Glad you found it helpful!

Thanks for the kind words!
@Tyler the fit chemist. This is the best video I have seen on preworkout. Will you please create an updated video with any new ingredients or findings on the ingredients listed in the video thank you
Thank you! As far as I know, there aren’t any new ingredients I would include 😄
Good video, I'm going to be doing this since I can't find an affordable pre with good doses. I'll be doing this:
Caffeine: 200mg
L-citruline: 6 grams
Beta alanine: 4 grams
Creatine: 5g
Pine pollen: 1 tsp
A pinch of pink salt
Ends up costing around £0.75 per serving, including flavouring, I'm pretty happy with that.
Glad I could help! Come back in a few weeks and let me know how you like it :D
Pro tip brotha. Test out 9-10 grams of L-Citrulline, it’s the max dose. Do it along with 5 grams of GlycerPump. That will get you crazy pumps

Very nice and informative video. I use a mix of beta alanine, L-citruline and L-carnitine with BCAA. Any thoughts?
Thanks bro legend!! 🔥🔥 much love from NZ!!
Hey Tyler! Great vid, very informative and resourceful! I had a quick question, could you mix all of the supplements in bulk in one container and stir it up good? Using the correct ratios of weight for each supplement so you get the correct serving size? Or do some of these supplements have varying density’s which will cause them to sink to the bottom of a container with mixed supplements? No worries if you don’t know I just think it’d be easiest to do it this way!
You can do this but proceed with caution. Unless you can blend everything together perfectly you run the risk of not achieving full mixing and thus you’ll have some servings that are under dosed and some that are over dosed.
I wouldn’t do this method if you’re adding caffeine powder. I recommend keeping caffeine in pill form so you know exactly how much you’re getting!
@@TheFitChemist thank you Tyler! Really appreciate the response! I’m planning on just mixing the beta alanine and citrulline and then taking caffeine pills with it! Take care man
@@TheFitChemist what if I will do it for like 3 min or more with a spoon and then shake it really well,do u think that will work?
@@idantsikashvili3329 Maybe, but I'd give the same warning as above
Hey Tyler! I loved the video and was wondering what other ingredients I should buy, I have enough for the Citrulline and Beta Alanine and maybe one or two other ingredients. Which supplements do you think are most important other than those two?
Thanks! You could do betaine, ornithine, or taurine. If you’re not taking creatine though I’d say invest in that instead!
Another cheap supplement to add your preworkout is pink Himalayan sea salt and beetroot powder.
great video brotha, just a quick question. i'm gonna make my own with just citrulline mallate, beta alanine and rosiola rosea capsules, however when i use pre workout i mainly use it because im absolutely shot in the morning and have no energy, so i wanna incorporate caffeine too. do you recommend a specific type of caffeine additive (such as from bulksupps on amazon, etc)? im just not sure which is the best way to approach that
Thanks! Bulk supplements has some 200 mg caffeine pills available on Amazon which I would say is a pretty good dose for a PWO (some commercial pre-workouts go up to 350 mg). You could also do a coffee before the gym, but I prefer the pills because I know exactly how much caffeine I'm getting and can adjust accordingly. If you want to know more about recommended caffeine dosages I did an entire video on it.

In fact, good youtuber! Keep going bro
Can you make a step my step video on how you mix all these together?
Hi Grizz! What is it that you're looking for exactly? In the video I just measure out each ingredient individually into a small container. Do you mean mixing it on a larger scale?
I’ve never seen any good reviews about Bulk Supplement products
I've been using them for years and haven't had any problems.
thanks man. i live in switzerland so there isn't any good dosed pre workouts here because they aren't popular here. the good dosed ones like htlt and gorilla mode have like 30+ dollar shipping. it is much cheeper to make it this way for me than buy even a bad dosed pre workout. i can make it coffeine free aswell.
Glad you found this video useful 😄
Very good video; I've been studying nootropic and pre-workout formulas for a while now but haven't considered buying any because of their insane price tags. However, I'm pretty sensitive to caffeine and it usually messes up my sleep pretty bad. Do you think L-citrullline at 7g and Betaine at 2.5g would have a noticible effect without the caffeine? I'm also considering pairing L-theanine and caffeine but also don't know if the L-theanine suppresses the caffeine jitters I get. Thanks a ton
Hey there! I think dosing L-citrulline at 7 g and betaine at 2.5 g would give you the benefits, but I'm not sure what you mean by "noticeable effect". These are not nootropics so I don't think you'd feel an increase of focus or reduced perception of fatigue like you do with a traditional pre-workout.
These papers seems to suggest L-theanine with caffeine may be beneficial but I'm not sure about the jitters part.
pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/18681988/
pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/21040626/
Also, this paper suggests L-theanine can counteract some negative side effects of caffeine when it comes to sleep.

