... however, disapoint in no one for pointing out the joke at 1:15... as I spent way too long giggling to myself with that one

These are amazing! I was never a fan of the GW Green scheme for Arnor but you green/yellow tones look brilliant. Love the distinct look of each region. Top hobbying 👍

Just found your channel and binged all your content, it's right up my alley! Arnor has always been one of my favorite lesser known factions alongside Dale and I love your take on them! I've mixed some Hammerin miniatures, Medbury, and official GW minis for my main force. I've recently started doing a more traditional take on them using Norman miniatures with the tower shields and it's another wonderful blend of historical and designs from the films.

Thanks man, and those sound awesome! There's just so much out there miniature-wise once you break out of the gw/movie trap, and I spend WAY too much time now looking at historical minis to use :P

Cardolan seems like an ideal nation for the rangers to come from. Healthier attitude = higher courage, less military = lower armour, more woodsy/skirmishy style of defence, kind of like the hobbit archers

I love how you approached the creation of the army from the fluff point of view. It makes the force not only unique but also forges a unique bond between you and the miniatures, as they are fully a product of your deep thinking process and passion. Also, I admire the great painting!
Would you mind telling me what particular set from Footsore miniatures those archers are? I was going through their web page and could not find bowmen that were matching them.

This is really cool! Using a less explored area with a lot of implications to inspire your own take.
I personally always liked to think of arnor like the late Carolingian empire, especially with the parallel of it breaking into 3 states for its 3 heirs that greatly diminished its power and the longing for a brief, but great, successor empire to a long ago legacy. the general geography and mood fits as well.
I also really like how the northern dunidain were portrayed in the medieval ii divide and conquer mod with a mix of silvers, greens, and browns and having a very interesting “medium armor” feel to their army composition. Like it took one part of the heavy armed gondor and one part the light dunidain rangers to makes its own distinct aesthetic that feels like a continuation of numinor adapted to its local and people.

I believe that rhudaur likely turned to serve the which king out of fear. Likely they were threatened by the which king and perhaps were tricked to serve him or at least given the ultimatum: join me or die.

Damn!!!! I loved this. I am 'currently' working on a custom fiefdom army, so watching you tackle this, while showing off alternative minis was wonderful! I loved your breakdown, and how you handled the three kingdoms! Its a shame, GW never did this, but oh well; they gave us so many other fluffy things haha c:

In all honesty, that rhetoric about impure bloodline in what is a historical record probably betrays a lot as to how Rhudaur and its people were seen/treated and makes their joining with Angmar a lot less surprising.
