I have a question, What kind of worms was those in the wood ? What kind of wood were they in, and is that the only kind they go into ? That's why I will not bring Firewood into the house. Dan, put a pc of plywood down so Amanda does not step in a crack on those pallets and the next pallet you push in will side in better. Be Safe in the Wood Yard. • @Back40Firewood
      @Back40Firewood  Před rokem +1

      I get a lot of different size logs and rounds of wood in to split, and sometimes it just depends on the mood I'm as to how I split them...lol. But with the thicker 'fat slabs' it does help in stacking and also with seasoning. If I know I'l have longer to season it I'll split a bit bigger.

  • @smallflower7285
    @smallflower7285 Před 3 lety

    I'm trying to understand the American way of working with firewood. The differences I have spotted are:
    - You seem to keep a constant fire. Because of that you value fairly thick splits. Does that not bring in cold air from outside constantly as burning fire requires air and lets out smoke? We have the stoves build into stone, which stores the heat. We have the fire for 2 hours and the fireplace gives out heat for 2 days. Then of course we have good insulation, triple glazing and 2 feet of insulation.
    -Stacking seems to be almost sacred ritual. We split, store the wood under roof but no walls until it is seasoned. Only after that we stack, just once, if needed.
    -Knowing how much wood you have is easy. There are rules of thump about solid m3, stacked m3 and loose m3 www.bioenergyadvice.com/bio-fuels/firewood/conversion-factors/ so stacking is not really needed for that either.
    -We burn everything, soft woods mostly. On the other hand you get a sweeper/technician to clean you fireplace/chimney yearly to be sure there will not be soot to cause fires in your chimney.
    -You do enjoy your time spent with firewood. Likewise :) Consider building a wood-fired sauna as well, it's really a pleasure to spend that hour in the heat after a hard day of working and just relax.

    So much time wasted chucking wood. Most of the firewood produces are guilty. Do they need organising!

    I'm like sorry but this is painful because you show some tail and you're doing basically nothing to split the wood you get views I've been hand splitting for 20 years and never will stop and I'll outpace you and your log splitter and enjoy it nothing is easier in life than splitting wood by hand

    OK are the Yoga pants for cheap clicks? If you put on yoga pants there would be a large volume of hysteria and insanity youtube wide. I am thinking you should skip the pants and go straight to the firewood thong.
