I agree with microfiber towels. I don’t think they absorb at all. They’re better for cleaning surfaces that scratch easily.
If they don’t absorb, you’ve gotten a coating of something on them, such as too much detergent residue, or you accidentally used fabric softener, or tossed a dryer sheet in with them. Can’t do any of those things with microfiber.
They dont absorb even before they're washed. If you use them as soon as you buy them they still aren't effective.

I have no matching tea towels! Mine are 1. Best towels 2. General daily towels 3. Mopping up disaster towels 4. Boo hoo towels! ( when I can't find a tissue and a sad song comes on the radio, or I see bad news on TV) the pity tea towels. 5. Grossville towels you can guess I won't go graphic on you! 6. Dead towels, unrepairable, ripped, stained, etc. They then become mechanics towels. Love to Mary, from England xxx

And add me to the anti-microfiber club too... I find they catch on my skin if it's the least bit dry and it feels so weird and uncomfortable.

I dont like microfiber either, for the same reason. They dont absorb. Also dont like microfiber bedding sheets or comforters. They feel weird.

I agree with the fact that the terrycloth is more absorbent that said I purchase ‘bathroom’ hand towels for my kitchen. I hate the feel of the microfiber towels in my hands.

I’m from NC as well and mine does too😂 sometimes it’s stronger, sometimes it’s weaker, depends on who I am around and where I am 🤷♀️
It really depends on who I've talked to that day, what mood I'm in, and if I've spent time anywhere near my hometown. It's not a conscious thing that I decide to do unless I'm doing a role play video.
