These are basic philosophies and suggestions. If we war-gamed every possible scenario, we'd have a 10 hour video that no one would watch and still not cover everything. I suggest you make a basic plan and then actually go out and train it.
Wear it, walk with it, adjust it and fine tune it so its unfucked the day you need it
My favorite channel on SHTF prep and training
I hope that none of us have to deal with situations that call for this knowledge, but I am very glad that people like you take the time to give us the knowledge for in case it does happen.
Just did my second 36 mile ruck hike and camp learned even more this trip and was even easier that last time we scanned for streams of water locations to
Filter last time we went miles until we found a water spot and cramping was no joke, even if you see a spot finish what you have then resupply. And maps may not always be right on there legend ours was off by 2 miles
Man you and Stoker been crushing it lately.
water seems to be the limiting factor... we need about 3 liters a day to keep from becoming dehydrated... carrying 3 liters is enough for one day, after that you would need some way to re supply. cant live very long without water.
The honest answer is you shouldn’t be traveling unless you already have a planned stop for water or the logistics train to sustain operations
It seems for every 100 klicks north you go, packs get larger in winter months. In January where I live I'm pulling a sled.
My team carries alcohol stoves for OP's- I just can't drink cold coffee.
We also carry folding shovels and very small folding saws as well as 5 to 10 sandbags a peace .
SOP.
Cheers
It’s not about what kind of stove you use. The smell of hot coffee carries a surprisingly long distance.
Get off coffee habit. When you do get it, it'll be more beneficial...talking to myself as much as you. Essayons
Yup, I forgot to mention an Etool
@@SilverShamrockNovelties You don't brew instant coffee and if you're going to be out (running with the little animals) then a sure-fire way to boil water is IMHO a must! Gardia is no joke!
Instead of trying to find sticks for a shelter, you can bring 1 or two trekking poles, and use them to make your low to ground plow point. The bush crafters would crap their pants if they couldn't a saw or an axe to cut stuff down with.
The pathfinder school is/was selling a lightweight poncho frame, made for use with a survival blanket. For minimalist setups, it might work better than regular poles, if you have some tie offs.
Currently, the trend seems to be "hyper-light" packs and packing. I live in Alaska and throw those opinions, as well as trends, to the wind.
Thanks for being willing to share your knowledge
I think the british basha (tarp) is design to be used as an emergency stretcher. It is reinforced and has loops for it.
Have anyone used one?
One man can carry it instead of the poncho
I use, at 7:00, a similar lens that starts red, around my neck. Good to have and gives better illumination than having it on your head.
I use a 3x magnifier on my rifle but on my plate carrier I also have binos in a canteen pouch
Good stuff!! I run a very similar and practical setup of things with some minor differences.
The list ... where's the list?
@@twboegel2918 I have a video on my larger LRRP Ruck packing items. Day/ Patrol pack is the essentials, again similar to what Randall has here with just a couple different things based on my environment and climate needs.
I love your radio. Conversely it lasts longer than an eighty-yr old. and the solder carries solar battery chargers, grin.
When I need sticks, I believe the saw would be better than chopping, snapping or batonning Though carving off a stick would be the quietest.
Looking forward to the Feldlugen German clothing thingy. Great cold weather survival information, thanks!
These are my favorite kinds of videos. Will be watching this one later.
Could you do a video on how you set up your poncho? The ties you use, how you tie off your hood, the bungie cords you suggest etc?
I always used the mre coffee like dip because I hate cold coffee.
Carry 30’ of 1” nylon tubular webbing and a climbing grade carabiner for improvised litter.
@ 11:54 ... dude wipes man, get some dude wipes. Says Dude Wipes right on the package too for them curious onlookers.
This is the one I have been wanting for..
I dunno, man. JayBlanco says you can’t use night vision without shining a big freakin IR flashlight at your adversary. He says it’s smart and there’s no way you’ll get shot doing that.
Good stuff amigo. Ya killing it.
🍻
Thank you for the truth Brad.
I went on lots of WALKS, DARN IT , never included a RV once. 🥺
Man that’s some great ideas and a lot of stuff that should be standard for sure. Excellent video brother.
Video didn't show up in my feed, is a reason i go to specific channels daily to check for content.
I have never grasped the knowledge being who I am with my résumé left unsaid that I’ve learned from this channel
I just subscribed recently because I found myself watching your videos these last few days and I like the stuff you talk about the things you say but I live in hot as hell Florida. So your stuff about survival and fighting is all good but it would be nice if you could talk about warm weather sometimes what's surprised me about Florida when I first moved here some years ago it said it's more like the woods of Virginia than I imagined but with the tropical plants comes a lot of nasty Tangled stuff and lots of bugs.
I use a netted hammock in the tropics
This isn't JUST a SHTF, RWOL, INCH, or bugout Minuteman bag. This is a "March through June in Oklahoma" bag. Tornado season sucks. Yes, I said season.
