was still very, very fast). Also, this is the kind of drag race that matters because these two cars directly compete.

I'll probably never own either one of these, but it is amusing to read the comments from those that probably don't own either one also. I am baffled why the Tesla is called a SUV a number of times though it appears to be a sedan. I already knew that the Tesla would win as many would know the possible performance difference between a gas, diesel and electric powered vehicles. Just as there are differences between a SSD and a HD. I'm just a poor guy that owns a '97 Jeep ZJ (LTD) that can appreciate the video of both of these fine vehicles. Thank you. :)

The Trackhawk is quicker and faster. Put a skilled driver who knows how to race in the Trackhawk and it beats the Tesla 10 times out of 10.

Stock air box was removed because it was being used for measurements for possible intake or filter options. K&N was run for this reason, no doubt hurt my trap speed and times some but wouldn’t have made much difference against that beast of a Tesla.

The Tesla Model X P100D looks like the real Hawk with is two doors open, unlike the supposed Jeep Trackhawk.

reaction time means nothing for 1/4 mile time... Times starts when you leave the line.

I think it adds alittle sound. But people don't realize that the air box serves a purpose and will flow plenty of clean air to the engine. And keep IAT's down in situations like this. Those k&n filters suck at doing what an air filter is intended to do. Filtering the air!!! On a heavily modified engine opening up the air intake and filter may provide some gains but in this case he's most likely hurting the performance especially in 1500+ DA and supercharged engines by design do not manage heat well.

Even though I like to champion Tesla, I really thought the Trackhawk would catch up slightly near the end, guess not. Thing got freight trained by the X. Holy shit, no chance at all. That 4th run was pretty good though, i'll give it that.
All the people yammering about the air box mod on the trackhawk, it wouldn't have made a difference. An air intake is going to net you maybe 30hp if you're lucky. It wouldn't have made any difference in the run against the X.
People keep forgetting that the ICE needs to get up to it's max power RPM whereas the Tesla is getting its max power through its ENTIRE RPM band. Huge difference. That's why ICE's are old shitty technology that we need to get rid of. I love the sound too, don't get me wrong, but the technology is ancient and inefficient, and as you can see, clearly sub par. We can only keep running our cars on dinosaur farts for so long.
And the Model X doesn't have to shift gears a million times. On the fourth run the Trackhawk got a great launch but every time it shifted gears you could see it drop back while the Tesla only accelerated.

Like hell you could see an RC vs a Hypersports car and the RC would always get the launch but given top speed we all know most electric cars dont have that and would get passed up. My friend has an traxxas XO - 1 and he always brings it to the track to race high end sports cars thinking they would beat him when they usually lose (60ft or 1/8mi races)
OR you could just put a good driver in the Trackhawk and it would beat the Tesla.
I'll still take the Jeep. It sounds better and is much more versatile. It's more than speed that makes a good car, and Tesla has never got it right.
Yep. Not to mention the quality in higher trims such as the Summit and SRTs shame Teslas. Teslas may be better modes of transports and the jury is still out on that, but the Jeep and many others are better cars than these Teslas

Yeah and the base model of the x has the same features as the p100d and cost 80k about the same as the jeep the performance models of teslas are always extremely overpriced for the diffrence in performance. All im saying is if you compared specs to price the jeep is the clear winner.
I mean you have to pay for electricity as well and if you think that your gonna spend 70k in a vehicles lifespan i think you math needs some help. I'm fine if you prefer the tesla and all but be honest and fair when comparing the cars the jeep cost the same as the 90d model and trumps it in every performance aspect.

The Model X is very quick, but the price difference is massive! Hopefully we will soon start to see this level of performance in electric cars under $100,000.
