I didn't vibe with the RWS (and RWS style) cards even though people say it's great for beginners. But Light Seer's drew me in from the start because their images told a story whereas all the RWS styled decks I've seen just confused me in what was depicted. There's just so much life and momentum in LS deck, whereas RWS is static. I definitely think Light Seer's is best for beginners to intuitively read, or even just learn from. For this reason alone it was my first deck, and I still love it so much. It never gets old.
The Modern Witch Deck was my first deck and I love it and still think it was a great beginner deck. However if you want to learn reversals it’s not a great deck because the guidebook doesn’t provide it and I had to download a tarot app in order to get a better understanding of reversals. Over three years I haven’t used it that much because my preference and style change however I can’t part with it. I gotten a deck called the cozy witch tarot deck which reminds me lot of the modern witch deck and how relatable it was. The two extra cards with everything is fine is a unique take and really cute.
Since you like the Modern Witch Tarot I recommend getting the German version because the cards are thinner and more flexible. The box also seems to be more practical.
Yess I’ve been suggested that before but I don’t want a German deck, I don’t even want a Dutch deck 🥲 I just want the publisher to fix the issue with the cardstock of the English version because many people complain about it. Thanks for watching and sharing your suggestion though 😊
@@TarotwithRuby thank you the card stock of modern witch tarot is not to my taste bc its bulky and hard to shuffle for someone with smaller hands, or mobility issues. I have found a knock off on a website that has better card stock and is smaller for like half the price. I cant wait till they do the same for the light seers and also oracle cards i cant use bc they make them so big and for what? it makes no sense to me.
I like the light seers tarot . I feel the Modern witches tarot is like the RWS deck which I like as well but the modern witch seems to resonate more towards women rather than men. Two very interesting decks , very different from each other but very chatty . Thank you 😊
I'm not fan of any of those decks, but if I have to choose i would take lightseers, it's prettier. If I have to recommend a deck for newbies you should take good karma tarot or Rachel True tarot( true heart intuitive tarot)
I had the Modern witch deck first i was drawn to it because of the diversity and the cover picture. Love the art work. Then I saw the Light Seer's deck. I love them both. The Light Seer's Tarot I like the guys, hehehe. I love the action and the mystical feeling of the Light Seer's. I personally am going through comparing the two decks right now and came across your video. I think the box on MWT should have been reversed so the girl is face up, if I want my cards to just sit in the box the picture is upside down. Great doing this comparison, and I did not know these two decks are beginner, and. well I am. I am always pulled towards the Light Seer's deck when I go to do a reading for myself. I also like all the little hidden objects in the LS deck that help you read the cards like you mentioned. And yes the other deck is hard to "shuffle".
I agree, I like the Modern Witch cause it is somewhat same with RWS cards. I hear a lot of good feedback with Light Seers but for me looking at it doesn't seem to make sense. I want to like it but its a struggle to connect with it.
I love the light seers tarot as I use quite a lot and as you say has a totally different interpretation to the original RWS . I also have the modern witch tarot as well but have only used it once and seemed fine. My initial feel was it was more for women as the majority of the characters used in the deck are women , but I feel intuitively now that I would read for a male with them if I felt inclined as really gender is quite irrelevant in tarot anyway. As you also said the Modern Witch is quite difficult to shuffle as quite bulky in the hand , but I won’t let this deter me. Thank you as an interesting look at both decks. ❤️
I adore both these decks. My only issue with Modern Witch is the card stock. It is so hard to shuffle. I have issues with my hands. My go-to deck has become the Lights Seers. It feels modern and it reads so beautifully.
I had the same issue with the cardstock and it’s the reason I ultimately ended up selling the modern witch tarot. Still love and use the Light Seer’s Tarot all the time 🥰
I never resonated with rider-waite tarot due to the outdated imagry and the cult history behond it. So i purchased the light seers tarot and it resonated instantly. I was able to read it intuitively from the first touch of the deck.

Hmm die heb ik wel eens gezien en de art style is wel heel tof! Het idee van steekwoorden in de art zelf vind ik ook origineel en in de paar kaarten die ik kan zien via Google, ziet het eruit alsof ze dat best goed hebben gedaan. Zeker het overwegen waard, bedankt voor het delen!
