      @@bpathenergy9638 I really do like your interface, I tend to focus on functionality over looks and let the end users like yourself do the "nice bits". I hope you do well with this product, if you ever want to bounce some ideas off me feel free to reach out.

    Great work! I was waiting for exactly something like this - Tesla Module BMS with Victron Energy support, fantastic! What's the limiting factor on the modules max. (20). I think, the protocol should support more than that? Is there an option to run more of these bms units in parallel to max. out max amp. and even more modules and would they still be able to connect as separate devices to a victron gx over VE.Can/ UDP?

    • @bpathenergy9638
      @bpathenergy9638  Před 4 lety

      It should handle 63 modules. You can use larger contactors if you need. Or switch more contactors as separate groups.
      One of my costumers uses 27 modules in series with one bms.
      If you have a specific need please make an overview batteries and victron equipment. I will advice according your need.

    Hello, verry interesting, one question.. How the Tesla battery monitoring board comunicate with your BMS control or with the CPU of the Tesla vehicle ? CAN? ISO11898? Thank you!

    This appears to be an outstanding piece of hardware. This should be getting more notoriety. So, you mention a module setup configuration of 2s (44.4v). Will this provide all controls for a single module or 2p (22.2v)? Also, can I make my own presets for contractor activation? For example: contractor closed between 21-24v, contactor open under 21 volts/above 24 volts? Can I tell it to manually balance at anytime or is it automatic? I assumed a pre charge resistor isn't needed at 24 volts, no?
    Essentially how much control do I have?

      Hi. The module controller will control one Tesla battery module, or any number up to 20 modules.
      You need a communication cable that connects the correct number of modules. I will provide this according your request.
      The contactor has several parameters. Highvolt, lowvolt, hightemp. Exceeding will cause the contactor to be opened.
      Balancing has two parameters, balancevolt and balancehysteresis. When above balancevolt and above balance hysteresis the balancing will be active.
      Precharging is recommended. Also at 24 V. It will increase the life of the contactor.
      Many more parameters are available. Please check the manual on my website in the store at the module controller.

    It really nice to see this kind of all in one solution, but it is still steep, I know why you have to price it like that, but what is the interrest of a DIY solution if it is more expensive than the real deal ?

      @@bpathenergy9638 yes the Tesla power wall, it is 6500€ +- for 14kw each individual module from used car are 5kw and they cost 1000€ each, that is 3000€ of battery, then 1500€ for your BMS then another 2000€ for the battery charger / inverter / Uninterruptible Power Supplies it is pretty much the same price has a powerwall :/ I've 4 Tesla module in my garage that I'd like to hookup main power and be used as UPS and Solar battery, judging by the price of different solution, yours, simp bms, batrium, I'm better off buying the real deal and sell my module.

    • @bpathenergy9638
      @bpathenergy9638  Před 3 lety +1

      @@prignony hi, thanks for your reply. With four modules my module controller cannot compete with the Tesla power wall. I really like the power wall! So for this capacity range I do advice costumers to buy the Power wall. It becomes different if you want off-grid or have higher storage needs. My solution becomes attractive. And some people like the idea to make new purpose for very good batteries which have no use anymore because the vehicle died.
      Please also check my fully functional housing:
      www.bpathenergy.nl/product/tesla-lithium-battery-system/?lang=en
      This can be built up to 50 kWh capacity. And it has the contactor, BMS and Victron off grid compatibility.
      And note you can increase battery capacity for future expansion.
      Best regards,
      Brend
