- Nissan announced on Friday that GT-R production for the North American market will end in October, with two special models, the Skyline and the T-Spec Takumi Edition, celebrating the legendary performance car.
The T-Spec Takumi Edition is a refined version of the 2024 GT-R T-Spec, exclusively painted in Midnight Purple. It features enhancements such as carbon-ceramic brakes, gold RAYS forged wheels, and wider front fenders. Unique touches include a gold vehicle identification number plate in the engine bay and red writing on the exterior badges, paying homage to the takumi, master craftsmen who build the GT-R. This special edition is priced at $152,985.
The Skyline Edition, built on the base "Premium" model, comes exclusively in Bayside Blue with a blue interior and costs $132,985.
Both editions maintain the iconic GT-R specifications: a 3.8-liter twin-turbocharged V-6 engine producing 565 horsepower, a six-speed dual-clutch transaxle, and all-wheel drive. Production numbers for these limited-edition models have not been disclosed.
Since its debut in 2007, the GT-R has been a groundbreaking performance car, challenging and redefining its segment. Despite the lack of major updates over its 17-year lifespan, the GT-R has remained a formidable presence on the road.
In a release, Nissan acknowledged the unforgettable legacy of the R35 GT-R while emphasizing its focus on the future and innovative performance. An electric GT-R concept, the Hyper Force, has been shown, but it might not arrive until the end of the decade.

Sad to see this icon go. I already had my heart set on the T-Spec but this Takumi Edition looks amazing. I really hope there are not insane over sticker prices at the dealers. If I am able to get one this would be a car I would never sell. Because the car has been refined over the years it is rock solid and well sorted.
the takumi version and skyline version will become rare in the future
@@tobiichitv Agreed.
It is really a very nice car, but it has been the same car for 17 years!
Thats fine, you dont see them everyday anyway
It's a bit long in the tooth
Please stop
Too dated….waiting for a real update to the GTR
