@@josh6813 Well in SF6, if you grind enough, you can reach Master since Capcom gives more points for winning than deducts points for losing, (so there will be a net positive if you win even 50% of the matches). OTOH in Tekken, if you lose too much, you get punished severely and get demoted quickly.

Phil parried twice on the A.K.I fireball, he dropped the parry early both times, first time he blocked it and second time he walked forward being impatient to hold his parry expecting perfect parry

9:37 Something I hate of how DSP uses Gief is how he wastes his entire OD bar in combos that do barely any damage, at this point it is just a bad habit of his. He puts himself in burnout so easily an carelessly.
I've watched a few gief players , not one of them plays anything like piglet and they all seem really decent with that character. Piglet just tries cheap moves and spamming.

DSP does not go to practice mode to learn various setups and counters and while playing Zangief; "I can't do anything to beat Cammy, everything she does is build to stuff everything Zangief has".
Meanwhile other Zangief players like Snake Eyez, Itazan, Itabashi, Koboyan etc, spend hours everyday in practice mode while waiting for opponents, do not seem to have the kind of problems dealing with Cammys the way DSP has.
now that you mention it, yeah why does he not just enter practice mode while he is in matchmaking ? rather than whining until the next opponent is found.

Phil legitimately has the potential to be a good player, but his attutide will forever hold him back. Like his funamentals are pretty good, he just refuses to lab bad matchups or break his own patterns (which funny enough is the exact thing he complains about that his opponents do). If he had any sort of self reflection, he has the potential to be better. Sadly he'd rather just bitch and convince his dents that its the game's fault and not his.

I do have a theory that this last patch nerfed Phil's "playstyle" indirectly: drive cancel into throw is not nearly as easy or cheese as it was.

Considering it's a command grab, ends up a punish counter too. I never placed 4th at evo or anything but, if I were consistently beaten by Cammy and her fabulous ass, I would probably take some time to play as her so that I would start to see what moves can counter her moves. If someone can stop your cammy, then you can use those same strategies to stop other Cammys.
But there are no stakes in ranked so why does it matter if he loses? Pointless MR points that mean nothing. At least thatâs what Phil said.

Me and my friend caught two of his matches and he just spammed the same 5 moves and won because of it. He spammed pile driver, spin move, low medium, low kick/low jab, and drive rush. And because he was playing zangief he was doing way more damage making it unfair. Phil just sucks at the game spamming moves and picking characters that do jacked up damage. The only time he lost was against fast characters like cammy and Aki which I believe she can poison people, I donât know I donât frequent fighting games
