Ooookkkk….well, in that case it’s worth mentioning that an even more reliable method for sinking the 8 is to pick it up with your hand and drop it in a pocket.
One tip for people you can do is bridge hands in awkward situations. It's such a common thing that people struggle with and end up hitting the balls with their hands (inuding me sometimes)
It's a good practice to make sure the 8 ball DOES NOT ROLL as you push the rack tightly forward with fingers touching, pushinĝ all 5 back balls forward within the rack. Push forward and press them downward. If the 8 rolls you'll need to replace the balls around it, each with another. Also be aware the balls may be old, worn and refinished and not all equal in size. A few thoussndths of an inch in diameter can make a difference. This I know from shooting the game for 60 years now. I hope this helps. Gimme a thumb.
Dope! I’ve been playing APA for 5 years now, I’ve only gotten six 8 On The Breaks during league play and I’ve been hitting the same spot on hundreds of racks. I just have back luck lol. It’s worth mentioning to people that I like to put draw right on the cue ball so it’ll come off the rack and hit the long rail and back into the balls potentially giving it a second chance to make the 8 ball.

On a legal tight rack you break with a lot of top spin . The ball will hit the top ball of the rack and first spin backwards then will move forwards hitting the 8 ball . It will not work every time but does increase your odds .

In Australia you can only shoot from within the D on the break line also our pockets are smaller therefore impossible. Best way is hit the left of the centre ball with right hand side and follow through
This is the only trick I wanna practice. We all suck at pool and have a habit of getting the 8 ball just at the edge of a pocket and not knowing how to deal with it.
What he doesn't tell you is, if you don't hit the second ball cleanly you have a high probability that you will scratch in the corner pocket. I have also seen a couple of players make the eight ball and then scratch a few times, which is an automatic loss. I think they were using low cue when it happened.
Typically your opponent or a referee will rack. So, with that in mind, to prevent what your opponent from making the 8 on the break, rack with the lead ball exactly where it belongs, then rotate the back of the rack about 1 degree. This is enough for the paths of the balls to not take their traditional routes but is not enough for your opponents to see what you've done.

If no one sees you do it before you break, (not saying do it because I hate cheaters) but if you did and no one notices you do it then it's fair game. That's why you should always be 100% into your game. Not on your phone or talking to other players etc.
You don't break your own rack. And it is still a difficult shot. I break for quantity and separation. And occasionally you win the old fashioned way, YOU EARN IT!

But no, pro players don't do that. I've never seen it in the decades I've played some top players. I've come across some road players who will rack sloppy for you if given the chance. But rack-your-own is common and when it's not, the breaker will check the rack and never let you get away with that.

That's why the ref is there. A person can't practice making the 8 ball on break. Solid break...
The only pro player who uses this trick.
I use this technique all the time but I don’t cheat and leave a gap on the balls. But if I don’t make the 8 I usually get something on the break.
I used to practice that for hours when I was a kid. Didn’t do as well on homework. :-)))

With the rules I’ve played you lose if you pot the black off the break or early. House rules I guess but still confusing.
