    So do you lay the tint on the rear window dry? Or do you mist the window before you lay it before shrinking

    Hi. Yes, the film used was the 3M Carbon Stable series, but this technique will work with all films. The important thing is reducing the amount of static on the glass before you start. That is why these dryer sheets work so well.

    How does film cope with demister wires in rear windows. The wires on my VW Passat can be felt as raised lines on the inside surface of the glass, surely that's going to cause bubbles.

    I own a tinting shop and am just curious. I noticed you didn't assist any of the shrinking with your hand. I tend to split the bigger fingers into smaller sections. I'm gonna try your way. Thanks for the upload

    Hi US, does every film can be done with this dry method? Or maybe some film can, but not everyone. I was trying to shrink Global QDP film on full wet rear window in my BMW e39 sedan and wasted 6 pieces of this film. I didn't think about that I could try shrink it on dry surface. BTW I didn't know that QDP means Quick Dry Plus... If know this before I would try to shrink it on dry glass, of course. :/ So, does this Global QDP film have to be shrink on dry surface?

    That's because at the end of this video the job isn't done yet. This step only forms the sheet of tint to the same curve as the glass. Next he would pull that off and reapply it (without its backing, which is still attached here) on the INSIDE of the glass.

    Wow people can be so stupid sometimes. Anyways I tried this method with the cheaper and thinner ebay precut kits and burned through the tint instantly. Gun was set to high on 950. Just wondering what temp you use. I'm going to have to turn it down some I know.

    • @ultratintsouthport
      @ultratintsouthport  Před 10 lety +2

      Hi Mike, Yes, either turn the heat down, or increase your distance from the film while heating it. it's usually best to try and regulate your heat by distance rather than the gun itself. Makes it easier to adjust as you go. Cheers.

    • @SN95SVT
      @SN95SVT Před 10 lety

      Cool. This is my first experience with the precuts. Definitely quick to install and the cuts are good but downside is how thin they are compared to the good stuff. Luckily my first test was on my own car. Also have you had any problems shrinking with the hard card right away? Some people say use your hands or a towel first or to break the fingers into smaller ones?

    Why is the tint on the outside of this window and not put inside of the window? I got my tint in California at "California Tint" and they put mine on the inside which from all of my research is how it should be done. Especially if you live somewhere where it snows and you need to scrape ice off your windows. This would just be ruined. I dont think this is how it should be done and I can understand the dislikes because of it

    • @ultratintsouthport

    i do not know anything about cars but i do know about ebay, ebay is not the one selling you the products, the products come from another memeber like you who decided to become a seller on ebay and sell his/her products. sothe quality of the items you buy on ebay really depend on the seller not ebay. you have to be carefull with sellers description of the items and positive feedback score. i am a seller on ebay and i have 100% positive feedback. ebay is just the dealer to put it in a way.
