Hi Clack. I think the alpha has similar technology to get the small beam, but this one has some excellent features on the front panel, and it is definitely a larger workspace. Both lasers seem to be a great step forward from the usual array of diode lasers on the market.

Looks amazing and thanks for another great video. I've done just a bit of research on this machine but can't find whether or not it has the capability to attach a rotary and is the maximum engraving area really ~17x7 (inches)?
I should have mentioned this. There is an integrated rotary port in the frame behind the display.

I don't see drag chains. I hate how my older Ortur wires sometimes cause issues. Everything else looks pretty amazing.
No drag chain but they don’t seem to be needed. The way they’ve handle cables makes you forget that they are even there
You mentoned the removable filter on the bottom, and said that on newer higher power lasers, they do ot make them removeable. My opinion, I think they are forcing the user to be safe, but not letting them remove it. I have seen on other videos where people has removed the filter so that the smoke doesn’t say inside and can scatter better, so the lense doesn’t as dirty as fast. Great video, I ordered one and it should be here Friday. Thanks.
Lots of people remove the glass but the makes the laser inherently unsafe. If smoke is staying in the laser module then put it in a box with a good exhaust fan that can vent the fumes well.
How is the Delta holding up?
Even after my recent update, I'm still having nuisance tripping of the flame sensor
It's been extremely difficult to get a project done without interrupting itself

Not in my shop ATM but you can either turn the flame detector off from the front panel or from Lightburn, but if I recall, you can also lower the sensitivity.

Keep an eye on the price. Your budget is close and there are sales in the laser market on a regular basis
Thank you for your response, Steve. Is the laser module fan appreciably quieter than the Atezr's, especially when including their air assist? I wear hearing aids and have to turn them off and wear ear protection with my Atezr.

I don’t think a diode laser will cut any of those. Some say you can cut glass with a CO2 laser but any time I have tried it just broke due to excessive heating

Hi Steve! We actually spent a few months doing some compreensive testing on Linear Rails, however - specially on laser engravers with exposed rails - the engraving dust would ruin the rails in weeks. The level of maintenance - which on linear rails is not easy - is a bit extreme. So in a way, less is more :)

@@SteveMakesEverything we REALLY really wanted to get linear rails to go, but some materials would really create havoc on them. Tile engraving for example. the paint turns into this fine dust that would compelatly clog the little ball bearings in a few long sessions.
And if belts can be tricky to keep in tension and well maintained... linear rails cleaning, regreasing and reassembly is.... well Chaos! lol
i will ask if R&D can send some data to be set in "case study form" woudl be interesting
@@gilaraujo Thanks, Gil. This is more to sate my hungry mind than anything else. I never really thought linear rails would be an issue. I used them in my home build CO2 laser and after hundreds of hours, they are still working flawlessly.

The AlgoLaser super COS 40W laser module is will launch soon. The laser spot would be about 40% smaller, bringing higher optical density to cut thicker and harder materials.

It’s around 400x420 I believe. Pretty typical area. The Alpha is a bit smaller
is the cut actually 7.5"??? CNC coming new to laser. Looking at this #1, Roly #2, and Atezr L2 #3. I would love your opinion. Will be in RV, I may be sitting in areas with no wifi... (AZ desert)
At the risk of making Rich, the Louisiana Hobby Guy, mad at me again, I would lean to the AlgoLaser because the beam is square and is sized differently for cutting vs engraving. Note that AlgoLaser is apparently announcing a 40w version next month and the beam size will still apparently be in the 0.15mm X 0.16mm range. I would replace your #3 with the Acmer P2 30W.
I know Rich loves the Roly but it seems to be lagging from a tech perspective. So it probably wouldn’t be #2 for me. But Rich will probably review the new 20w and 30w versions soon.
Wifi isn’t an issue with any of these lasers since they all have USB support.
Btw I’m working on a video that will be out soon for a new laser from a new company and is by far the easiest to use laser that I’ve ever seen. It’s a bit smaller workspace than most traditional diode lasers but it’s really designed as a desktop laser, which might be ideal in your RV. Watch for this soon.

How thick of Baltic birch can the laser cut cleanly without a bunch of char? I am trying to determine whether to buy now or wait for the 40 watt in October.
I don’t have thick Baltic Birch so I can’t test this but assume it’s going to be at least 12mms is a single pass if you want to push it. Personally I normally use power at 100% and a speed of maybe 1000mm/min with 10-12 passes. It takes about the same time but you don’t end up a charred cut.
Any trusted sources for Lightburn device settings for this one? I only seem to find the Alpha on their support menu? Thanks!
I assume Algo will get these up on their site but you can probably start with the ones for the Alpha since I believe it uses the same module

I need the cuts to be clean and from what I see… they are not.
Settings are everything. If you cut something and the edge is charred then try doubling the speed and do two or three passes. It will be a lot less charred

Great review. I was fully convinced up until the final side-by-side comparison - which to me looks better on the 33w machine. The Delta side looks like there has been some movement or loss of accuracy?
Hmm. No movement, but as always get the laser that is best for you and the job you want it to do.

