How did I miss this? This. Is. A. BOP!!! Its simple arrangements gives the listener the opportunity to both focus on the lyrics as well as the delicate delivery Meshelle gives. I am digging this like an old (yet still a good one) soul record

Yoooo. I see I'm late to the party. I don't care. Michelle is a true gift to this earth. She does her thing, in her lane, her way, everytime, regardless of the genre or vibe. Her live shows are ridiculous. Her musical touch & fire is undeniable. I am just blown away by this version. What a sweeeet arrangement; someone else commented "its a tender moment of 2.41s". Her voice is sultry & makes me feel like 'aaaaahhhhh'..I heard this for the 1st time a day ago in a restaurant. As I take a long drive on a Sunday evening today, I can't stop repeating this song. Her musicianship has always been top notch. This is what GOOD quality music does for the listener. Can't get enough. And the album it comes from...you have got to listen to this album. Never considered doing an acoustic set until now. She tapped into the universe and made this original piece her own. Michelle Ndegeocello you are AH-MAZING..Love and Light.
Another gorgeous tune. So loving the new album Tonight is the 1st time I've heard it and so far all 7 tunes I've heard have made me think. WOW...just such beautiful and stripped down tunes that all have such a sweet and dreamy vibe going on. I can't imagine anyone else reinterpreting or attempting to reinterpret so many covers on 1 album and have each and every one of the tunes sound so amazing and different from the originals. I'm blown away! I have to admit that I'd love to see a return to the Funk someday cause I still listen to Plantation lullabies and Peace beyond passion whenever I need to get myself feeling better.. but I certainly understand you being an artist and wanting to explore different directions and styles. I'm sure you've had more than your share of people who asked for you to put the old bands back together again and admittedly I wish for the same cause anyone who got into you from Plantation lullabies would naturally wanna see and hear some of the old tunes live in concert. So hope and pray you don't take it the wrong way cause I'm sure you have people who you'd love to see play their old material if they weren't doing them anymore. But it is what it is and you have every right to do anything that makes you happy. I'm falling asleep so on that note I really hope and pray that you make your way back to NY sometime on this tour cause the show at Le poisson Rouge sold out so fast that it was impossible to get tix and I personally know a bunch of folks who are dying to see you play live. So you'd definitely have no problem selling out a 2nd show. Hope you'll consider it! Best wishes and loads of peace to fuel your passion!