I just got all my ingredients in today. How are you measuring them out? The Creatine says about 2 tsp but the others only give the gram. My food scale doesn’t seem to be able to do this

Thanks for the video. What's the cost per serving? And how long will it last? (ie: if I make a whole bunch, will it clump up if sitting too long)
Cost per serving depends on how big of bulk you buy the ingredients. I buy the 1 kg bags and they last several months to half a year. And no, haven’t had any clumping issues
Noiceee!
Can you add all the ingredients to one container when mixing
I’ve done this, yes. Just make sure you mix it thoroughly!
i been working out since march 2021 and i workout everyday and I take creatine 5mg beta alanine 5 mg and the l-citrulline 5 mg. now i can't sleep. could it be the supplements everyday or the workouts everyday?
I don’t think either would impact it. If I had to guess it’s probably caffeine intake and timing
I just switched to night workouts. I used beta alanine, creatine, taurine, l-citrulline, and maltodextrin. I cannot fall asleep now. From what I read, beta alanine is a stimulant, but one article said it wasn’t. Which of my ingredients kept me awake?
@@MissArelis none of them. If I had to guess your core temperature was elevated which prevented you from falling asleep
Taurine also helps with mental focus and clarity so you probably felt more alert which made it seem like a stimulant
Can you do a video on your thoughts on different nootropics?
Hi Alfred! Thanks for leaving a comment. That is a video topic I'll consider doing in the future. Did you have any in mind? I don't have a lot of experience with them but I'd be willing to look into it!
How much do all of the supplements cost all together? Would it be worth paying for all the supplements or just paying for a pre workout?
It depends on what size of each supplement you buy. If you buy them in bulk it will obviously be more of an upfront cost, but it will save you money in the long term. Also have to factor in the convenience of being able to just take a scoop of a commercial pre-workout. For that reason, I use both!
Ececellent!!! and ty!Funny enough I have been taking Pulse for about 4 years because it is one of the cleaner pre workouts.I don't like that in the last year they added the Alpha GPC though.I feel mentally very present the day i take it than the next day I feel totally out of it.Not a caffeine thing so I'm thinking it's gotta be the Alpga Gpc which is a Nootropic. Ever have this where you feel just cranky the day after taking it and not quite mentally present kind of a brain fog is the best I can describe it?? Anyway to get off this roller coaster I bought Beta Alanine,Citrilline Malate, coffee 200mg capsules and some Thaline(void of Nootropics in Pulse) and some grape flavour drops to kill the taste.Have yet to mix it as I need to get a measurer for mg or grams....Any suggestions?I tried to slo mo the video to see exactly how much of the Alinine and Citrillune you were measuring out. Anyway just found this tonite it was perfect.
Hey there! No, I have not noticed any side effects from pulse when not taking it. Glad to hear you're going to start making your own and that my video was helpful for you. Hi Brian! I haven’t really looked into this before. Do you have a scientific article you could share?
Have you put together a large batch? Like in an old pre workout jug that you can scoop from or is that just too complicated. I don’t know how they mix and then I’m sure I could find a proper scooper but I don’t know.
Hey Tyler! I’ve answered this in previous comments. Please scroll below to see my answer 😄
This is why I came to this video but apparently he doesn't show how
Hello. Have you ever tried just the first two main ingredients? I am wondering if you notice any difference when using just the main two ingredients vs all the other stuff? Thx and nice vid
I have not, so I don't have a direct comparison. The first two ingredients are the most well researched though so you'd get the most out of taking those two (and save the most money). The other ones are just sort of add ons for various reasons I cover in the video
@@TheFitChemist thanks….. I’m not so concerned with the money aspect. I just want to take the “least amount” of Supps as I can while still getting some additional help.
@@HighSpinSwingSpeed then those 2 would be your best bet

Why you did not add caffein or another stimulants ? btw i have pre workout and im gonna add my rhodelia rosea pills to in it hope that makes it better 😁

