Years ago l was on the verge of taking my life , I'm a veteran with PTSD l had just returned from Iraq, l was lost and hurting l actually wanted the pain within to stop. The night l was set to end my life l heard this song and decided not to go through with. I instead asked God to help me find my place in this world and He did.

I'm a Cancer survivor of 4 years. Doctors say one more year before they say "I beat it". I'm 47 years old, made so many bad choices against the will of God. I am a mom to two young adults with special needs. I pray God gives me many more years. First time ever, I can truly say, I am ready to do His will. I have wanted to all along, but my flesh got in the way. Lord, guide me into your will and a better life serving you.

I gave my life to Christ with this song. That was so long ago, but feels like yesterday.

After 30 years this is still my favorite Christian Pop song.

  • @6760joanne

I remember this when I was just a young girl in my 20s, with the secular mindset of “anybody please love me and except me for who I am“. It hits me differently now as a woman, age 63, with a pure, more focused mindset on what God has for me to do in this world.

Even if you listen to it without a religious mindset, it's an inspiring song that reaches to all of us, equally.

The 90s wasn’t a decade. It was an emotion.

That was my anthem 30 years ago. It’s now my anthem again. We plan for everything…but the things we cannot plan for. Becoming disabled between my late 20s and early 30s is something I never planned for. As a gymnast and a cheerleader and a very physically active person, Jesus decided he wanted me to take a different path all together. I’ve been trying for more than a decade to figure out my new purpose, what it is, and how I can serve God’s purpose, when I spend so much time in the bed by myself. But if there is one thing I have learned, it is that God is in control. And no matter how much I want to take the control back, it is not possible. Fall in line, and follow Jesus, otherwise there is no hope, and living in a fallen and broken world is a quick demise for the soft-hearted and painfully empathetic. Praying for anyone else who struggles with understanding where their place in the world is. I thought I had it all figured out…Only to be reminded that I’m not the one who is in control. I already knew it, but I had to lose a lot of myself to accept those still small facts. It is not mine, but Yours, Jesus. Please lead me to do Your will in the midst and depths of my life’s continual pain and storms. I love you, my Abba-Papa. ❤🤟🏻🙏🏻🙇🏻‍♀️

To me the most powerful line in the song, If there are millions down on their knees, Among the many, How can you still hear me?

Everybody has a place in this world. Whether it impacts a lot of people or just one. To find it you need God's help. If you believe ,he will. It may not happen straight away but it will happen.

Shoutout to all the Americans who have listened to songs like this in the 90s and 2000s. We've had great times back then. Great memories.

I woke up with this old Christian song playing in my mind. I used to listen to this song through my headphones 🎧 outside on a hill by myself when I was 9 yrs old. It was when my stepdad was sexually abusing me horribly. I thought I could kill myself at 9 & still go to heaven because my Aunt Joan had told me all children go to heaven.

I'm 50 years old and I used to be heavily into Christian Contemporary music in the 80's and 90's. Absolutely loved this song. Love his music. My favorite part of this song is the beginning of it. 🙂❤

I'm 37 now, and I'm from South Africa. I remember my mom playing this every Sunday after church as we drove home. Man, this triggers a good core memory ❤
