I had an English final the next day, I studied at the bar till JEW went on. I remember the concert better than any British Lit authors. No regrets.

I have photos from this show. I found your post tonight and to my shock I found short little self singing along at 34:14 and at 40:52. It was weird to see your 20 year old self through a stranger’s eyes. Thank you for recording this show!!! Going to see JEW tomorrow night after 15 years. So pumped they are back in a club again.

Haha awesome! This was the last night of the tour for us (I traveled with Lazycain as merch bro). We did 2 weeks on this tour and had so much fun. We drove back to Richmond that night.
On a whim, I bought a camcorder maybe 4 days before while on this tour, and this night the sound guy let me hook into the board, that's why the sound is actually quite good.
Glad you found yourself on here. That makes me happy!
      Have fun tomorrow!!

@@clintonemerson19 Oh no way! Ya that show was awesome. I wish I had more photos and videos of shows from back then. It made me flip out to see my 20 year old self in a sea of people rockin out. That was my spot at the middle east as I am only 5ft tall. I used to lean against the railing. It is hard to come across the early shows from the Static Prevails Clarity years. It was such a sad show knowing that Lazycain was done. I was talking with my friend Andrew W., who is a born and raised Richmond native, about how Lazycain is his fav band just the other night. You may even know him.

@@meghanoliver2522 I love hearing all of this. I had only been to the Middle East once before this trip, 5 years earlier. I played downstairs in a chugga chugga straight edge band, others on that bill were Bloodlet, Jasta 14 (pre-hatebreed) and Chokehold. I loved the club then, and now watching these again, it really does bring back memories. I remember they fed us falafel sammiches before we played, which was amazing, because I had no money.
Your nostalgia has now made me want to look in the attic, I know I've got some pics of this JEW tour somewhere.
They crashed in my tiny apt. in Richmond, I seem to remember us watching Happy Gilmore, the night before we left for Philly and NY. :D
Then it was off to Boston!

@@clintonemerson19 That is such a great memory. There was a place in Worcester, MA called The Space. It was run by the crust kids (Food Not Bombs). I used to go to shows there on the nightly as they had so many HC and post-punk/hardcore bands, Piebald, Jazz June, STD, garrison, TYF, Bane, New Found Glory, AFI, Kid Dynamite, HWM, Cave In, Fastbreak, Grade, Reach the Sky, and so many more! I too was a big HC kid back in the day. I even saw Shelter there the day after Thanksgiving in '97. Looking back there were so many amazing shows that came through Boston and Worcester in the mid-late 90s. I am sure Richmond was equally as awesome in those days! I went to the Hole in the Wall in '97 with my fake ID, which was awful by the way. I met Mark and his business partner and they just kept calling me a Yankee trying to piss me off. haha

@@meghanoliver2522 oh dear God. If you were drinking at Hole in 97, we have certainly met and drank PBRs together. I was there every night, literally, for at least 4 years. :o
My liver just quivered thinking about it.
