Ep 3 - Sailing to the best pubs in the South of England. Bad weather sail to Chichester Harbour, stealing a berth at Itchenor and the best burger ever.
Great vids. Bought a yacht in 2021 and based in Portsmouth. You've nailed the 3 reqs for a good Channel. 1) funny. B) informative. 4) relaxing. Top drawer.
A hanse 400. Bought it after owning a macgregor 26x for 1 year. Will do re Beaulieu. By far the best yachting vid. Most are showing attractive young ladies enjoying a delightful sail safe in the knowledge that the crew are competent, well practised and working as a cohesive unit where provisioning and planning are always sorted. In comparison.... your channel has a unique charm.
@@BarryGreen007 nice boat, I just bought a Najad 390, similar size. Thanks for your comments. We have considered buying some budgie smugglers to get the best of both worlds. Click bait and carnage.
I've just discovered your videos and really enjoy watching them. Especially like the relaxed tour of pubs, many of which I know! We spend several days storm bound on a swinging mooring in Itchenor a few years back and got to know the Ship Inn quite well!
Dave-O and The DaveR! Thanks for sharing! Enjoying a little binge watch on LLL. I have to say the editing is rather good. Not sure which Dave handles that but well done!
Many Adventures on this very ship with Mr. Oliver, and with Mr. Rebbettes to France. Superb video's there is something about amazing people that make you won't to better yourself, I have some very fond memories and on Mr. Olivers previous boat Pure Jade. Please keep the video's coming.
Yes! Keep her in over the winter. Some of my best sails are in the winter. Clear visibility, not too busy, quiet anchorages, pub fires. As long as you can deal with the cold it can be the a wonderful time to get out there. For the cold I use these. www.amazon.co.uk/Little-Hott...s+hand+warmers. They work a treat. Good sailing, if I see a sail in Chichester harbour this winter then I shall wave, there is a good chance it will be you. There aren;'t too many of us winter sailors Dave
I think you are only allowed 20 mins on the harbour masters pontoon, there is a visitor's pontoon a little further along, but you need a tender. I was wondering how you managed to stay, until you explained afterwards.
Went there, as you recommended, but the pontoon mooring only has a 20 minute max waiting time; fortunately being New Year’s Eve the harbour office was all shut!
It was the same for us Kevin. Unfortunately the office was open but we just walked in bold as brass and said we would be about an hour or so. They just looked at us and nodded.
This is great. I can't stop watching them. Have a lot of work to do.
Ha ha, glad your enjoying Tony.

Thanks Barry, what boat did you buy? Say hello if ever on the Beaulieu.

I handle that Brian. Mr. Oliver just provides the moans.

Ha! More talent on your guitar playing fingers than all of our winching arms Mr. P....
These are lovely videos. We have a boat at Itchenor and it has definitely encouraged me to keep her in for the winter.

You Guys!
Know The Ship well - favourite lunchtime stop wayfaring out of Bosham.
100% beef and chorizo burger with Camembert. Best burger ever. I hope it is still on the menu for you. Happy sailing Herb
Just love your videos great wish I COULD HAVE A TRIP WITH YOU BOTH TO GET SOME EXPERIENCE
You are welcome to join us any time LWB, just let us know and we can make plans. Where are you based, or is the clue in the name.

Weird to see a pre-covid pub again.