Great training… once again!
I thank you for your videos.
I thought you had a cat under your shelter at the beginning there.
Good video. Thank you.
Good shit.
God bless.
Thank you
👍
great stuff, keep on keeping up good work... may I ask what is that long sleeve top you are wearing during video?
It's the ECWCS midweight "waffle top"
Not sure where you are but here in NE Pennsylvania its spring not winter 😅😅
Great info buddy
Outstanding value
Good Load Out. 🤘
With the OneTigris rig, what did you use as the additional 4 mag holder?
The OT holds 8 regular mags
Probably am securing my cell in FEMA camp for saying this....11B's are bad ass, but 12B's are game changers especially sappers😜
Good friends to have
We all know the King of Battle is 13B’s 👊🏼😎
What is the name of that sleeping bag? Subtitles even screwed it up.
What kind of socks do you prefer?
Grip6 or Armadillo Merino
@@GruntProof Thanks!
Brother, can you please spell out or put link for the faverbushka or whatever you called it?
If you have a drone train on it by having your team avoid it, just knowing how to fly it isn't good enough
The camera is bright on its screen, no? How do you mitigate that?
Is that pouch big enough for PVS-14 bridged with a thermal?
Love from Russia
QUESTION... I have two older canteens with the cover and cup. They have the alice clips. How did you connect those canteens to your chest rig???. Are the molle or Alice? These canteens are basically new, I'd hate to replace them....
Those are the newer MOLLE ones. I am sure you can attach the older ALICE ones to the PALS webbing. MOLLE is far more secure though. And less floppy.
👍🏻
You could also use the Alice to molle adapters. They are inexpensive.
Tactical Tailor 3” MALICE clips
Second the malice clip comment. I use the hell out of them, they're great
I like to carry stuff
I still wonder, who told you that the thermal cloak has no reflective inner? xD Probably a Jerven employee? ;-) I have it right here, next to me, the silver side staring at me in disbelieve. 😀And both are waterproof, not just a bit, and set up in an angle. I once had a prototype tarp of the Norwegian army, a poncho-sized tarp made of the Jerven material, it was absolutely rainproof. (I shouldn't have sold it, 15 pieces ever made, such a rare collectors item... *sigh* ) They decided to just stay with the Jerven bag, it's more versatile than just a tarp. Especially the version without insulation and a woobie or something similar instead. I have years of experience with both and I wonder, why you were warm in one and freezing in the other. Could it have been the shape you were in at that day?
Oh and btw youtube wanted to keep this video a secret, back to the roots, it all went to well for about a year lol
Trying to find the video on the belt?
Kinda off without holding a tall boy.
What thermal drones are you all using? The mentioned parrot drone here is like $7K.
OP? What does that stand for?
Observation post.
If you hear him talking about lp it's a listening point they usually go together as a lp/op
Noobs. Everyone knows OP stands for “Over Powered” like the KSG in CoD.
Oversized Penguins
🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸👍👍👍
If I die, then I'm useless? Today is a good day to be useless.
if you want to train in the rain then camp out on the Olympic Peninsula lol
The reason we don't put anything like a drink mix in a canteen isn't because it will harm the canteen, it's because if we get gassed, or a haboob blows in I need a way to flush out my eyes or one of my teammates eyes, fresh clean water is imperative and electrolytes ain't a gonna help that...to say the least
Oh, and speaking teammates and sleeping with your boots on at an OP, at the FOB one of my teammates INSISTED his sleep time was HIS sleep time and he always, ALWAYS, slept in the raw. One morning watch called out "contact right" and I grabbed my rifle, jumped out of bed and headed to the rifle fire. No sooner had I started to engage I saw this flash of white out of the corner of my eye, and there was Deek, in all his natural glory, carrying his rifle and wearing only his pistol belt with a mag holder strategically positioned to preserve his..um...modesty. His ghastly ghost white-ass body blazing away into the night also stood out like some kind of wraith from hell. Deek never "changed his ways", and somehow he survived, got back to the world, and has a gorgeous wife and three beautiful kids (which if they read this some day, "Uncle Whiskey" loves you guys) 💖💖💖
Man I've been looking for a sleeping bag to use with the bivvy. How the hell do you spell the name of the one mentioned in video? Can't figure it out and subtitles were zero help.
your vids are fantastic. How about a vid for the working poor. what gear when you dont have 600. to spend ? what gear after your rifle, a handgun & good knife ?
Military surplus is definitely your friend here. The old ACU stuff is very cheap and can be dyed or painted to get rid of the god awful camo pattern.
I realize you're using Liters as a unit of measurement a lot in this video and now I'm curious as to why you opt to do that as opposed to the average American who isn't going to touch metric units with a ten-foot-pole?
lol, why aren't the minutemen "operators" down at the border repelling the invasion?
Why aren't you?