Can you compare this to a pre workout that's already made? Im a stim head and use psychotic so I need a pretty high dose.. I want to do this but I'm nervous it's not going to be as good as something already.. any advice please and thank you..
The good news about making your own is that you can adjust each ingredient to your liking. I looked at psychotic's nutrition label and there are some red flags to me...
1.) It's all a proprietary blend - big no no. You don't know how much of each ingredient is in there
2.) The total amount for 1 serving is 4.5 g, which means the ingredients are severely underdosed. Citrulline malate alone should be 6 g
Hello, what do you think about replacing the citrulline malate 2:1 with L-Citrulline? I live in indonesia and the citrulline malate i can find online are much more expensive than L-citrulline (like 3x more expensive per gram).
I think that would be okay. You’d just have to readjust the dosage (less since it’s not 2:1 anymore but now it’s 100%)
@@TheFitChemist thank you!
do you put 6grams of the l-citruline dl-malate 2:1 in, or does the 2:1 ration mean you put in a different amount which converts to be 6g of citruline malate?
Great question! I personally do 6 g but if you wanted to get 6 g of actual citrulline you’d have to do 9 g of the 2:1 citrulline malate. My suggestion would be to try 6 g and if you don’t feel a good enough pump then try increasing it
Hope that helps!
hay i want to make my own pre but i'd prefer to blend that to make a say 30 servings so i can just do straight scoop with it already mixed, as i don't have time to individual could you make a video how to or if not could u explain how, or do i just times my ingredients by 30 and just mix in 1 ? i cant find any help with this
Hey Mark! I don't think this warrants a video. You would simply mix all of your ingredients and multiply each individual dose by 30 to get 30 servings. You can get the total weight of the pre-workout and divide that by 30 to see how much you should weigh out per serving.
The reason I'm cautious to recommend this method is that there may not be thorough enough mixing whichever method you choose, meaning some days the ingredients will be overdosed and some days the ingredients will be underdosed.
@@TheFitChemist that's perfect I understand I fought the same but I didn't want to accidentally do damage to myself from over doing it no were on the internet shows u that . But I do appreciate the response back

Couldn't you just get all the same serving size bags and Mix it all up in 1 bag. Give it a really good stir and boom 1 huge bag of your pre mixed and ready to go
You could. Just want to ensure you mix it REALLY well if so, so you’re not under dosed some days and over dosed on others
@TheFitChemist will do thanks man

examine.com
Can’t you just put this into a food processor and then just weigh like the scoop?
You could. Just need to ensure really thorough mixing so you’re not under dosed some days and over dosed on others
Do you think adding sucralose or Myprotein flavour drops would be a good addition to Mask the flavour? And how much water do you mix it with? (sorry I may have missed this)
I haven't tried either of those, but if they're relatively potent I think it will do the trick. If you try it out let me know how it is!
It seems like that would cost a lot more than just buying preworkout. How much money do you save making your own preworkout
It's a bigger upfront cost, but you save more in the long run. It also depends on how big of "bulk" sizes you buy. The bigger you buy, the more you'll save over time. A tub of pre-workout might last me one month, but if I buy the individual ingredients it might last 3 or 4 months. Sorry I don't have the exact savings $$
Is it possible to buy caffeine powder? I can only find pills
Not sure. I’d prefer pills bc you know the exact dosage. If you measured out the caffeine powder (especially if mixing multiple pwo doses in one big container) you might get more or less than what you were hoping for in one serving
Be careful with caffine powder! It can be lethal. Recently a man in the UK was doing exactly what we are talking about here and he OD'd and died from too much caffiene. The pills are the way to go.

If you're using it to boost NO production/vasodilation citrulline will achieve that effect and most likely better as arginine isn't as well absorbed.

Nope
Alpha GPC ?

I took your advice and bought the ingredients from the links. With this combination of ingredients, how long before training do you ingest everything?
With store bought stuff, i was taking it 20-30 min before my workout. However, after reviewing my current stash of pre workouts, i noticed they lack many of the nootropics that you mentioned.
With that being said, should i account for that in my "ingestion plan"? Any recommendations would be awesome!
I usually take it ~15 mins before my workout. I don't think 15 vs. 30 mins will make a huge difference. The only thing I would not recommend doing is chugging it immediately upon starting the workout... you obviously want to give it some time to kick in.

Not sure who hurt you, or why you feel the need to lash out with multiple comments on this video, but I'm praying for you Jelissa! Have a great day.
Why don't you just mix them all together in one bottle??
so I know I'm getting exactly the right amount. You can mix it all together in one container, but it's just not as accurate unless you can perfectly mix it
@@TheFitChemist oh wow didn't think of that lol thanks a lot mate!
Your channel should be so much bigger very info dense.
Thanks, Brian!
Let's not tell people if you take a pre workout don't drink coffee
Quite literally the opposite of what I said. I said if you want caffeine you can pair it with coffee...
Creatine yeah let's just get fat with water retention.
You just admitted creatine does not make you fat. Fat is not the same thing as water.
Decent video but I can make a better pre with just two ingredients and their efficacious dosages.🤷♂️
make a video about it then xd
Drugs 💀
Turn to Jesus people he died for you sins, Repent of what the New Testament describes as sin. Believe the gospel obey the teachings of Jesus documented in Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. Jesus is the only way to be saved, if you have faith in Jesus then you will live life with him as your example. If you need prayer i'll pray for you. If you want to keep contact with a brother in Christ i’ll keep contact with you. The love of God is beyond our understanding. God bless..