How quiet are air assist and power supply?
Air assist is very quiet and the power supply is silent. The fan in that laser module makes a bit of noise while operating though
What is the difference between this laser and xtool 40w d1 pro or s1. I need to biy laser for my business but i haven’t decided yet. Which one should i buy
Well, the AlgoLaser is obviously a lot cheaper. The output power is 24-26W rather than 40W, which, in the grand scheme of things doesn't mean a lot because the Delta cuts very similar to a 30-35W laser due to how AlgoLaser shapes the beam. In my opinion, there isn't really much point in spending a lot of extra money for any 40W laser since they are a bit of a side-effect of manufacturers trying to convince buyers that there is value in being able to cut 2x4s, and while most 40W lasers can cut thick material, the resulting cut is pretty much a charred mess. The real sweet spot for diode lasers seems to be in the 20-30W region, where you get a good balance between fine engraving and thick material cutting.
Note that it might sound like I'm telling you not to buy a 40W laser, and if you have the budget and use case for one, then, by all means, pick one up. The D1Pro is a fine laser but is in the late stages of its life so it wouldn't be my choice, but the S1 is a great laser, especially if you use xTool's XCS software rather than Lightburn.
In the end, you won't go wrong with any of the lasers you mention.
I contacted Algolaser, and they did say the 40 watt would be out in October.
Yep, if you need 40W then you might want to wait. They haven’t mentioned cost yet as far as I know, but it’s probably not going to be cheap.

Hey! What would you look for when buying a second hand diode laser?
You’d probably want at least 10w. More would be better. Make sure it works and that all the movement is smooth

Tough call. Out of the box the Delta is a better engraver, though it doesn’t have a 1.6w laser module option. At present it is also only a 24W laser, so the Falcon 2 blows it away for cutting.

@@sharisloma595 Wow, you're the first person that I heard of with Atomstack issues. At any rate, while I think there challenges with some lasers, regardless of the manufacturer, I really like the Delta. But there is certainly lots of choice out there.
I'm leaning pretty hard toward enclosed lasers these days because they are just safer. I did ask AlgoLaser a while back if they were going to release a Class 1 laser and they were non-committal. I think this is a mistake on their part, honestly.
@@SteveMakesEverything I have reached out to atomstack and they sent me a new motherboard after determining it was a faulty motherboard. After putting in the new card, it still is not working properly. I have not been able to complete any projects, it just doesn't work right.

can it engrave vector images with a good black engraving and not like everything else that they produce a faded and brown colour on plywood?
All diode lasers produce the same basic feel for output. Some of this has to do with the material as well. However, if you want your engraving with this or other diode lasers to be dark then defocus the laser a bit before engraving.

@@Georgeprospero Engrave a material test on your 10W and it will show you which power/speed generates the darkest engrave.
Is there a good quality diode laser with 20W of power for about 600$ (not including delivery (to Europe)) that you would recommend?
Maybe check the Longer Ray 5 20w. Is close to that price range

What’s the working space?
I can’t recall exactly, but like most open frame lasers it is in the 415x415m range. It will be listed on the AlgoLaser website though
Would you buy this or the Atezr L2 22w or 36w ?
Given those two choices I would buy the AlgoLaser. It cuts great and engraves with precision. Make no mistake though, the L2 will also get it done

@@martymeunier4862 This is always a tough question to answer because there are so many great lasers on the market and it depends on your primary goals, budget, and desired power. But my top three for somewhat different reasons would be:
1. XTool S1 40w
2. AlgoLaser Delta 22w
3. Wecreat Vision 20w
This isn’t an implication that I dislike any other laser you might have seen on this channel or any other channel, though. In general, lean toward the newest models because technology is evolving, and newer lasers are mostly improvements over old ones.

I’ve heard this about Atezr. We can open this up to the community. Based on my limited experience, Longer seems to be good and based on conversations with Acmer and AlgoLaser they seem to care about customers too

Does this laser have linear rails on both X and Y axis?
This laser doesn't have linear rails at all. I spoke to AlgoLaser about this, and they claimed that in lab tests, linear rails didn't last as long as rollers due to dust collecting in them, causing excessive wear.
This is possibly why xTool doesn't use linear rails either.

@@glenn8059 Well, for your benefit and my own sanity, I took a look, and there are definitely no linear rails on the AlgoLaser Delta.
When I spoke to AlgoLaser about this, they made a pretty compelling case for not using linear rails. They claim that while linear rails might seem better initially, they will fail once they start getting clogged up with all the soot from the laser.
If you dig through the other comments in this video, you will see Gil's response to the linear rail question. I wanted to get the company position attached here for everyone to see.

I have an Ortur . I the company seems like a phantom company that just passes the orders from manufacturer to customer. It feels like there is no one at Ortur. I hope he makes the new company better. Makes it an organization more than just a seller.
Agreed. I’m always tweaked by bad support and service, so I keep my eyes open for this. Sell me something to make me successful, but then support me to keep me successful too.
10:00 This comparsion with acmer 33w is not real! In your channel (and others) Acmer p2 33w can cut in speed 700mm/min but here only 400 mm/min...
Well if I was lying I would certainly have to admit it, however, keep in mind that how well cuts appear is totally dependent on what you are cutting. I use 1/8” hardware store plywood, which is a bit tougher to cut than say 3mm Baltic birch plywood. This is why I alway tell you in cutting tests what material I’m cutting. So no lies, but for the record, I use the same material for all laser testing to ensure that my tests for each laser I review can be compared.
In short, if the tests you are looking at for the Acmer are done I. Different material, you will potentially see very different results.
I went back and looked at my original cut tests for the Acmer and compared them to tests I redid for this video and there are indeed differences. This is really just a material difference since I in fact used 3mm birch ply in the original test but when I redid the test here I used hardware store plywood (the original was done before I standardized on both tests AND material). I redid the test for this video because I wanted to pieces of material from the exact same sheet of plywood running the exact same tests. Again no lie, just more concise results.
If you own the Acmer, have no fear because it is a fantastic laser

@@MrMarcinskij The confusion is exactly why I've switched to standard tests and consistent material.
In short, you are correct that the 24W AlgoLaser Delta cuts almost the same as most other companies' 33W lasers. This is a function of technological advances. The AlgoLaser Delta stacks the beam differently, which is why it is smaller, almost square, and definitely has higher energy in the beam.
